Have you ever been given a gift too expensive to accept?

I've received large monetary gifts several times and each time I accepted it graciously - and then drove the givers absolutely insane by thanking them again and again and again - every single time I saw them, for God only knows how long..

They probably wished they had never given it to me..

I have no problem acepting any gift, large or small. My theory is that if the gift-giver is giving a large gift, then presumably they can afford it. Ifit is a small gift, then I appreciate it just as much because of the good thoughts/wishes behind it.

That being said, if I thought someone was giving me a gift with a "motive" behind it, or in order to have some "leverage" later on, I'd have a hard time accepting that gift.

I absolutely refuse to accept all those large amounts of money offered from Nigeria.
