to wdw that is! we are going nov 6-17 and i haven't booked yet, keep hoping that the price will come down some, right at 200 now.

what are you finding for your november trip? where are you flying from?

should i book the $200 now?

any info greatly appreciated!

I keep looking and hoping for a better rate too! I have found as low as $106ish (flying from Raleigh, NC). I'm leaning towards eitehr Southwest or Delta ('cause they have straight through flights, but with 3 small kids seating is an issue!)

Have you checked Yahoo's travel section? I've found cheap rates there... Also www.airgorilla.com has good rates, but the "service" fee is almost $20 per person.

I'm not thrilled about flying in the first place, but 2 hours as oppsed to 9 in the car with 3 kids sounds awfully nice!

Good luck!!!

I booked our flights on SWA for Nov 15- 22 a couple of weeks ago. We're flying non-stop from Indianapolis - MCO. The tickets were $131.50 each (including tax, etc.) for a total of about $657 for the 5 of us. I will have 3 kids with me (one in a carseat) and my dad. I have been thinking about the seating issue too. I've been told that SWA uses 737's which appear to be configured with 3 seats on each side of the aisle from what I can find. Although there are no seat assignments on SWA, I have been told that families with kids are seated first, so I'm not too worried about us being together.

Why is Detroit so high compared to everyone close to us?!

Booked last year in September for November. Had been monitoring prices and got $219.00, which was second lowest fare for November. Went to $199.00 for a couple of days after that, then went up higher than $219.00.

Been watching this year. So far prices for November 27-December 7 haven't changed in months $305.00 on NWA. But noticed that they start to jump around about three months out. Right now rates are lower than $305.00 through October.

I check everyday and I am ready to jump in, but I will probably start getting serious about booking in August/September. Right now NWA is offering a promo fare in early October of $171.00, so hopely September will have some better prices for November.

Have absolutely no idea whether there is any rhyme or reason to my monitoring, but it keeps me busy and off the streets! (LOL!)

I don't know where in Ohio you're located, or where Shelby Township, MI is located, but there is a new airline flying out of Toledo, OH starting Aug. 28th nonstop to Orlando (Sanford International). The flight leaves Toledo at 7:30 am, getting in at 9:55, and Leaves Orlando at 7:10pm for the return. I just checked airfare though them today for the first week of December, and they are showing a one-way rate of $75.05 (for three of us the total was just over $483 RT). While we are not taking advantage of it due to the town car rate being $100 more than from the Orlando airport (thereby making it the same price as a Delta flight from CMH), it would work for someone that is renting a car. The airline is predominantly charter and is based out of Atlanta, but other than that, I don't know anything about the company. Here's their website if you're interested:

Good luck!

We have not booked our airfare yet for 10/31-11/9. When we went in fall 2000 we got our tickets in April so I am getting a little nervous.

We have been trying to hold out to get non-stops. On NWA they are $281. We could do connections for about $250. What a deal! We thought we would wait until end of July and maybe decide then.

We do have some limitations on the times. We need to be to MCO early due to MNSSHP on 10/31. We have to come back Sunday after 1:00 because we are getting off the DCL!!

There is a charter company, Sun Country, who has non-stops with good times for around $250. They have had financial problems and I think they might be in bankruptcy, so I am a little cautious.

We got airfare of $160 on DL last time, but missed the super prices a few months ago.

We will just keep waiting and keeping our fingers crossed.

Laura

I booked for our November trip (5th - 13th) a couple months ago when I found a decent rate through Continental. We're flying non-stop out of Cleveland for $186 round trip. The flight times were ideal for us and I knew I wanted non-stop so I grabbed it knowing that I might find it cheaper later. However, I think it was a good move since the same flight is now over $300!

Yes Soccormom has hit it on the head. Prices are still near $300 pp from Detroit from Nov 27 to Dec 6. I'm thinking of flying out of Flint. NW has airfare from Flint to Detroit then to Orlando for 191.50pp while the direct flight from Detroit is at 300pp ridiculous crap from NW. Thanks for the ehads up on Toldeo Transmerdia, I'll check into it.

Soccormom me and DS and DD (3) and DS(1) will be at CR Tower , can't wait just hope air gets reasonable, also some room codes would help, since I have DisneyCLub discount only right now.

We are flying South West out of Islip Long Island Nov. 13 to 24. The price each way was $59.53, non stop. Add in taxes and fees and it came to $140.00 round trip. Thats $700.00 for the five of us.

Jess, how old are your kids? Under 4 or 5 allows you and the kids to preboard on SWA. Delta no longer preboards children.
Get there early and you will have no problem getting seats together on SWA.

Yes, they are 737's and it is 3 and 3. Preboarding is allowed for families with kids under 4 or 5 ( I really cannot remember, but, I am leaning towards 4 and under) after people with special needs. Getting there early and getting your boarding pass with an A or B on it will pretty much insure your being seated together if you have to board with the rest of the pax.

Nate71369,

Thanks for the info. I do try to keep track of Flint Bishop too. Although I have heard great things about flying out of Bishop, relatives had a little trouble because Bishop does not have heavy snow removal equipment. They were flying out a couple of winters ago and couldn't because of a heavy snow. Bishop quickly called in a bus and bussed everyone to Metro where they caught up with there flight and everything worked out, but now the question is...will we have snow at Thanksgiving this year?!

Buffett010,

Toledo sounds good too. Shelby Township is about 90 minutes north of Toledo. Even an extra $100 for the town car sounds okay if I'm saving over $100 on each of four tickets!

I bought in March when Delta was having a one day sale. Got tix for $137.50 out of MSP. Beats NWA by a lot and only a stop in Atlanta. Did this in June and it was no biggie.

Keep an eye on Delta this week though. They have been having these one day sales every other month so far this year and its always been around the middle of the month. You never know you may pick up a bargain.

Although I agree that non stops are easier and much preferable. But NWA and Sun Country have been so high. I can handle making a stop if it means saving over $150 per person.

My only suggestion for November is that if you are flying either the day before Thanksgiving or the Sunday after BOOK SOON! Those are the two busiest days in the industry and those flights will sell out. (To get around this, I fly to visit my friend Thanksgiving AM and return Sat pm!)

How early is "early"? Will 2 hours be sufficient? My youngest is 2 so we fit the "kids" criteria, but just to be sure I want to be there in plenty of time.

Just booked a flight out of Lehigh Valley International (Allentown, PA)Nov. 10 - 17,2003 It was only $140.50 per person. Total 602.00. Not bad considering if we went out of Phila International it was almost 1200.00. We can drive an extra hour to save $600.00. (We've never used this airport before)
