hi all, just a couple of questions for anyone who has stayed in a CR 14th fl consierge room (as opposed to a suite) with a mk view. how is the view of the mk? do you think there is a better view from the suites? also, since all the rooms and suites on the 14th fl are smoking-optional, have any non-smokers who have stayed in a mk view room been bothered by smoke odors in their own room or from rooms next door? and does anyone know if the lounge on the 14th fl is non-smoking? thanks in advance.

Welcome home VAgal ! I am so glad you had such a great time. One trip I would love to go and meet some of my fellow lizards.
It is a beautiful day here in good old Massachusetts. I am sitting by my pool pretending I am at the quiet pool and Jim has just brought me some snacks from the lounge!:sunny: What a good husband!!!!!
Can't wait to hear about everyones trips. I especially like to hear about the meals.

VAgal - Welcome back! Oh that 6:00 AM gym is going to be tough after ur time in WDW :earseek: :rotfl:

Sorry you had some disappointments during ur stay. :( Hope it didn't spoil the Magic too much. :wizard:

lindeyspol - Nice pics thanks for shaing. We will be at BC in late August. Seeing the pics of the Boardwalk and area really got us excited about going. :bounce: :Pinkbounc

BT - Wow, Its been taking me some time to see all of your pics. love the suites and views.

KerryCM - It IS a beautiful day here in Massachusetts. I was at the park watching my DS's :earsboy: baseball team win the championship!:jumping1: We'll be celebrating with special dinner and a cake.
I got an awesome picture of him hitting his double.

Now I need to sign up for Webshots so I can share it. :earseek:

Yes, you do have a good husband! You like meals, huh? We do too! OMG, the meals were terrific down there! Our favorite by far was RFC. We shared some chicken quesadillas that were out of this world! DH had the parmesean crusted snapper with veggies. I had the trio of steak, coconut shrimp and ribs. All of them were music to my taste buds. Of course we had to sample each other's plates. I'm sure I'm not the only one with the pass around the plate so we can all be happy type family - LOL!

Jiko's stuffed our bellies with a sample of their menu from appetizer to dessert. I must say their beef filet cooked over Michigan wood was the my favorite for the entree. It's gotta be the wood! Funny enough, the cinnamon beef was my favorite appetizer. My goodness, all the desserts were tasty. I believe BT took pictures of that as well...at least I faintly remember a flash going off during our meal ;).

GoofyJoofy - I really like the resort, but I think they need some help. We had a wonderful time despite the disappointment. We decided to take a stroll along their jogging/bike path our last evening there since we like to venture out. We even saw a few Bambi's on our stroll. We came within 20 feet of them while they just stood there checking us out and munching on vegetation. Of course we didn't have our camera. We had just finished eating at AP and picked up DS from the Cub's Den to go on our little journey so we didn't think about grabbing our camera before leaving. We'll know better next time! Be prepared, always, always, always be prepared! We ended up at Ft. Wilderness. We did enjoy the boat ride back to the lodge from Ft. Wilderness. We even got caught in a FL thunderstorm on the boat, which was some exciting stuff! I was a little freaked until they told us it had lightning protection, but we were on our own as soon as we hit the dock. Needless to say, DS and I (in a pair a flip flop type sandles) jogged back to the lodge. It had us chuckling for a while. Macho DH just strolled back to the lodge. Keep in mind, he told me like 400 times how most people that are struck by lightning get struck in FL. I think he just said to get me going....it worked - LOL!

I'm tempted to call my trainer and skip tomorrow morning's work out. I usually do it on Tuesday, but my partner left me a message letting me know about the switch....I think she was a little jealous where I was and knew I wasn't a Mon. morning kind of girl. Payback so to speak! I forgive her. I knew she chuckled after hanging up the phone when she left that message.

DS is about to leave with Grandma. He's done with having all sorts of fun with us at WDW so home isn't "fun" right now. Moving onto the next best thing, the best Grandma in the world!

I just took my MIL (best Grandma in the world) off guard by inviting her to go with us next year. I didn't tell her about the sweet aroma of the AKL...I like to keep some secrets so she can discover for it herself ;). She's such a sweet lady. I can't wait to show her the world! She was in awe with the pictures of GF and the tape of AKL. I believe I may have another lizard in the making. :p

Nighty, night, lizards! All the cordials, zebra domes, chocolate frosted brownies and cookies have been left out for you to enjoy.

:wave2: I'm back from my trade show! It went well, and the Beau Rivage is a lovely resort. ::yes::

BT, I am glad you made it back safe and sound--I am just about to go look at your pictures. :)

Alice, I cannot express how sorry I am for the tragedy that your DS and entire family are going through. My prayers are with you all. May the Lord comfort you and hold you all in His arms.

Michigan wood, so that is why that filet from Jiko was so delicious! :) I don't know how I missed that part of the description! We had gotten the sampler appetizer platter for three and we were so intrigued and literally stuffed after that I am not sure why we ordered dinner, but I am glad we did!

I have my baby back! Told him my thoughts about the Poly, and the first thing out of his mouth was, "Chuckie (yep, that is his name! LOL) wants to see AKL, the only one that doesn't is Natalie so why don't we just not tell her and she can see why its the best!" My next thoughts were on concierge, and the price, and if savannah view would be good enough. You should have seen the look of disbelief on his face! What have I created? :hyper: I haven't changed any plans yet, but lets just say, it could happen! (He also mentioned something about me loving the pool bar :))
VAgal>> Even if you described the wonderous AKL smells I think your MIL would still be totally at a loss for words when she walked into that entry and smelled them in person!

Welcome back Elizabeth! Glad you're enjoying your new job so much!

GoofyJoofy>> BIG CONGRATS to your son! What a wonderful and huge accomplishment! I can't wait to see the pictures! Tell him congratulations from the lizard lounge!

KerryCM>> I swear I wrote a post to you, but I dont see it! Either I put it on the wrong board, or I clicked off it before it went through! I am glad you're resting nicely and dreaming of Disney!

P and PD to those that still need it. I am still forwarding emails to Alice. I will give you my email in a PM if you need it.

Debbie

WELCOME TO THE LIZARD LOUNGE, francie!

there is only one MK concierge view room, that was what I've been told. The other two are lake view, but the 14th floor has a huge lookout for the MK views and Wishes.
I've stayed in alot of smoking optional rooms and suites, recently, I never smelled any smoke.
They must use some great Febreez type stuff when they clean those rooms/suites.

And ALL concierge lounges are non-smoking.
But you can smoke out on the balconies, if you wish.

Hope this helps.
Kimberle and I haven't experienced the 14th yet.

Aw, man.....AGAIN??????

Give me a minute to get it cleaned, ok?;)

ead79 Glad you like the Beau Rivage. It was being built when I was in Biloxi for my daughter's tech school graduation at Keesler Air Force Base.

GoofyJoofy congrats to you son and his team!:Pinkbounc I remeber those days when my son and daughters played. Jim and I often go down to the fields to watch the kids play. They all look so little now! We even get teased that we are there watching our grandchildren, but not for another 4 years!!!

BT I spoke with Jackie tonight. She called to see how I was doing. Now this is why I love staying at the BW. She is just so awesome, thoughtful and all around nice person.

Kerry...Yes, she is! I'm trying to arrange my calendar with this next trip to stay there and experience their concierge more!
They were so warm and hospitable! I can NOT wait to return there! Only other place that makes me feel that way...
you know, all the warm fuzzies... is the AKL CL.::yes::

Cleaned out the box!
Ready for incoming!:duck:

INCOMING! Actually, Dh's cell phone does that ring when you leave a message! It fits him perfectly!

I found my baby! You took such nice pictures of him! HE'S SO BIG! I really can't believe how much he's grown just since Easter! Thank you thank you for the extra nice and well cropped pictures of my baby! I totally cracked up when I saw the first one with the caption under it!

Going to try a link to AKL pix on ofoto.com so I don't have to switch to webshots. Hope these work

BT--still looking through your pix. Got the same cake, different anniversary--wasn't it delicious? We also received some lovely african dolls along with wooden yo yo's for the boys, safari matchbox type cars, and personalized autographed pix of each of the boys favorite characters. Gotta love getting spoiled at AKL. Gotta go back and really look at the 2br suite. My only concern is the walk to the lounge and the view (we were a few doors down from the Royal Kuba this time--5417)

Night all, hope this works

Welcome back BT and VAGAL - I can't wait to see all your pictures.

Thanks everyone for your prayers and PD - I have spoken to my docs and my knee surgery is scheduled for July 23. Oh gee, I can "hardly" wait:eek:

Now I have a question, I received a post card with a discount number on it for Value and Other WDW Resorts. I, of course, can't use it because of my surgery. Is there anyway I can give the number to someone else who can utilize the discount. I'd like to repay the kindness everyone has shown me here if I can and just give it to someone. Any ideas?

lindeyspol

Thanks for the pictures... they make me want to go back to both the Poly and AKL. It's probably a good thing WDW isn't just around the corner from NJ! I'd be there all the time!
