I love hearing about everyone's fun & unique DCL experiences. If you've ever been picked for "Guest of the Day," please share your experience!!

We were selected family of the day for our first cruise. We got to skip the line for Minnie Mouse and Oceaneer club sign ups and got our own little table to wait at. Our kttw cards were scanned prior to concierge and platinum boarding (so that we were 'first) and then before they started calling boarding groups they announced us as family of the day and we boarded the ship before all the groups.

Not on DCL, but in Animal Kingdom. We came in the gates, and while everyone around us was running to their various rides, my kids were extremely interested in a tarantula that a CM was walking around with. It was in a glass box. As we turned to leave, another CM approached us and asked if we would like to be "family of the day" on Kilamanjaro Safari. Of course we said YES! She escorted us down a special path. We got our very own truck, which was 1st in line, she used a bullhorn to announce us to the hoards of people in the queue. Our truck took off with just the 5 of us in it, and we got an all-day fast pass for the safari ride, good for the whole day. It meant, we could ride it all day if we wanted, using the FP line.

After umpteen trips to WDW since 1997, and 9 cruises since 2004, that was the only time we were ever picked for anything like that.

We were selected as the "Room Service Family of the Cruise" once. This entitled us to order things from room service that aren't usually available to the standard rooms - they sent us the menus we could order from (I know we didn't abuse the privilege but do remember having a hot breakfast delivered to the room one morning) and they sent special treats.

We are extremely lucky to experience this twice...

We are a family of 4 with two girls 7 and 8 years old. We are all Disney addicts...

On our first Disney Cruise on the Fantasy right out from dry dock, we were selected to cut the ribbon for the new Sweet on You ice cream shop, a cast member scooped us out right at the entrance of the terminal, they took us to the concierge lounge, then we were the first ones to board and escorted by two officials to the shop, where Minnie was waiting for us, all the new employees and many other officers. We got a certificate, free ice cream or treats from the shop for the duration of the cruise, a lot of pictures from the ceremony loaded to our photo account, chocolates and champagne on our stateroom.

The second time was last year on our Thanksgiving cruise out from NYC, a cast member was following us for several minutes and then she asked the question if we wanted to experience some Disney Magic...they took us for pictures with Mickey and Minnie and then they did the formal announcement in front of all the crowd...then on the second night we got a lot of sweet treats on our stateroom.

The only problem is that now my girls think this should happen every time...we are about to take our 6th Disney Cruise...so let's see if we can do 3 out of 6....

These stories are amazing! Thanks for sharing your special experiences! I always love reading about everyone else's pixie dust. This is our first Disney cruise, but we were once picked to receive a free turkey leg in (then) MGM during Year of a Million Wishes. Those watching our excitement might have thought we had been asked to sleep in the castle! 😂

We weren't selected on the cruise we went on. But, my son was chosen to be in a parade at Magic Kingdom once when he was about 4. It was one of the highlights of that trip for sure!

On one of our cruises with DCL we were selected for a special meet and greet where we got to meet all of the characters before the See You Real Soon party at the end of the cruise. We have great pictures of us with all of the characters dressed in ther Halloween costumes

This happened to us on our Panama Canal cruise. My son and a friend would always cheer loudly for Jimmy when he came out to talk before the evening show. On our last night we past him in the hall and he asked us where we were going? Told us where to go and to tell them Jimmy sent us. It was so amazing!

Not exactly the same thing but my son got picked to pull the sword out of the stone at MK--it was really cute: they had a bunch of muscular guys in the crowd try and fail to pull it out, and then they picked my tiny then-five year old to do it and it "magically" rose from the stone when he pulled it. Got some great video on my phone :D

Us too! My older DD was counting her character interactions all cruise and caught the CMs attention - this meet and greet was an amazing way to end the cruise!

Around 10 years ago, we were selected to open Hollywood Studios. We participated in a little skit with the Citizens of Hollywood while we sat in their car. They asked our DD what ride was her favorite. She picked Rock N Roller Coaster but it was temporarily closed, so her second pick was Tower of Terror. They drove us down Sunset Boulevard with the crowd trailing behind us. We then got to ride in our very own elevator. They gave us a photo - it was funny to see us as the only ones on the ride!

We have experienced Disney ‘Magic’ on three occasions. The first was on the ‘Magic’ in 2010, we sailed back to back on the Dover-Barcelona repo cruise and then a med cruise totalling almost 20mnights on board. over that period of time we kept the same state room and very quickly we started to build up a collection of towel animals from the night time turn down, my kids loved them and didn’t want to destroy them so they had pride of place in the porthole...towards the end of our second leg of the b2b the housekeeping staff made us family of the week and as well as in room treats, we also had a whole double bed of towel animals appear one night and the kids had a lesson on how to tie their own towel ‘baby duckling’ which they still have to this day!

The second occasion was again on the ‘Magic’, we were chosen as family of the day on a Christmas cruise....we arrived at the check in desks prior to the cruise all wearing Christmas Disney Hats ..DH had Stitch Ears, DD had a Santa hat with Mickey ears, DS had goofy with long ears and bells-jingling and I had Minnie ears with Holly on the bow...all purchased from a previous trip to Disneyland Paris. The cast members at the desk thought we’ll looked great and so arranged for us to be the family of the day with priority boarding with announcements, and treats in the stateroom all week including extra lithographs, soft toys and edible treats.

The third took place at Disneyland California. We were looking for a spot to stand for the end of the afternoon parade and asked a cast memeber where would be best...he directed us the right at the top of min street with the best view of the castle and therefore the on coming Parade...we also received VIP passes for the evening ‘Fantasmic’ show, Again getting the best seats in the house!.

All these experiences aside...every cruise(17) has been full of Disney ‘Magic’ in one way or another, and feel so privileged to have done so.

My wife and I were selected as the family of the week for one cruise.

We ordered the sail away platter on embarkation day. After more than an hour and we had not received it, we called to ask about it. They said no one answered when they tried to deliver, so they sent another one. Again we didn't hear anyone try to knock on our door, so we called again. The person laughed and we ordered again. This time we threw the deadbolt so the door wouldn't close completely. We did get the sail away platter that time and they made us the family of the week and sent us treats every day.

Did a family trip to WDW with our adult kids and grandkids. One day, out oldest daughter planned an extra magic day at the studios so the grownups could do the ToT and RRC rides. Turned out that the day she had planned this for was NOT and early extra magic hour day. Guess the CMs felt sorry for us and made us the family of the day and we opened the park. Called back to the rest of the family so the grandkids were able to get there in time to open the park.

Not quite as bad as the time that same daughter went to WDW with her boyfriend for Star Wars weekend the weekend before the start of the Star Wars celebration.
