Yikes - just received a reverse-911 recorded call advising we are under a "boil water" situation for 48 hours :sad2:

I did notice the water went out for about 5 minutes this afternoon (when I went to do a load of wash) - should I rewash those with bleach now? Or is it mostly a drinking problem? Turn off the ice maker?

Sorry for the questions, but the call didn't give any instructions, and you know how it is - when it's not your location, you don't pay close attention to the reports of what to do ;)

This is a first for me - we didn't even lose water during the hurricanes!

My entire campus was placed under a boil water warning last year.
We had to use bottled water to brush our teeth, to drink, we couldn't us any of the ice machines. We could shower however.
It is a big inconvenience esp on a college campus.

Your clothes should be fine. Turn off the ice maker, and throw out the next batch, then scrub the bin with bleach. Use bottled/boiled water for brushing teeth, and be careful not to get any water in your mouth while showering/bathing. Also rinse frsh veggies etc with bottled/boiled water.
