indirectly? the local university frat house (pre-covid) would set up their pledges with a table in front of one our local stores to collect food for the local food pantry. they always picked a nasty cold day so the poor kids were shiverring while they were trying to reach their quota. i'de just smile as i walked in and then before doing my shopping i would gaze across the shelves for food i knew was useful, nutriitous, and gave allot of bang for the buck (i always sought out the good sale items). i would come out with a cart that had maybe 20 1 pound bags of dried beans, 20 1 pound bags of rice, 20 cans of nice hearty soup. pull the cart up to the frat boys and tell them to unload it. they were always very surprised and very appreciative. figured it helped out allot of people that way.
