Have you been with a 7yr old -best dinner times?

I am trying to gage this dining plan and figuring out what will work best..
so I can book ADR
anyone ideas?

When we went last July my DD was almost 7 (3 months shy of it). Are you looking for ideas on CHaracter meals? If so, we did plenty. Do you have a boy or girl?

Yes I have been to Disney with a 7 yr old.

We did our charactor Breakfast at 7:20 am at Chef Mickey, it was the only time I could get ADR for the day we wanted to go. It was great. All the other days we ate at the food court at our resort before heading to the parks.

Most of our ADR were for dinner except for the chef mickey above and one lunch at the Sci Fi Diner in MGM or Disney Studies as it is now called.
Our dinner ADR were in the 6:30 - 7:30 range.

I would stick with times you normally eat meals. I like to get one character at Magic Kingdom before park opens so we can get pics without the crowds too. Later meals, I just checked to make sure we didn't miss any parades we wanted to see.
Our June trip my kids were 7,7,4,1.

We did one breakfast around 8 (it was a non-park day) and the last day we did a 9 am breakfast.

For dinner we booked everything pretty close to 5:30. That is when we eat at home and it let us swim in the afternoon, get to dinner and still have time for a few rides after eating (any time we were in a park that is!)

For dinner, first seating (5-5:30) always worked best.
We do room service or CS for breakfast

I would stick with times you normally eat meals.

I totally agree. If you stay as close (as you can) to your normal dining times, it will be less stressful on everyone! After a full day in the parks, your 7yr old will be pretty exhausted, so you may want to plan on a nap sometime in the afternoon. That may bump your dinnertime a little later than usual.

I have taken my niece and nephew (both 7 at the time) and I just made ressies for when they would usually eat at home (around 6:30p or 7p). As for breakfast I would make it for early (7:15a or 7:30a) so we could go to a park after, get in a swim break during the hottest part of the day and then head over to whichever park/resort we were eating at.

Stick with how you eat at home and you should be fine. ENJOY!!!

I have an 8 yob and agree with previous posts that you should eat your meals as close to your meal time at home. We always eat breakfast at around 7'ish and dinner around 6. Character meals are a must so you don't have to wait in line in the parks to get their autographs....believe me it saves a lot of time. On our previous trip ( 8/07), we ate at Chef Mickey, Crystal Palace, and Garden Grill. Have a great trip.

My dd was 6 1/2 when we went last year and we will be there again for her 8th bday. She is a VERY picky eater but was able to find something to eat wherever we went. The buffets were great for her (Crystal Palace, Akerhaus, Bomas, Breakfastosaurus) but she liked Tony's, Sci-fi Dinner (even more than I did!). I did bring lots of snacks so if she wanted something in between meals it was something I knew she would like. Good luck!

What time does your seven year old eat at home? Then those are the best times for him/her to eat at Disney World.

When my son was growing up, we usually didn't eat dinner until 8:00 because of how late we got home from work. That time worked best for us for any other meal out as well.
