I'm wanting to stay concierge at WL next summer. We stayed at CSR lastyear and loved it. But I am looking forward to trying concierge. What is concierge like at WL?

Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm sure that someone will be able to help me. I hope to make it official soon with my ressies and before I know it my trip. There will be a lot of water under the bridge before then including another year of school and my babies are a year older:(

Glad you had a good trip.

I think many/most of us have paid for concierge using an AP rate, so there are discounts! I believe Kimberle is doing the 14th floor contemporary using the 5+2 disney plan out right now. One warning... once you go concierge, it is a sickness that won't stop! (and a good one at that!)

towel nazi/pool patrol/etc. I LOVE IT! I have not had the best of days (one of my angels was hurt badly today at school. She'll be ok, but it was a 911 call and the whole works) anyways.. back to the subject... it made me smile! THANK YOU! I also love the "disney" CC reading! Thank you to everyone who shared or contributed to those stories!

My kids both went to Disney young, and I come from the position that they might not remember it, but YOU remember it. Seeing the joy in their eyes is one of my most precious memories! As it is, they do have early memories of Disney, I just have MORE! :) My first trip ever was my DD's first trip at 3. I wouldn't give that day up for the world!

Woody>> Continued P and PD for you! I am still so happy that things are looking up! All I can say about being sick and heartburn is that I've been there, and had two very healthy babies! I was a regular chewer of antacids, which to this day make me remember being pregnant with DS! Thanks for the french toast this morning... DELISH!

The amarula was great in my coffee tonight. Thanks!
Debbie

#1hockeymom SO sorry to hear that you had a rough day. VERY glad to hear that everything is going to be alright.

Oh no! #1hockeymom! Glad to hear everything's OK, but sorry you had to go through the emergency and all.

A great big WELCOME! ksy8384. All but one of our concierge stays has been with a discount, usually AP, but sometimes Disney Visa and a few postcard discounts. There are also AAA discounts available sometimes if you're a member. The discounts for your time frame won't be announced 'til a few months before, but you can always make ressies & hope to get the discount applied when they come out. BTW, #1hockeymom is right on the money - there's no turning back!!!

drtaylor hopefully Majestic (Fred) will "stop by" as he is the WL expert.

Putting out some "comfort food" for WoodyRU and some Bailey's & Frangelico for the late evening coffees. See you all in the AM!

I can totally relate to the heartburn thing. I had it so bad with my first pregnancy, it felt like my chest and throat were on fire. Raising the head of our bed up a little seemed to help tho.

Woody, I think that's a great suggestion about raising up the head of the bed a little bit on blocks or something like that. My grandmother has bad acid reflux, and her doctor suggested that she do the same thing, and I think it really helps her. Having never been pregnant, I don't know what all the rules about medications are, but you could ask your doctor about taking over-the-counter Zantac 75. I also have acid reflux, and that helps me out quite a bit.

I just loved the little stories tonight! :)

Debbie... So sorry to hear about your child. I'm glad to hear that it will all be okay. ::yes::

steveanddonna... Thanks for the comfort food....pretty much all I'm eating right now. To the rest of you, ENJOY the Baileys and Frangelico!!

WELCOME ksy8384!!! ead79 and luckywife!!! Thanks for the suggestions about raising my pillow. I will try that tonight! And (LOL!) The Dr. said I could take two Zantac a day (which I am) and I still have the worst symptoms!!!!!

I hope all continues to go well with this pregnancy. It was a GREAT sign that there was a strong heartbeat on Monday. However, I still don't like that there is still some bleeding. It makes me nervous. Does anyone who's been through a m/c have any thoughts on that? (You can PM me if you like). Thanks a bunch!!!!!!!

In regard to bringing very young children to WDW, Our son is almost three and he has been 4 times already. DD is 1 and 1/2 and she's been twice. My DH was also a sceptic about bringing them so young. He has since changed his thoughts on that. Not only do the little moments create lasting memories for the parents, but there is also another way I look at it... If it brings them joy and delight at that moment, who cares if they don't "remember" it? They may not remember that I did the chicken dance along with Elmo at one year old, but it didn't make me stop playing with them! :) Also, I have snapshots in my head of MY first visit to WDW and I was a mere 3 yrs. old!

I hope you all have a wonderful night. As ALWAYS, I enjoyed my visit to the lounge tonight!!! :wave2: Lizards....Thanks for all being SO wonderful!

Steveanddonna and luckywife....what great stories!!:rotfl:

Good morning all!

Woody...sent you a pm

I set out some coffee (with a little chichory in it) for all...and some juice and goodies...enjoy!

Thanks for the goodies cajunfan, just what I need this morning!

Woody- I also sent you a PM.

Thanks for the coffee w/chicory, cajunfan. I'll put out the beignets (plus plenty of napkins & wetwipes for all that powdered sugar!)

WoodysRU keep thinking positive thoughts. Prayers & PD continuing your way, along with some ginger tea. Just keep chanting, "I'm going to Disney World...."

I, too, feel that the kids don't have to "remember" everything, or even to be able to experience or appreciate the attractions, characters, parades, whatever. Every experience we share with our children enriches them, and what better way than in an environment where we're all happy, relaxed, and at our best?

Welcome, ksy8384 & drtaylor!!!

You guys will like this thread, promise! There are those with a wealth of information. Plus, we just "bond." I think it's part of the "bug."

ksy8384 - Why you most certainly have a good chance of getting some sort of discount. I'm a first timer to WDW so I did a package, but I got a discount on it. I'm now thinking APs are the way to go ;). Like SteveandDonna & Debbie said - there are discounts out there, you just got stay tuned and jump on it. "Seize the moment!"

drtaylor - I haven't been to WL, but have heard good things and not so good things. We are staying there for the 2nd half of our trip so I'll let you know how it goes.

Debbie - I'm so sorry about your DD! I'm know what that kind of scare is like with the 911 thing & all. Wasn't too long ago for that with DS so the memory is still fresh. He's parading around his "war wound" quite nicely though. It must be a boy thing - LOL!

Woody - Still hope things are going well for you. Keeping you in my prayers.

I've loved reading all your stories about the kids. The credit card reading gave me quite a chuckle!

Make yourselves at home. I put out the goldfish, peanut butter & jelly sandwiches & sodas for you. I thought they needed a hand in the kitchen/lounge. :wave2:

I know i'm not Majestic but hope that I can shed some light on the WL CL.

The WL CL info desk is located just outside the evelvators on that floor. I find this very convienent, as you really pass this area to go most anywhere. The staff is always friendly and very helpful, they referred to everyone in our family by our first names throughout our whole trip.

I understand that the food offerings are not as elaborate as others on property, but we have never had a problem with having something that the whole family could enjoy. The staff is really good at filling personal requests also...Soda, beer, juice boxes ect... have been located and put in our mini fridge @ no extra charge!!!

The food offerings are put out in the balcony area of the floor where it overlooks the lobby, The "lounge" tables are scattered around this area also. We actually get our food and bring it back to our room, They have trays availible just for this purpose.

I have used the CL IPO to book all of our PS's, and special requests and they have always filled them with little added extras that just makes our stay so special!

With this being said, I have never stayed at the Poly CL, and I hear nothing but rave reviews about it! So maybe we'll try them next.

The WL CL is an informal space with a casual atmosphere and I really think that everyone that visits it should know this going in.
It was my families first experience with CL @ WDW, so I may also be very biased!!

Does anyone have any suggestions as to gift certificates for the staff or planner? I was thinking of a restaurant certificate of some kind but of course not everyplace has the same restaurants. Is Outback Restaurant convenient in Orlando? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I've done the chocolates as gifts before but I thought I'd like to do something different this time. Thanks!

Thanks for the great WL concierge info. DH is kind of picky about food (a real meat and potatoes, southern cooking not too adventurous kind of guy). Would you put the food into this category? We *really* liked the WL when we were there and I really want to stay there next time. It sounds like the concierge there would fit the bill. Now to choose between concierge and the silver pkg. Hmmmmmmmmmm:confused:

YCFAN- we did Olive Garden gift certificates this past trip. I'm sure there's an Outback around the area, sounds like a great idea to me. ::yes::

Hey Lizards,

Will the Poly CL print us out a copy of our itinerary as part of the welcome packet or will we have to ask for it?

Thanks!

Tammy we had to ask for our printed itinerary but it wasn't a problem.

YCFAN- You're very welcome. :D

YCfan In March we gave our planner Disney Dollars. She and her husband love to eat in Epcot, so I figured that would work. She was very pleased.

Hey Lizards,

Have any of you done Discovery Cove? I feel like it's something I gotta do. It looks so beautiful but the price is outrageous. Looks like I am gonna be eating pb&j's all summer:earseek: :earseek: :earseek:
