LOL! forgot about the new little lizard addition!

We'll plan a little something to get to meet you..... perhaps a nice lunch somewhere.:wave2:

I can't believe I'm almost at the 50-day mark!!
I really want DBrother and DSIL to experience Boma while staying with us for the weekend at AKL CL in December, so I requested a 5:30pm PS on our arrival day. Don got right back with me and had secured the PS. AKL CL is so wonderful. His salutation said, "At your service". How NICE!!::yes::
So, looks like we'll have time to settle in, explore AKL a bit and then have dinner at Boma then hightail it to MK for MVMCP!!:moped: It is going to be sooo much fun:teeth:
Have a good day everyone:wave2:
P.S. Any tips as to why my photo won't display? Just the link?

I had to ask where the lounge was going to be located.

The CM said that it will extend out from the wall that you first face when you get off the main elevators. It will go over the empty space that sits behind where the food tables sit now. Does that make sense?

She first stated that construction was to begin in January and finish by Easter but then she said that it had been pushed back a little and will not finish until mid May. She also said that one of the Honeymoon suites will be closed then due to construction noise.

I also saw the 2005 rates posted. I still don't know why I can't book the suite but I'm going to keep checking. We just need a lot of space. It will be our first trip as a family of 5!! :D

I'm glad the WL is getting a lounge. I'm sure it will be wonderful!

I know what you mean for the "party of 5." We have 5 of us going together. 3 adults, 1 teen (almost an adult) and my son that will be 9 in July. It gave me a reason to get a suite though as if that's a "bad" thing - hehehehe ;) . Too bad WL doesn't have enough suite options like other resorts.

I guess it makes sense not to book a May room since they don't expect completion until April. There are usually delays in construction so I reckon they don't want to book it and then try to find another room to put you guys in.

I guess it looks like WL will be on the to-do list with BWI after this renovation.

How exciting about the WL getting a lounge! I do hope that they are able to keep the WL CL rates a little lower than the other resorts though (it helps the budget tremendously!). We want to try it for part of our 2005 December trip.

Just made my reservations at AKL Concierge Savannah View for January 7-9, 2005. Got the Manyama Sunset Safari for DH & I. At 65 days out I didn't think it would be available anymore.
:hyper:
:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :
Can you tell I'm bouncing off the walls right now. I got the AP rate of $384.68 tax included. Got it as a room only reservation so I have the 5 days prior cancellation policy. It's about the same price to book online, but the terms & conditions online say 46 day cancellation. I don't know that far out if a snow storm will come and make our trip impossible. We are leaving on New Years Eve to drive down from PA with ressies for Holiday Inn DTD the 2 - 7 then over to AKL from there. HI has a 48 hour cancellation policy so that is the beginning of the trip and gives us more than the 5 days needed for AKL.

Back to the Lounge for a double shot cap from The Mighty AKL Lounge Cappuccino machine and especially to say
THANK YOU BAMBITAMBY!! for my new signature pic ::MinnieMo :worship: :flower1: You are such a sweetie. Here is a virtual stargazer lily for you:flower3:

Off to do some chores:smooth:

Disneyholic Congrats on your reservation at AKL CL. You will fall in love...:teeth:

BambiTamby or any other LL's,

Does someone actually have the Pres. Suite at BWI booked in May?

It seems a little odd I wasn't able to book a suite at WL for May. Just wondering if anyone has a suite booked for that far ahead next year??

Thanks!!:D

I have a suite at AKL and a suite at CR booked for July. I think it's just a WL thing because of construction.

Bambi Tamby - YOU ARE AMAZING. :goodvibes

You are in charge of charity events, running a great business, helping to create joy for all of us with lizzard events and vacations. Helping everyone on the boards with answers and Now, we add to the list. ** Computer expert and troubleshooter.** Great picture you put on Johnsonet signiture, and I love the clippie on Storybookmum's pages.

This stuff is so new to me I have to wait until I get home tonight to have enough time to fight with my counter to remove it. I hope to put a clippie or maybe the picture of baby ankole on!

Thank you for making the boards more colorful and for all your knowledge and expertise.

:D

I am putting out fresh lemonaid, a excellent selection of tea's from around the world and a nice chilled bottle of 1985 Camus Conundrum (it's after noon out west) :drinking1 . On the sideboard is fresh scones, tea sandwiches, and slices of "death by chocolate.

Have a wonderful afternoon everyone!

OK.. lets say you make a phone call to your DH and say "WHy don't we just blow dodge and go to Disney for Christmas?" What if he says "We'll think about it". What if you know that is better than a "You're Crazy! What is wrong with you!" or "NO!" so you get on the phone to Disney while driving home *this is a normal thing, yes?* and you try to book AKL concierge for 20-26.. then just the 24-26... then the nice CM says "I have WL for those dates" so you say BOOK THEM..

I have 20-24 standard room WL
24-26 concierge WL
am I out of my mind? I haven't even looked at plane tickets yet

more later........ off to hockey!

But, I got these suites...hmmmm.....seems like it was a couple of months ago.
Only time in May they were available, too.

Angel...if you want a clippie, just PM me with your urls or ideas.:wave2:

VAgal...the suites on the CR 14th look very much like the Pres Suite, except for the master bedroom and bath.
The livingroom, wetbar, kitchen area, foyer, dining area and balconies are the same. HUGE!!!!!::yes::

So Rich gets to stay? Interesting. . .why does "Heather" sound like a familiar name in connection with Polynesian? Did she work there previously? Just curious. . .

Yes, Rich said he will remain as Poly CL manager, along with Heather as his co-manager. Claudia "had a better offer." I don't remember Heather at all, or whether she was at the Poly previously. Aida has moved to the back office to train front desk and concierge CMs and is working towards a management position. Melissa has taken over platinum planning, so it will be increasingly difficult for us "ordinary folk" to get her as our planner, but all the planners I worked with for this last trip were fantastic. There was some confusion about the items to be purchased for my in-laws, but that was a result of the way they bounce people around over there, from IPO to CL desk and back again. The lack of continuity must put a lot of strain on the CMs who have to go back and familiarize themselves with files someone else was handling. It seems like a lot of double work.

The cap machine is, alas, one of those "gas station" models, nothing as fancy as AKL's machine, but it was more than serviceable. Mocha was the only flavor available besides the coffee (decaf & regular), hot chocolate, cappucino, espresso and hot water. The machine was only in place a bit over a week when we arrived, so there could be changes/additions in the future. A shot of espresso topped off with regular coffee (from the machine or the pot) made quite a nice AM beverage. I do miss Ivette bringing us espresso and hot milk, though - no machine could replace the homeyness of that.

There were lots of new faces at the Poly, and our experiences with all were delightful. Jeffrey at the desk, and Erin & Jose in the lounge were special standouts. Jose was there during our last trip in August, but we didn't have the chance to chat with him then. He is the Sunday-Tuesday counterpart to Chef Dick and he makes a mean seaweed salad as an accompaniment to the Monday sushi.

Marilyn and Tara (who are mother & daughter) were working the desks together on several days, and we were struck again by what a strong family feeling the Poly possesses. This is the very atmosphere that makes it so hard for us to try another resort.

Still have a lot of catching up to do, in real life as well as here on the thread. We have not quite made the transition back to our everyday routine. It will be several days before I stop expecting fresh pineapple and crispy spring rolls waiting on my counter when I return home.

Thanks so much for the updates on the Poly CL. We'll be there soon and I'm glad to have some names of their best CMs. I look forward to getting to know them.

Liz, she's beautiful! What a great picture, how lovely to have it on!

Debbie, yes, you're crazy, and I love it! I hope it works out so you can go!

A lounge at WL....okay, I didn't know they didn't have one, good that it's going in!

Blessings to everyone, can't possibly stay up, worked a 13 hr shift without a lunch (WW ought to go well tomorrow night...).

Have I mentioned I hate dayshift?

Kris:crazy:

One more thing, Bamby, I've been wanting to tell you!

Everytime I get on here and I'm scrolling, Meredith demands to see "Mommy and Caroline and Mereph!" She finds my clippie and points to all the character, "Dere's Mommy wif her book, and der's Caroline wif her teddy, and der's Mereph wif her teddy bear all sleepin!"

Awwwww...thank you again, Bamby. This clippie has just been a delight.

Love,

Kris

Can you rememeber if the in-room safes at the Poly were big enough for a laptop? Dh wants to bring his.

I can't wait we are getting excited. We leave Friday morning. We are going to MNSSHP on the 31st. DH and I just finished getting our costumes together. He is going to be Ron Stoppable and I'm going to be Kim Possible. DS is going to be a Jedi and DD is Minnie Mouse. We have to have an extra suitcase to get our costumes in. I guess we will be shipping stuff home this time. We always seem to buy lots of stuff.
