:rotfl:, not as bad as it seems, basically i alot of big things were stolen and they guy who was doing it, tried to make his friend the company top cop, think it was me, cause i had use to a big truck. But after a month long secrete investigation of me, they gave me 3 weeks off for just dumb stuff after they found my house clean, then later fired the guy who said it was me, and found all the stuff in his garage

I was "laid off" from a job 21 years ago, and never heard from them again. I knew I was being fired, and so did they, not sure why they didn't just call it that. Never been suspended though. I'm sure my current boss (pastor) has days where he wishes he could push me down the baptistry stairs.

:rotfl:, or baptist you a bit long :rotfl:

No, never. I can't imagine it.

However, one of our staff was arrested and taken away in handcuffs for something he didn't do. I was called on to testify on his behalf.

No, I've never been in trouble at work, at least not so far...

Yup. Send an email that someone found offensive. I thought suspension was a bit extreme, especially since it violated a policy they later discovered, that we had never been told existed. My wife's only comment was "you got suspended for THAT?" 5 minutes later she handed me a "honey do" list for my days off work.

Never suspended at work. Was fired once from a crappy job during college, but never have been in trouble since. I've been a good boy. :littleangel:

Low-key, you seem kind of proud of the fact you were suspended.

Jim

Once... I used to work at a transportation company that hauled plastic pellets. Somehow I had gotten paperwork for 2 different loads mixed up. Luckily the driver realized he was about to unload the wrong product and checked through the paperwork. I was suspended for 3 days. It was kinda nice, I actually got a massage one day and spent the other 2 days with my daughter!

What irritated me was that I didn't cost the company a single penny (thanks to the wonderful driver), but someone I worked with on a daily basis at the time was costing the company tens of thousands of dollars in late fees and never got in trouble - actually ended up getting promoted a short time later!!!

I had a co-worker who was handcuffed and arrested during one of her LAW SCHOOL classes. she had resigned about 6 months earlier to go to law school, and when her cases were transferred to other workers some discrepancies were found (to the tune of tens of thousands of dollars she stole in cash and foodstamps:crazy2:). while she had worked for our department she had been rude on more than one occasion with the welfare fraud division of the district attorney's office so they took particular joy in traveling several hours to her law school so they could walk in during the middle of a HUGE lecture to arrest her (making sure to loudly read every charge against her):rotfl:

she traded her law school logo sweatshirt for state department of corrections coveralls for a couple of years:thumbsup2

Happened to my grandfather back in the 50s. He was fired for stealing. He was a janitor. Turns out they had the wrong person. The knuckle head who was stealing wasn't smart enough to stop after gramps was fired. Three managers came to his house with hats in hand to apologize and gave him his job back...with a raise.

Question: From the company's perspective, what's the benefit to "suspending" an employee? I manage a staff of 8 and believe me, I need every one of them on the job at all times; covering a sick leave or even planned vacation days leaves us scrambling. The last thing I would do is send any of them home temporarily because our overall productivity would suffer. If the offence was that egregious I'd be terminating them and interviewing candidates for an immediate replacement. Thoughts?
