I was just wondering if everyone had started booking their table service meals during the free dining? I need some recommendations! I want to dine at Cinderella's Castle but i don't want to be the only adults there. Where is everyone eating?

A lot of us have the obsessive habit of making ADRs as soon as the 180-day window opens, or as soon as we book. There's tons of discussion about ADRs on the Restaurants board.

Book when you can... the sooner the better... and as for dining at Cinderella's castle there will be plenty of bigger kids there! No need to worry...

All done a month ago. I wouldn't wait too long.
Went to CRT last year, two adults and returning this year. We did lunch and are doing that again.
:wizard:

Dinner at CRT is still kid-intensive but not a real "princess" meal. You get a picture with Cinderella before you are taken upstairs and there is a short "show" - song and quick run around the room by The Fairy Godmother and the two girl castle mice. Any meal in WDW if fine even for the BIG KIDS!!! No need to feel out of place!

We found dinner very nice for just the two of us. We were seated at a table for two on the perimeter of the room and were overlooking the little Cinderella fountain. But you are very close to the other tables. It didn't seem that intrusive because of the angle we were at.

The meal is fine and we liked it though if you ask on the DINING thread you may get a different story. It also is 2 (TWO) table-service so be prepared. (We liked it and would go again :thumbsup2 - so many fun restaurants - so few trips yet!!)

If you ask on the dining thread about the breakfast and lunch or look at the menus... etc ... you may get some more information. But definately make your ADRs if it is within 180 days. I'm not counting yet cause I don't go until Feb 08 :sad2: !

Book your ADRs ASAP! With free dining, the restaurants are going to be a bit crazy. In regards to character meals, I am doing two solo (LTT and CP) for my birthday weekend. The character meals are for people of all ages!

Paid my deposit on 4/26 and made my ADRs on the spot for our Aug/Sept trip.

I'd recommend Boma if you haven't tried it.

Or before we book:rolleyes1--we were planning on mid-August, hoping for free ddp then, and made 2 weeks worth of ADR's. Once the dates became fairly certain (and didn't include early August:headache:), we decided kind of last minute to try for late September. But I wanted to make sure I'd be able to get all the ADR's I wanted, so I (and many others, I'm sure) made all of them the weekend before the free ddp booking window opened.

To the OP: If you want Le Cellier for dinner, you may already be too late. I'm hearing they're completely booked up for dinners for September. Most other places you should still be able to get into, if you're flexible with your times and if you book soon.

As for recommendations, I'd urge you to try a variety of different types of restaurants (popular choices in parentheses). Try the buffets (Boma), the character meals (Chef Mickey's), the family style places ('Ohana), the classics TS restaurants (Le Cellier). Eat in the parks (esp at World Showcase in Epcot), at resorts (Kona), at DTD (Wolfgang Puck's). Eat at some places for the unique atmosphere (Coral Reef, Sci-Fi), at others for the unique "personalities" of the CM's (Whispering Canyon Cafe, 50's Prime Time Cafe), and at others for that one thing you can't get anywhere else (twin lobster tails at Cap'n Jacks).

And don't worry--2 adults won't feel out of place anywhere, so if someplace sounds good to you, go for it. Have fun planning!

You definitely want to book soon as a lot of places are getting full.

It's just the two of us and we are having dinner at CRT this year. I can't wait to eat in the castle.

Here's where we are eating for the week.

Biergarten
Raglan Road
Coral Reef
CRT
Ohana
Chef Mickeys

Happy Planning!!!:tigger:

I'd book your ADR's as soon as the 180 day window opens. I started planning where DH & I are going to eat already (color coded chart) for each day and we don't go until August 2008!!! *lol* They might change but at least I'll have an idea

The restaurants are going to be very busy so i would say book your ADR's asap!!
We have free dining for 3 weeks and here is where we are dining,

'Ohana breakfast
Maya Grill dinner
1900 Park Fare breakfast at the Grand Floridian as its having a refurb.
Yachtsmans Steakhouse
California Grill dinner
Crystal Palace breakfast
Chef Mickeys dinner (DS's 5th birthday!!)
Brown Derby dinner
'Ohana dinner
Rose and Crown dinner
Kona Cafe dinner
Boma breakfast and dinner
Whispering Canyon Cafe
Mickeys Backyard BBQ
Jo-Jo and Goliaths lunch
Narcoossees dinner
Le Cellier dinner

Feeling a bit hungry now!!!

We booked our ADR's way back at the 180 day mark. I've heard that its getting harder to get into some places already. Anyhoo, here is a list of where we are dining.

Chef Mickeys breakfast
Crystal Palace dinner 2x's
Kona Cafe lunch
WCC dinner
Ohana dinner
Cape May Buffet
Le Cellier/Teppenyaki (we are splitting up that night)
Coral Reef
Captain Jacks

We booed our ADR's before we booked our trip.

We are eating at:

Crystal Palace-BF
Kona
Le Cellier
Mama Melrose
Whispering Canyon.

Definitely get working on those ADR's. I called yesterday to change some times on mine and was unable unless I wanted dinner at 9:00 p.m. and that doesn't work well for my kids. The ones that I tried to change and were very booked up for the 3rd week in Sept were LeCellier (booked solid when I called), Cinderella's Gala Feast, Hollywood & Vine, and Crystal Palace.

We haven't booked any ADR's yet. We are waiting to find out if dh gets a supervisor position. We have a quote on hold. I just don't want to schedule everything to have to cancel it all. Hopefully he will get the job!!

ETA: Last year we did not make ADRs for free dining until the middle of July and we were still able to eat every where we wanted. We were even able to get a Fantasmic package a few weeks after that.

Our vacation starts September 1st. We booked our ADRs two days ago- no problems. We got everything we wanted so far.

Le Cellier
Cape May breakfast buffet
Chef Mickey breakfast buttet
Crystal Palace supper buffet
50's Prime Time.

We also had California Grill, but decided against it.

made my dining ressies when i booked my resort for aug. 31-sept.04 and I put my package deposit down on April 26. I went ahead and booked dinner at Chef Mickeys, since we've only had breakfast there and have loved it and a few other ADR's for the rest of our trip that were not character dinings, but don't worry about the only adults thingy b/c we always do character dining on every trip and were only just us two adults plus we've always seen a couple of other diners that are only adults also, so that shouldn't stop u from enjoying a charcter dining experience, besides its a lot of fun b/c u get to act like a little kid again w/out having people looking at u funny. That's what Disney is all about.:goodvibes ;)

I called early this morning for our Sept 21-30 trip. Le Cellier was a no go and I got a few unfortunate times (Coral Reef at 8:15 when we're there specifically to see Illuminations at 9!). I will try calling back but it is definately more booked up earlier than last year! Here are ours:

'Ohana Dinner
Park Fare/GF Cafe Character Dinner
Kona Dinner
Coral Reef
Brown Derby Fantasmic
Sci Fi
Boma
Breakfastosaurus
Spoodles
Chefs de France

I'm pretty happy overall!

I just made 3 of my ADR we are eating at the crystal palace for lunch our first day, 50's prime time cafe for dinner on sept 15, and CRT for lunch on sept 16. It was the only time available all day! I just can't make up my mind about where to eat at epcot! There are just so many options! which would everyone recommend?
