Have you been "Bitten" by the Concierge "Bug"? aka The LIZARD LOUNGE!

Like so many of you, I have been glued to the news watching info about Frances. I pray for all in the path of this storm. I was glad to hear that it had been downgraded to a cat. 1, but I know that is certainly still destructive, so everyone is not out of the woods yet.

We got a message on our machine on Friday from Melissa at the Poly IPO. She just wanted to let us know that they had received our email requesting priority seatings (we sent it about 1.5 weeks ago), and they would get to our requests as soon as they could. She said they were busy right then making preparations for the approaching hurricane. Kudos to those hard working CMs! My dining ressies are EXTREMELY unimportant next to guest welfare. I'm sure they are doing a wonderful job keeping all their guests calm and comfortable. I was blown away by how considerate it was of her to even leave us a message.

Hope everyone is okay with this hurricane. I won't know for a few days how my grandmother's house made out. She lives in Vero Beach but evacuated. I tried to stay updated as much as I could. Had to work all weekend. Hope everyone is safe and well:D

So far, it looks like everyone is OK!

Angel...I concur with the other lizards, AKL CL is a fabulous way to wrap up a WDW vacation.
But, if you can't switch your dates with SOG, then by all means stay there first!

Word of warning.....You'll be SPOILED!!!!;) :p

Had a water main break inbetween the two buildings by my business yesterday! ACK! :earseek:
So thankful nothing in my store was damaged!:faint:

Well, I need to call a couple of lizards today and get this MAY LIZARD MEET in motion.

BTW.....I've CLEANED out my box again!

dreamflight... sending lots of prayer and ~*~*~* for a safe journey home!

Lots of chips, salsa, dips, sandwiches, popcorn, and bevies out on the sideboard!
Also, there's fresh mango smoothies!:sunny:

Everyone, have a wonderful and SAFE Labor Day!

We are scheduled to leave on Friday morning. Do you think it would be too much of a prob if I called the IPO line today? I haven't heard from anyone (understandably) and I haven't made any reservations for the upcoming weekend. (if there is even a trip-Thanks IVAN!!!)

For all you experts with concierge amenities, do they have toothbrushes and toothpaste in the rooms at the Boardwalk?? Any others besides the normal toiletries??? I know my trip is over a year away but like so many others on here, I have already started making a packing list. I have already emailed them and gotten a response as to how far in advance they want our ps requests. Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks!:D

I think it should be o.k. - I received an e-mail from GF IPO today indicating that I should call if I need anything. I sent an e-mail last week to Becky's attention (thanks, TammiMcMann) but she is apparently off due to "personal reasons" so I had a call on Friday from Denny. I guess today's e-mail was a follow-up. So far GF has been very responsive! Thinking of all the Floridians and hoping recovery is quick. Thanks, BT, for the goodies. Mmm--mango smoothies...

Hey there all you experts. Just wondering if anyone could give me ideas on toiletries at the Boardwalk Concierge. Do they just have the normal things or do they have things lie toothpaste and brushes?? I hate to email them too many times already. Also, any hints and tips on things not to miss the 1st week of December. Thanks for any hints and tips!! Glad everyone is safe!:)

Thanks minniesota!!!!

I will give them a try as soon as I pry the CC out of my napping DH's hand!!!

Should I have been assigned an IPO yet?

Mickeygirl- I am new to CL too but since you are leaving Friday, I think you should have someone as a contact by now. I'd call and just confirm all your previous arrangements and get a specific name so that you can contact that person again should anything else come up.

sfbank, I can't help you with Boardwalk but we were at BC and WL the first week of December and loved it! Don't miss the tree lighting ceremony in Epcot - it happens every evening and is inspirational. Also, there are storytellers at the various countries describing their Christmas traditions. My kids loved Germany's and England's stories. The Candlelight Processional brought tears to my eyes. We didn't arrive in time for seats but we just stood in the back and listened. The music, narration and tingle in the air was an emotional high for me. We loved looking at the decorations at the various resorts. ANd one day we just happened on a Christmas caroling session in front of the giant tree in the lobby at the GF. The CM's wrapped red and white striped scarves around our kids' necks and they joined them in singing some favorite holiday songs. Priceless. Have a wonderful time - I'd love to go back at that time!

sfbank Yes, they have toothbrushes and toothpaste. Last year my husband forgot to pack a razor and shaving cream and mousekeeping brought it up to him. I really like the lotion they provide also. I can't help with the 2nd part of your question, I have never been in Dec.

Jackie from the BW called to let me know everyone was safe and sound. She has no power at home but has been at the BW as part of the ride-out crew. I am so glad I heard from her. She has become a very special friend and I cannot wait to see her again!

BT Jim and I are going out, but should be home around 6 my time. I will talk to you then.

Minniesota glad to hear that you heard from the GF. One less thing that you need to be concerned with.

So, how has everyones experience been with pre-planners lately? I think I might need a Yacht Club miracle worker. We'll be there from 12/10-12/13 and I only have one night available that we could do an Illuminations cruise. I just noticed that Mousefest is going to be at the Swan during the same time and their itinerary shows Illuminations cruises for every night. Yikes! Who gets priority, a huge group or a concierge guest? I thought maybe plan "B" could be an Illuminations dessert party, but Mousefest already has that one reserved. Wishes is just not an option and we'll be seeing the special one on 12/12 with MVMCP. I did just send off an e-mail to IPO verifying that they have my reservation in their "pending" system. Guess that's the best I can do. It's in the hands of the pixie dust gods.

Glad to hear that all is well with family and friends in the sunshine state.

TammiMcMann-
Sending lots of PD your way! What is Mousefest? Please keep us posted on your YC experience. It's one of our favorite resorts though we have yet to do CL - notice how I said "yet";) I think once my family gets a taste of the CL life at GF, that's all I'll hear about. Up until now, DD13 doesn't think it's a Disney trip unless we stay at GF!

I just went ahead and DID it!

BOOKED the GF RPC concierge deluxe for December 11th-16th!!!

MY MIL's birthday will be on the 15th, so this will be a nice present for her.

Tammi...looks like we'll be there at the same time~only you're doing the YC CL !
Sending lots of PD ~*~*~*~ for that Illuminations cruise!:wizard:

Talk to you later, Kerry!!!!

BT you are the absolute BEST! One day (soon!) I want to be just like YOU! I want to plan GF RPC trips while also planning several other CL tripsprincess: :teeth:
You're a riot! And, as always, an inspiration princess:
Too bad I don't arrive until the day after you leave :( I'd come over to the GF and try and get your autograph:crazy:

Everyone, have a wonderful and SAFE Labor Day!

It does sound like everyone connected through this thread weathered the hurricane OK. So here are my prayers of thanks. Still praying for everyone else in the path of this storm.

BambiTamby - Oh no, a water main break! :earseek:
Glad to hear nothing got damaged, but what a scare. :faint:
Hope this was not a disruption to your business. And by the way how did the show go? Boy what a crazy busy week you have had.

KerryCM - So good to "see" you around. Here's wishing that your upcoming trip is magical and filled with lots of PD. princess: :genie:

sfbank - Not sure what you mean by "things not to miss the 1st week of December". Are you referring to things around the BWI or around the parks? Here is a link to a thread on the Theme Parks and Attractions forum that talks about Christmas things at the various parks.
MVMCP & Other Christmas Stuff

TammiMcMan - The pre-planning staff for the YC/BC & BWI are really great. If anyone can do it, they can. I wonder if Disney would limit the number of boats the Mousefest can reserve at one time? Here's sending some PD and hope your way. :wave2:

Hmmmm, I wonder who else will be at the GF at the same time??? :rolleyes1 :scratchin ;)

BT Definitely mention to the cm's about your MIL's birthday. We were there last January for my 40th and I got a signed card from Minnie Mouse and an upgrade to a 5th floor honeymoon suite. They spoiled us something fierce. It was hard not going back, but I was ready to try a new resort. IPO at the YC has been outstanding and Amy has already responded to my e-mail with lots of smilies and little jokes. No more worrying for me, I know that I'm in terrific hands.

Minniesota Once you do CL, it's very hard to go back. DD8 still hasn't gotten out of cruise mode yet. We sailed on the Wonder back in May and now whenever we go out for dinner, she insists on ordering an appetizer before her meal. Your DD is going to love it. We're setting the bar very high for any future men in their lives :)

Tammi - LOL I know what you mean. We cruised the 7-day Eastern in Jan. and DD was introduced to the world of fabulous desserts. Now she thinks cheesecake should be a weekly event! Good thng she dances three nights a week - and I only let her buy it by the piece so there is no temptation for me. Yeah, it will have to be some Prince Charming!

OK, speaking of the GF...

Can you eat at the GF Cafe or anyplace else at GF, for lunch without a PS? We don't want to be "locked" in on our arrival day, so we were hoping we could "just walk-in".

Can you hear the Wishes music and narration anywhere on the GF property (Narcoosee's, the beach, etc.) or is it just "view only"?

I probably should post this to the GF thread, but with all the talk about December and the GF, I couldn't resist.

GoofyJoofy - We have walked in at the cafe for lunch several times - it's a great spot! I think the music for Wishes is piped in right in front of Gasparilla's. That's where we plan to catch it one night in Oct.

Oh man, now I want to go in December! But, alas, can't take the kids out again and DH is so busy that time of year. I need another Disneyaholic co-dependant in my life!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
ROTFL,minniesota !!!Yup! All this December talk will do it to you!

GoofyJoofy...Oh, reeeeeeeeeally!?!?!? who else?;)

Got called back tonight by the landlord to let more workers into my store for them to check on the other pipes.
ACK! Kerry...tomorrow, I promise!

Tammi...you are in excellent hands with the Epcot IPO CMs!
Super, super folks they have~! ::yes::

GoofyJoofy...we were at the GF one night, getting an ice cream fix and could hear the WISHES music by the marina area.
I'm sure it was in front of Gasparilla's.
PM me when you can.:wave2:
