Have you ever accidentally left something behind when returning from vacation?

Well just yesterday I almost left a suit behind after attending a wedding. I just happened to see it hanging up right before leaving. I am not used to traveling with a garment bag and a suit now, so had it in my head I just needed to deal with a suitcase.

If I forgot anything else over the years, I guess it wasn’t important enough to miss!

Yes. A few times. I left a pillow at a hotel. They mailed it back to me. I left a phone charger also but I didnt bothter to call about that.

My daughter left a stuffed dog at my grant aunts house. She found it a couple months later underneath the guest room bed and mailed it back.

Yep. We left behind a Playstation Portable (PSP) in an Atlanta hotel once. I called back but surprisingly, no one had seen it. :upsidedow I'm a bit obsessive now with last-minute, before we lock the door, room checks since that happened.

Left a tote bag and some souvenirs in our Aulani room.
They never sent them back

Ugh, yes! Somehow I just left the clothes DH and I were wearing on July 4, in Foley's Guesthouse in Killarney Ireland. IDK how we missed them. I didn't realize they were gone until I finished all of our vacation laundry when we got home. Luckily nothing was expensive, but both pairs of pants and one shirt were brand new. :(

My dd left a Harry Potter souvenir at Wilderness Lodge Villas (Boulder now). We did not realize it until we were home a few days since she did not unpack right away. I called Wilderness Lodge Villas and I was directed to lost and found. Housekeeping had turned it in and it was mailed back to us within days. Thank you to housekeeping.

On our very first trip, DH left his keys at FW (Back then, it was a FW Trailer Home). Fortunately the housekeeper had found them, and we got them 1 1/2 days later nicely boxed up. Thirty six years later and we still remember.

Once left a small key chain with a house key and our mailbox key in a room safe at Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Orlando. They shipped it back very fast, either FedEx or UPS express mail. I won't do that again, at the time it was our only mailbox key, now we have a few more.

I'm always very careful to check hotel rooms before leaving. DS24, on the other hand, is another story! He lives in another state and came home to visit this past April. DH was driving him to the airport to catch a red-eye home. A few minutes after they left, DS called and said, "I left my Apple Watch on Dad's charger!" This is because he forgot to bring his own watch charger. So I found the watch and ran it out to the car when they pulled up. While he was on the plane, he texted, "Um, Mom, can you check my room and see if I left my Air Pods?" Yes. I found them on his dresser. He said he had an older pair in his apartment and could use those for a while.

Last week, we flew to the east coast and met up with him for a few day. I was sure to bring the Air Pods with us and he was happy to have them back. He stayed with us at an AirBnb for a few nights. After he left the AirBnB and before we checked out he called me. "Um, Mom. Can you check the bedroom and see if I left my Air Pods?" My other son had been in the bedroom packing and came out holding the Air Pod in question. "Yes. Once again, I have your Air Pods." Luckily, we had planned to meet up with him for a quick breakfast before heading to the airport. He is currently reunited with his Air Pods...for now.

My wife left a Tiffany necklace at the Disneyland Hotel. It was a gift from her sister that was pretty sentimental to her. She had it hanging in the sink area each day. We were about 2 hours down the freeway when she realized she didn't have it on. No luck in trying to have the hotel track it down.

Who hasn't? I've seen a USB power adapter left behind and plugged in when I got to a hotel room. Apparently hotels have lots of those and can't really identify the owner. They'll typically just hand out one of them if someone claims one was lost because it's difficult to catalog.

Left a hat once on a plane. I also remember my wife forgot clothes at our hotel in Lake Tahoe. But we went to Reno and called in and they actually had them in their lost and found, where we stopped by on the way home to pick them up.

Backpack at PORFQ's food court. When we realized we had left/lost it, we called Lost and Found and they had it! We had another trip planned, so we got it back the next trip!

Sadly, I left a drawerful of undergarments & a nightgown. I was pretty upset but too embarrassed to call about it. It was a rental home and I always unpack and use the dressers and my dh never unpacks his suitcase and he teased me mercilessly. That was an expensive drawerful to replace - all Victoria Secrets panties & bras. :(
