Have you ever bought the same shirt in different colors?

I do this all the time. I'm retired, so my wardrobe doesn't have to be extensive. I have two pair of jeans, three pair of shorts, two pair of "dress" pants (khaki and navy), and a couple dozen t-shirts (some dressier than others), all in different colors. Getting dressed is easy as all the colors "go" together.

When my DDs were in school, our back-to-school shopping consisted of three new pair of jeans and five new oxfords each. I was so lucky that neither DD was a clothes fad follower.

The J.Crew Jackie cardigan. I've been buying one or two or three a year for at least 10 years. But jean/tank/cardigan is pretty much my go-to outfit, so they get a lot of use.

I do, all the time.

I currently have about 8 different colors of this certain style of T-shirt made by Woman Within that fits me just perfectly. I bought one to start out with, and I like it so much that I kept watching for sales and buying more. Now I have peach, light yellow, light lime-y green, red, navy, and white (in the short-sleeved version) and dark plum purple and dark forest green (in the long-sleeved version).

They are my go-to shirt to wear with jeans, shorts, capris, even sweats when I am being lazy at home.

Quote from hops&dreams, above: " It was basic but with a little bit of interest - scoop neck with ruching (I have no idea how to spell that word, but do you know what I mean, it's kind of bunchy but in a flattering way) in the middle of the neckline, near the cleavage area."

That is exactly what the neckline on my T-shirts looks like too. I like it a lot because it isn't just a plain shirt, but isn't overly attention-grabbing, either.

I'm a guy, I buy most of my shirts that way. I have a dozen of the same polo shirts in different colors.

I do, all the time, but only if it is a basic item. For example, today I am wearing a blue and brown polka dot sweater twin set. The first time I wore it to work everyone noticed it and commented (probably because I am more of a solid color person). I really like the polka dots, but if I got in another color it would be very obvious.

I do have the same v-neck cashmere sweater in 3 different colors because I got them for 70% off and they fit great. I also have the same dress pants in black, brown and navy, and I also have the same shoes in black and brown.

I say wear what you love and what feels good. You can't go wrong that way.

I do this all the time. My mother (God rest her I miss her so much) always did this and got me into it. If something fits well and looks good why not?

I bought the same shirt from Torrid in both a blush pink color and black...I don't usually do it but when I fall in love with a top, I will.

All the time! Usually just with simple items - T-shirts/tank tops/plain sweaters. Nothing with patterns that are just different colors.

I do it all the time. I love the fit of Land's End shirts and pants. I tend to get several of the same ones in different colors. I found a t-shirt I really liked at Kohl's last summer. I went back and bought them in every color. I probably have 7 or 8 of them!

Funny story - a new teacher started in my preschool class this year. I started noticing that she seemed to wear the same pair of jeans everyday (we all wear jeans because the class can get messy). The jeans have beading on the back pockets that is very distinctive. After a while, I started noticing that sometimes her jeans were a slightly darker or lighter color. Once she had a worn spot on one knee. Then I realized she has several pairs of the exact same jeans. No problem with that. She must like they way they fit. Now I can see lots of differences in every pair. I certainly wasn't going to ask the new teacher why she always wears the same pair of jeans!!!

Yep. I hate to shop so if I found a blouse or slacks that fit properly I'll buy them in every color I like just so I don't have to shop again for awhile. :thumbsup2

Same here...I recently bought a batch of shirts in the same style and even some in the same color.

Yup, the Ny & Co. Madison shirt was my go to shirt. I bought 2 in black even, still love them but they changed the design a year or so ago and I didn't like the new design at all.

A couple of weeks ago I bought a few items from Macy's online. I absolutely love one of the tops. The color is nice, the fit is perfect, and it is totally my style. I went back to the website and the same shirt spoke to me again, but in a different color. Well, after a few days of going back and forth, I decided to buy the SAME shirt, in a different color.

It hasn't arrived yet, so I went online to look at the shirt in the new color I ordered, but now I want the THIRD color option too. It is sooo hard to find tops that I like, but I think buying number 3 would be overkill. Have you ever bought the same shirt in various colors?

I wouldn't think it was overkill. It's difficult for me to find a style I like so when I do, I have no problem in getting a 2nd or 3rd especiaLy since I tend to wear black or khaki pants at least 50%-75% of the time.

Yep! I have the Perfect tee from J Crew in nearly every color they have. It is my go to shirt. I can dress it up or dress it down. Love them. :)

I have absolutely bought the same shirt in different colors. I like plain tees. So when I found the tees I love in 6 different colors I scooped them up. Plain ones can be hard to find. I don't like ribbing, scrunching, pockets, Neck decals, buttons, etc.
I usually wear them with different shoes and jackets/ layers- so I don't think it makes a huge deal.

Not only do I buy the same shirt in different colors... if I like it enough, I will buy more than one of the same.

that's me - not only will i buy in (most) every color, i'll buy multiples in one particular color as well....
