Have you ever booked day-by-day?

I've only used day-by-day to book BWV standard view for New Year's eve.

With the new booking policy, I'm sure I'll never be able to book BWV standard for NYE again! I'm even doubtful of being able to book BWV preferred, BCV, or VWL for NYE in the future. I do like NYE at WDW, but I don't like the week between Christmas and NYE, so I don't book that whole week. And I do own at all those resorts (at least for now), so I do have the 11 month window.

I did call day by day to get BCV in November. My time off is set in stone and I'm not able to move things around so it's worth the hassle to call every day. I haven't had much luck with the wait lists so it's a small price to pay to secure the reservation I need.

AKV Concierge 2 times, BWV Boardwalk view 1 time, BCV 2 bedroom w/2Q's 1 time. I feel this new booking policy will affect me greatly. If I am booking a VWL in May for a studio I just book at one time. I have always booked the resort and room that I have wanted with the old system.

Never-not for Boardwalk standard view in early Dec or in October during food and wine fest. and not for HH.
I've never had to go on the waitlist because of calling 11 months out from the departure date instead of day by day.

I called day by day to book a GV at HH in August one year. And once again for a December trip to BWV.

I've never called day-by-day. Neither DH or I have the ability to make phone calls from our jobs every day at 9am. So, since that option wasn't in the poll, I didn't vote.

However, FTR, we usually vacation during Jersey Week - F&W - Super Soap Weekend period and have never had a problem getting the accommodation we want. One time we did go during Easter week, but we got what we wanted then too, again without calling day-by-day. On top of that, I've never called right at the 11- or 7- month windows.

Maybe if we ever were to vacation during Christmas week (can't see that happening), I might have wanted to do day-by-day booking. Since I wouldn't be able to do it without taking time off from my job, I'm happy that the reservation booking system has been changed. I didn't think the other way was fair for people who couldn't get to a phone every day at precisely 9am because of their work responsibilities.

OP....you need an "other" option.

I voted never....didn't want to make all those calls....But that is not why....I didn't have a need to do that yet. I want to go to Vero Beach next summer and I would have done it.....but I'm really happy now that I don't have to.

I agree.....I feel this way is very fair...everyone still has the same opportunity. Having to make a call every day at 9am is ridiculous.....not everyone can hang by the phone everyday......

I booked day by day for BWV in October -- we have preferred view and are waitlisted for BW view. The calls weren't a burden for me, quick and easy.

I voted 'never'. We are new members and have only booked one ressie so far. Besides, I don't think day-by-day booking is necessary for SSR (our home).

We would like to do HH next August and were planning to call day-by-day when the time came since we expect that will be a busy time. Now I wonder if we'll get anything since we can only book at the 7 mo mark.

It is just a vacation and I have better things to do with my time then call day-by-day to make a reservation. Those who do call day-by-day have different priorities and if it works for them that is great.

I couldn't agree more. There are always villas available somewhere when I call. Most of the time I don't care where we stay. I am happier at any of the DVC resorts than I am at home!
