I bid on something that I felt I had put too high of a max bid on and watched all day long and finally someone outbid me. I would have paid for it if I had won it but am glad I didn't. Have you ever been relieved to be outbid?

Yes, but DH says it doesn't happen often enough! eBay is an addiction for me. Sometimes I go overboard with a bid and breathe a sigh of relief when someone bids over me!

No, but I've been glad my dh didn't win. He's really into guitars and has too many and knows too much about them to be interested in the cheap ones.

It doesn't happen often - but yes, I have felt that sense of relief at being outbid a time or two!

There have been plenty of times I was so happy to be outbidded, not many but a few. LOL!!

Now for DH, the stuff that he bids on I am so happy when he gets out bidded. He is into saltwater fish and corals. The price for the upkeep of his tank is outragous, then on top of that adding things to the tank can break the bank. Best part about our Ebay account is, if he gets outbidded, the email goes to my email account, which he can't get into. The only way he will know if he gets outbidded is if he looks in "My Account" on Ebay. Which he forgets to do alot and I don't tell him about the email saying he has been outbidded.
But that is only between us....SSSHHHH!!!!! LOL!!!

I felt relief when I was outbid on a refurbished Kodak digital camera and then found a NEW one for 20.00 cheaper than my highest bid. Guess everything does happen for a reason.

Your secret is safe with us! ;)

Yes, also bad when you have the buy it now option and think that's to much
so you bid and it goes way over the original buy it now price.

I was bidding on a "seems too good to be true" computer. (From a seller with lots of pos. feedback.) I knew it was too cheap but I just couldn't resist. I got sniped at at the last second. When I checked on that auction a week later the seller was "no longer a registered user" and all his auctions were ended early.
My guess is someone highjacked a reputable seller's account but I don't really know.

Oh, yeah! I stopped bidding at $50 for a plate with the tartan pattern of a boyfriend's clan. A nice little gift item...then I found out less than a week later, he was 'engaged' to someone else.

Thank goodness!

Once in a while I am relieved when I get outbid. I try to keep a level head and figure out my bottom line before bidding but every once in a while ...

Sorta the opposite for me. ;) A guy that I work with collects the same item that I buy for my DH on Ebay. Seems he wasn't going to be home to do his usual snipe ploy so he put in a very high max. bid. Well, I'd never seen that exact item and it was extra special to DH because it had to do with a personal friends history so I finally out bid the guy. He came in to thank me the next time we both worked together because he truely did not want the item at the price he bid. Thankfully, we've never seen the item again!

Oh, I was glad last week.

I bid on something for my dh as a gift. I wasn't sure I should be sinking so much money into something I really wasn't that sure he wanted. So I outright asked him, "is this something you want." he said no. But I was the high bidder. about an hour before closing, someone outbid us.!! yah!
