Have you ever been totally off on who someone was on the DIS?

Maybe you've been ordering too many products from the website we have in common, JoNo. A little too much caffeinated meatloaf and not enough sleep? (This is the story of my life, anyway!) ;)

One of the very best things about the Community board is being able to get such a mixture of ages in the conversation. In "real life" we all would not have time to sit down together and visit, but this way anyone can drop in on a coversation and share a different prospective. I think that is really great. I also am 20 X 2. Some days I feel 90 and some only 12, that's life I guess!:D

:D Another member of the class of '96 checking in.

I admit I sometimes get diser's genders wrong  !

Hey, I graduated in '62, is that okay??

Class of 64 here - getting ready to plan our 40th. I'm sure if I'd gone to Dan's high school he would have been one of those handsome upperclassmen that we all had crushes on.

Dan ,were you and the beautiful Marie high school sweethearts? I think she's maybe a little younger than you? I say that because she looks younger than me.

I'm always wrong about people's ages. Not usually genders though. Not on this board anyway. I post on another board and I have found that when men use an avatar of a female character it throws me off.

I'm 27 going on 5 :)

I've had a few confuse me as an old guy because of the Uncle part. But all they need to do is read a few of my posts to see that I'm a 8 year old trapped in a 23 year olds body. :)

I was born in '62. I think having a 4 yo and inheriting my mom's young looking genes makes people think I'm younger than I am. At least in person most people think I'm 10 years younger than my real age. Hopefully that'll still be the case when I'm pushing 80 :D .

I was right about you Kyle. My siblings were aunts and uncles at 8, 9, & 14 so I just figured you were a young uncle. Maybe you aren't an uncle at all though so who knows. ;)

I'm almost always wrong with mental images. And its funny, but sometimes even after I meet someone on the DIS, after corresponding with them for years beforehand, I still think of them as my mental image and not what they really look like. I don't know why I do that, I guess because for so long I imagined them to look one way and can't seem to lose the image in my mind. :p

This is why I put pictures in my sig. So no one gets confused! :D

arminnie, Where are you from in Arkansas? I'm a Native Arkansan from the Ft. Smith area, just currently misplaced in MO. lol I'm hoping to be back in AR soon.

I cheat and hit the "profile" button, although sometimes I have seen "U" under the Gender field.

Not so much with the DIS but I did in real life the other day. Went to a secretary breakfast speaker at work and saw a woman I have conversed with over the phone and email - TOTALLY TOTALLY NOT what I thought she would be or look like. I figured she was quite a bit younger than she really is and the picture I had of her was NOT what she looked like. My face had to have shown that when I found out who she was. It was too funny!

Work place sweethearts, back in the late 60's. And she is 3 years my junior. :)

LMAO that'd probably be me! I put that there when I came here with my HMG alias. Never thought to change it to an *F* I guess! :teeth:

Well now.....seems I could be mom to a lot of you!!! My favorite tea bag saying..."Age matters only in wine and cheese". Guess that says it all. In person, most people don't believe I'm as old as I am. Maybe having a dh 8 1/2 yrs. younger helps?? And let's not forget having a 10 y/o dd.

Wow CEDmom, you really do look youthful. How long have you been a biker?

(Just kidding -- thanks for updating the pictures of that cutie-pa-toot-ie DD of yours!)

Snoops, depending on the image you had of me, I'll let you keep it, but I won't keep the one I had of yours, for some reason I thought you were older, don't ask me why. I like your real image better! :)

I've gotten some pretty strange looks at DIS meets. I don't look much like people expect, and I'm not totally sure why.
