At the hospital in July when I had surgery.

I changed my insulin pump this morning, so that's a long needle in the tummy. I also gave myself a shot of Procrit, for anemia, on my tummy.

Insulin pumps rock!!! I love mine.

I changed my set yesterday. I also had my port accessed for IV antibiotics last Thursday. Blood draw the other morning too.

Back in August. I went to the ER at night for SEVERE abdominal cramping. It was so bad I thought I was going to die. They gave me a shot of morphine for the pain and let me say that I can totally understand how people can become addicted to that stuff.

My godson was given that when we took him to the ER because he was having really bad abdominal pain and vomiting, it was his appendix. It was pretty comical though once it started to work. He was laying there with his eyes half open on the gurney and suddenly his ears started to wiggle. Then he started making all these funny faces and when his mother and I started laughing at him, he looked at me and stuck his tongue out.

The good news is that this should be the last set of shots I get-- surgery next month is going to cure this, I know it will. (I need a praying smilie here)

And flu shot 2 weeks ago.

OMG, I hope that works out for you. I just can't imagine getting a shot in my foot. Makes me feel all kinds of squinky on the inside just thinking about it.

Yes, just this morning actually!! I had my third round of epidrals in my back for two herniated discs. Plus they couldn't get the IV in so they had to do that twice. I think the IV is the worst part!!

I had a local anesthetic then a lidocane shot in my hipbone last week before a bone marrow biopsy. Then shot into the bone really hurt, but I'm glad I had it, the doc got a little frustrated and had to go 3 times for the biopsy; it hurt afterwards for a week.

DPartner got to give me an injection on HCG last night, and boy did my arm react! SHEESH! It's for TTC, so hopefully it'll do the trick!!

I've never had morphine, but I know my vicodin makes me all warm and fuzzy.

In about 2 hours, I'll be giving myself an injection of Humira. I do it every two weeks.

Tomorrow I'll get my allergy shot, which is no biggie. Plus some labs drawn but those aren't really injections.

I've gotten over the fear of needles now. Didn't have much choice!

I was terrified of needles before I became diabetic. It would take 3-4 adults to hold me down as a child. When my choice became needles or dying though, I got over it quick.

Last Thursday I had a hollow needle shoved into my breast, they vacuumed out cells to biopsy, then injected a small metal chip in to leave there so they can find the same spot later if they need to.

Thankfully the phone call came yesterday that they didn't find anything bad.

Oh, there were a few other shots before the biopsy needle went in to numb me up first, thankfully. It's been pretty sore ever since though.

The last time I had any kind of injection was a shot of Demerol in the butt when I broke my arm. The shot itself didn't hurt (esp. not in comparison to the arm!) but the drug made me severely woozy and nauseous, broke out in an instant cold sweat, etc. Blech.

My mom has rheumatoid arthritis and has to give herself shots in the stomach all the time. I don't know how she does it.

That was me, too, as a child! My parents are amazed I have come full circle. Giving myself the injection of Humira was my hardest hurdle to jump - esp since the medication hurts a lot. The nurse had to give me a pep talk the first time I did it (in office so I could be shown how). Took me an hour before jabbing the first one. I still have to do a pep talk with myself everytime.

It's hard to inflict pain on yourself but when you start to consider the alternative, it's not so hard!

yes today as a matter of fact. I have tenosynovitis in both hands(it causes trigger fingers) So i went today because of a new nodule and we decided no surgery for now and he offered me either anti-inflammatory meds by mouth or I could have an injection of cortisone...now Ive had cortisone in my right hip so many times...with a syringe that looks more like the largest silver cased magic marker you can find , with a needed that looked the size of a pencil sticking out of it..no biggie...I too have had my sacros injected, my piriformis musle..its the deep one in the butt under the one that makes your butt shapely,no biggie got through that one. Ive had the top of my foot injected,painful but doable....also had 5 supartz injections after surgery to repair a torn ACL, so Im thinking...hands no problem. Boy was I stupid. There are so many more nerve endings in the hand !! They went in right on the pad of my hand at the base of my middle fingers....on both hands !! OMG I should have opted for they surgery at least I would have been asleep when they hurt the hell outta me. Then theres nothing like getting through the rest of teh afternoon with numb fingers from the lidocaine they mixed with it. On the good side he told me no mopping, sweeping, vacuuming for the next week...and he also mentioned no shoveling
It will put too much direct pressure on the area.
