We are considering going to WDW in early February. How are the crowds and the weather if you have been during this time? Please include any other info that would be helpful!

Thanks a lot!!!!

Feb is a great time to go! Temps are mild and the crowds are low. It was a little chilly this past Feb and we made the mistake of being there while the NADA convention was going on, but other than one busy weekend it was great.

We went this Feb, President's Day Week. It was crowded but no problme @ all thanks to TGM. We had great weather. Up to the 80's, only rained one day. I would love to go earlier in Feb and check out the low crowds too. Give it a try!

I do want to warn you that the weather in February is VERY unpredictable. Though mild temperatures are likely, you could have some mornings near freezing and afternoons stuck in the 40s to around 50. Anything is possible in Orlando in the winter!

Bring some warm clothes just in case. We came from up north late one February and didn't bring "winter" clothes, just light jackets, and we were miserable!
:santa:

Yes, it was VERY Cold this past Feb and rainy the first 2 days I was there. :guilty: It warmed up the last day and half.

I have been twice in February. It is a wonderful time to visit. Crowds are low except during President's Week. You do have to pack a variety of clothes. One trip we needed only shorts and lite jacket at night. Other trip some hot :sunny: days and a few really cold ones. :cold:

Feb 2002 we got stuck right between the Daytona 500 fans and Mardi Gras...VERY crowded at all of the parks. :sad2:

We went in February. While it is very low crowds, I agree that you need to avoid Margi Gras, Daytona and President's Week. We got there on the 9th the year we went and left on the 15th. When we got there it was really slow. When we left it was slow.

We arrived from Michigan on 02/11/06 to 78 degrees and sun...next day, Sunday, went to Animal Kingdom...windchill was in the 30's..extremely cold...had frost the next two mornings...warmed up during the day but was very cold at night...first cold trip for me, so I have been lucky... :firefight :tigger:

We went last year in Feb. & was there during the Daytona 500(main reason the guys wanted to go at this time)& for Presidents week. The only park that seemed to crowded was MK. The weather was gorgeous, plenty of sunshine & in the 80's. But it did get very cold a few nights, so pack for warm & cold weather.

The later in February you go, the closer you get to spring break. I went the last week of Feb 05. The crowds weren't bad most days, but I did run into some heavier traffic at the beginning of March. Zero minutes waiting for ToT. Zero minutes waiting for Space Mountain on the first day of my trip, but then it was 1 hour on the last day (a Thursday). 70 minute wait for Kilamanjaro Safari (on a Wednesday).

Of course you know that everyone's estimations of crowd sizes vary. One persons "crowded" is another person's "empty". I try to go by the Unofficial Guide guidelines: how long is the longest wait for the most popular ride. By that estimation, most of the crowds I experienced were very light 10-15 minute waits at most, but then there was a fairly crowded day or two.

OK, so now you have me worried. We have booked to go 11th thru' 18th Feb next year. I thought Presidents Day was just one day (Monday 12th). Should I be worried now? Is everywhere gonna be mega busy?

In 2007 President's Day is Monday the 19th, not the 12th. It's always the third Monday of February.

From the 11th-15th you will be fine. Things will get much more crowded starting on Friday the 16th.

we were there this past feb2-5 and crowds were low, no waits, weather was iffy, 80 when we arrived, pouring rain the next day, very chilly at night. prefer to go in may for better weather, but bigger crowds.

We have gone twice in the 1st week of feb. Really low crowds and cool/cold weather both times.

Mardi Gras is Tuesday, February 20th, so this will add to the crowds that week, too.

If you are going in the first part of February, the crowds should be light.

Weather will likely be all over the board, so pack a little of everything!

President's Day IS just one day -- but most schools here have the whole week off....thus higher crowds that week.

I have gone twice in Feb. Once was President's Week 2003 -- crowds weren't as bad as I expected and the weather was awesome....no rain the whole time we were there and mid 70s. We also went this past February, the week before President's week and as a previous poster mentioned, the 12th was sunny but very cool and very windy. The CMs at AKL were all wearing winter parkas and gloves. There was frost on the windshields both Monday and Tuesday morning but the temps. improved through the week...we had no rain. Crowds were quite reasonable....

The up and down refers to the crowds and weather. I've done President's Week the last three years. Yes, President's Day is Feb. 19 but many school in NY (and I think Mass) are off of school that week - I'm a teacher, that's why I've gone that week. The later in the month, the larger the crowds and the better chances you have for good weather.
The weather the last two years was up and down. Three years ago it was freezing the first day and that night and then slowly warmed up to about 70. Two years ago it was nice the whole time. This year it was cold the week before we got there and high 70s for most of our trip with it in the 60s and rainy the last day. You will need a jacket at night.
Crowds are bad over President's weekend and lighten up during the week. We started the parks on Tuesday and found the crowds fine.

Have fun.

I went this year Feb 4-11th and had an absolute blast!!!!!The crowds were pretty low during the middle of the week but picked up on the weekends due to Dance competitions they were holding... The weather to me was perfect .. sweatshirts during the morning and evening hours but during mid day was warm enough to swim.... and that was during a record cold snap they had this year!!! I walked on mist rides and never waited more than 20 minutes to ride anything!!! I also have gone to the world in late June and December and Feb is definately my favorite time to go!!! Crowds do piuck up considerably during Martin Luther King week due to vacation but I say go for it the werather is awesome compared to these cold Mass winters!! nice to take a break!!!
