Have you ever booked a standard view room and regretted it?

Std. View at YC overlooked a quiet pool. Might have been an upgrade.

Std. View at BC overlooked a rooftop.

Std. View at Poly overlooked a garden and pathway.

Std. View at BWV overlooked the driveway.

Std. View at AKV overlooked an access road.

Std. View at GF overlooked the marina.

My Value Resort stays were in "preferred locations" and I have to say, the only thing that I could see from the window was the sidewalk outside of the room. And Moderates were not much different.

There are 2 places I would pay (use more DVC points) for are at AKL and the poly. And the times I stay at those resorts are laid back trips where I enjoy most of the amenities of the resort as opposed to being in the parks the majority of the day.

.
We actually prefer standard view to river view at POFQ, because river view rooms can be by the boat docks, and you can hear the horns at night.

It's funny how everyone is different. The boat horns are the exact reason we prefer the river view rooms. So neat to hear, transports us somewhere else.

I've never regretted it. Most of the time I'm in my room, I'm sleeping. View is pretty irrelevent. The one exception was one time at Coronado Springs when I ended up having a fireworks view. It was a lovely surprise on nights we came in early.

I do not book views in any moderate, and choose Standard whenever possible. The outside corridors take any incentive away to pay extra money.

The only Deluxe I pay for a view is AKL. I pay Savannah view there and enjoy every minute. Every other deluxe resort I take what I get, and hope it is not a parking lot, but so far I have been lucky.

The only 2 resorts where we pay extra for views are Poly and AKL. Otherwise, we have been happy with standard views at all the other resorts we've stayed at.

I’ve never regretted it - we don’t spend much time looking out the window anyway - I’d book a better view if it was all that was available but otherwise it’s no big deal to me!

I book standard unless we're at AKL (there I book savannah view). I sometimes book preferred at Pop Century, but that isn't for the view, it's for the convenience of being close to the main building/food/buses. I've never regretted our standard view rooms. In fact, at Pop Century, I find we are happier in a standard room than a preferred one. It tends to be quieter, and we like being able to overlook the lake.

I found standard view at Mods to actually be pretty good, they do a good job on a lot of the rooms of having greenery in between the rooms and parking lot. Unlike a lot of people, I really like opening up the curtains during the day because it really brightens up the room and makes it so much better, plus I like looking out. I really could care less if a few people might glance into our window.

The only resort that I would upgrade the view is at AKL - the Savannah view rooms are amazing. We had booked a Standard View and were kindly upgraded to a Savannah View for our honeymoon. Now that I've been there are seen the different views, I'd splurge for the Savannah view in the future.
