Have you been "Bitten" by the Concierge "Bug"? aka The LIZARD LOUNGE!

Oh BambiTamby-Thanks for those wonderful pictures-now I know I made the right decision switching resorts mid way thru our vacation. The BC looks beautiful.
I'm still trying to change my first night at the GF from lagoon view to Sugarloaf-where I'm staying for the next four nights, then off to the BC. There must be a convention on Oct.23rd or its from that darn golf tournament. AARRGGHH. If I could get the first five nights of my vacation at the Poly or something I would switch. I'm aggravated. Any other ideas? I'm hoping to catch a cancellation somewhere. I don't want to change rooms three times during my vacation. Help me:crazy:

johnsonet - I'm going to keep trying for BWI! Concierge or bust - I love it!
mom_rules - Have fun at BWI - I'm jealous. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
GoofyJoofy - Thanks for all your input - I went ahead and reserved BC CL water view. Where was your room? Did you have a large balcony? I know that is where DH will want to be sitting! The DisneyZone map must be old because it refers to CL in past tense. Where is the lounge?
ead79 - The cake sounds wonderful - maybe DH and I should celebrate our 15th a little early!
BT - Love the pics - thanks so much for the link. Hope Sat. is fab!

DH said I should just make ressies wherever I want, but he did say maybe we should do that "concierge thingy"! I've decided to keep this all a surprise. We will just pull up to the resort and I'll love his reaction. And maybe celebrating our 15th is a good idea. I'd really like to convert my non-Disney DH on this trip so we can go more often! Anyone know if any BC CL rooms have king beds?

Yikes! I just realized our trip to celebrate mom and dad's 75th birthdays is just 30 days away!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I was starting to a bit jeleous of all your Dec folks ordering Christmas trees for your rooms and just read an idea on the MNSSHP thread to bring a few Halloween decorations for the room. OH BOY. I'll have fun trying to find something fun, festive and easy to pack! Maybe I can find Disney Halloween window clings......

minniesota - Not sure why the DZ refers to the BC CL in the past tense. The concierge floor is still the 5th floor. The concierge CMs sit just in front of the elevators and the lounge is in the area designated on the map as housekeeping.

We were upgraded to a water view room with a full balcony.
Actually we had what many consider is the best view, in room 5661.

Here is the link to BambiTamby's pictures of this room and the BC CL BT's BC CL Pix

I think it would just be best to request a room with a full balcony rather than a particular room. If the room in question is already in use, then the room assigner might not know what about that room you liked. Put your requests to the IPO staff, and rank them in priority order.

lovesdumbo Have fun decorating for Halloween! I found a small, VERY cute wire "Halloween tree" at Target last year. It was only something like $12.99 and looks great! Enjoy!

Once again, Debbie your ideas are wonderful - the tic tac toe idea is BRILLIANT! I am having so much fun with all of this...

So far our itinerary includes:
MVMCP evening of arrival...
Candlelight Processional (with dinner package) second night; no plans that day except to enjoy the resort - YES! That will be a first:crazy:

My Perfectly Princess Tea Party at the Grand Floridian ~ Day 3(surprise for my baby girl); only other plans are to see Osbourne Lights that evening:teeth:

CRT(also will be a surprise for DD)- hope I get it!!princess: princess: and morning at MK!

Sunrise Safari-Day5

That's all folks;) I really want to make the most of the Christmas season at WDW while also relaxing:crazy: and taking advantage of concierge...This is our first time going during the Holidays!
Any suggestions on what I may be forgetting? Thanks!
I'm setting out glasses of Cristal with raspberries while you ponder all these plans:wizard: :rotfl:

I called and canceled the Sunrise Safari for our trip. Because I figured I wanted to sleep in. Did I make a huge mistake and should I E-mail Don back and rebook it? My boys are 4, 4, and 10. AKL is thier fave resort do you all think this is a not miss for them, Or will the resort suffice?:o

REBOOK IT! During our first concierge stay in January I called the day before and asked about getting a refund if I cancelled that late. Since I couldn't, we went on the safari. I am so glad we did! I too, thought I had to sleep in a bit more than the sunrise safari allows. Just remember, after the safari, the fantastic breakfast, and an hour or two in the park you can go back to your room and catch that nap you missed! I really think the sunrise safari is a "do not miss" at AKL!

Liz>> I always breath a sigh of relief when I see you've covered the AKL misconceptions on the main board! I swear sometimes it seems as if we're dividing and conquering all of the misinformation on the resort! I was thinking they should hire both of us as AKL guides. We'd need a two bedroom suite, of course. During holiday weekends we'll go back and forth on which family gets the presidential suite! Naturally, we'll need both suites for a lizard meet. Ok, it is a dream, but isn't it a nice dream? It is better than my "Do you think if I dress up as chuck or dave I can make enough money to live here forever?" version of how to live at AKL for eternity! (DS was going to be Chuck, I was going to be Dave)

The cordials are out early tonight! Try some iced mocha, with amarula and kahlua laced on top! mmmmm! *going to make exactly that right now as my flights bought celebration!*

BambiTamby, thank you for the warm welcome!!! There's Cristal there?! I'll have an orange juice chaser to make it healthy.

Twinmom, with 2 4 year old twins and a 10 year old, I think you deserve a sleep in. If you're thinking now that you'll want that, I think you'll really want it later.

In fact, here, take this glass of champagne and go get cozy.

twinmomplus2new REBOOK IT! It was the HIGHLIGHT of our October 2003 trip!:bounce:
Debbie You're hilarious! "We'd need a two bedroom suite, of course." I'm in;) I'd be an AKL Guide for free, assuming I could live in the Royal Kuba:crazy:

Twinmom, have your children EVER let you sleep in? REBOOK!! Disney is not for sleep! UP AND AT EM, SOLDIER, there are animals to see!!! MOVE, MOVE, MOVE!!!

(whatever you think is best, really....)
:p

Well I caved and rebooked it. Actually as far as sleeping in. Last Decembers trip we stayed out quite late and didn't ever seem to get to a park until at least 11. they were sleeping till 10am on that trip.:)

Johnsonet.. Are you doing the safari in December? your counter seems similar to mine? We are now rebooked for the 11th.
Also, If you are still looking for ideas for a gift for your DD. as I said before the wonderful lady that does the gift/candy baskets I highly recommend. Honestly. a much better presentation than gifts of a lifetime or the Disney florist. She will ask you specific characters/movies your dd is interested in and customize the basket and the price to you. No cookie cutter offerings! PM me if you want her information.

Want to drop by on my way up to bed. Looks like everyone has been busy.

#1 Hockey Mom I am so glad you got your flights today. The days are going by faster now. Before you know it you will be there enjoying your family and friends.

Johnsonet I read some time back that Janet2k had Gifts of a Lifetime do a special activity for her daughter. It was for Christmas two or three years ago. It was a sort of a hunt for packages to place under the tree. Janet2k has pictures and captions, I don't remember where I saw it. Just do a search for Janet2k. You may want to contact Gift's and see what ideas they could come up with for your girls. I understand they can be expensive, but it would be unique. Then again the girls are still young, maybe save that for when they are a little older.:D

GoofyJoofy Howare you doing on your trip report. I am waiting anxiously awaiting a good read.

Twinmomplus2new
I am glad you rebooked your safari. There is one other idea. Book the sunset safari for just you and your DH. The twins and 10 year old could spend the evening at Simbas Clubhouse. You and your DH could have a wonderful evening touring the savannah followed by a gormet dinner. I have not attended.... YET....but will on October 15th. CL talks about it being the best tour and much more private than the Sunrise. Only 8 people on the sunset safari. I can't wait to see my DH face when he finds out we are going. :cloud9:

I had better grab a cup of tea and head to bed. Have a good night all!

Angel

Another quick post before I'm out the door!:moped:

Twinmomplus2new..so glad to see you rebooked the sunrise safari, but the Wanyama safari is INCREDIBLE!!!!
If you can get seats for two, please consider booking this also!
It is one of the BEST PERKS of staying AKL CL!::yes::

I have two sets of Wanyama Safari pics!
Loved it so much in March, we returned in June to take my parents PLUS VAgal and family joined us!

Click here to view my CL pics which include the Wanyama Safari.

Tomorrow is the big day!
But, today DH and I are celebrating our 10th ~:love2:
We're going to have a nice lunch together before I head back to the store to finish packing for tomorrow and finish my model-fittings.

Lots of pineapple bread, danishes, bagels, muffins, cereals, juices, milks....plus our Cappucino machine is all ready to go!
Kona coffee on the sideboards also!:teeth:

Have a wonderful DISney day!

CONGRATULATIONS BT AND HUSBAND!!! :bride: :groom:

Hello! DH and I are buying annual passes early next year and are wanting to go to Disney at Christmas. I am thinking of maybe surprising him with Concierge. What are all the benefits of Concierge? Is the price difference really high?

Possible resorts:
Wilderness Lodge
Polynesian
or Beach Club

Thanks,

~Amanda

First of all Congratualations on your Big day!

As for the Sunset Safari.... I have yet to use a babysitter other than my mom or SIL. So that at this point is a no go. I have thought breifly about them going to Simbas club house for an hour or so. But only thinking about it.
