BT - missed you! Welcome back! Thought about you several times and am so glad to hear your trip was magical. Bummed for you about the Grand 1 - I was so anxious to hear all about it but they sure made up for it with your dessert party. Okay, girl - let's get that trip report and pictures posted!!!!

still working on getting those pics downloaded and all the rest of my business "caught up".
DH and DS are unpacked and laundry done....

me? Suitcase is still semi-packed......but, then again, I always keep it somewhat packed...but I still have more to do.

Thanks for all the welcome back's!
And I noticed that we have a new lizard here....I'll welcome you with all the "whistles and bells" tomorrow.;)

Tess...that might have been mom and dad BEFORE we moved over to the Tonga building. Mom used that ECV very little on this trip.....2 whole days to be exact.
She was determined NOT to use it.

some quick notes.....the tonga building CL was wonderful.
I can NOT wait to give Tikiman the details of staying there.
All three fridges were stocked with waters and sodas TWICE DAILY and the lounge itself caters to 6 suites.
The food offerings for breakfast were the same as Hawaii, only larger portions and upgraded condiments.
During the day, great snacks....like the HUGE Mickey Rice Krispy bars were out.
only during the evening, did we go to the Hawaii building, but since we had the last two nights booked with dinners and a dessert party to end all....we didn't use the Hawaii CL while at the Tonga.
It was so peaceful and quiet and the sountrack from Wishes plays during the fireworks outside your balcony at night.
WOW!

I also forgot to mention MARNY at the BWI CL....she was so sweet and wonderful to us also!
She even provided me with floorplans for all the suites and concierge rooms.
I really am looking forward to returning to the BWI CL...
we were immediately a part of their family....lots of talking and hugging going on with everyone that left that lounge!
WOW! What a place!

Speaking of hugs..... :grouphug: to everyone here!
continued prayers for OUR FAMILY here !

floridafam...has anyone heard from her? She was supposed to have tests done while I was gone.:worried:

:thewave: as I leave to go to the store!

BambiTamby,

I'm here.

It sounds like you had a wonderful trip. I can't wait to see the pictures.

I had my surgery last Monday and have just been laying low. Everything went very well and I am just a little tired.

We've been working on our house the past few weeks and we've had to turn the power off a few times so my DISing hasn't been real constant.

The dessert party you ended up having sounds beautiful.

I'd like to throw a dessert party on one of our trips to WDW-especially if a few of us lounge lizards are going to be there at the same time.

Take care everyone.

I'm glad that I hung around the lounge before heading out, floridafam!

Lots of  to you and i'm glad you're back home and on the mend.
PM me anytime if you like....:wave2:

Yes, the dessert party was a hit! VAgal should be returning home today and she'll have some feedback also.

But, what a neat idea! A LOUNGE LIZARD Dessert Party!
We've got to plan something like that for next year!

Meanwhile.....just relax and pamper yourself.
I've been where you are....again, to you.

BambiTamby!!!! We sure did miss you girl!!!!! Your trip sounds heavenly. Can't wait for more details!!!! ::yes::

floridafam.... Glad the surgery went well. Take it easy!!!

A big room wave to everyone else!!!! Now, I've got to go back and catch up on a few pages!!!!!

Does anyone know if all the Yatch Club Conci. Rooms have a 2 Queens AND a Daybed? Thanks!

hi and welcome to the lizard lounge!

No, not all the concierge rooms have 2 queens and daybed.
If you are a party of 5, you will get one.
Other than that, it's a request.

Hello WoodysRU!!!!:wave2:

I got almost 500 pics to download!!!!!

You all know where I'll be this weekend!:earseek:

BT I cannot wait to see all of your pictures. I wish I could help you. I am getting very bored from doing nothing!:bored: I am having my downstairs remodeld beginning the 6th of July, so I have been looking at paint samples for days now.

floridafam I hope you are feeling Ok after your surgery. How long will your recuperation be?

woody How have you been feeling? PandPD for you!

Well, I guess I'd better go turn in for the night. Thank you to all for making my bedrest pass more pleasantly!! You are all the best!:grouphug:

I've got my new poly CL pics loaded up and ready for viewing!

OK....now to the AKL and BWI....hehhe!

I've gotta leave the best for last!;)
Besides my dad has to send me his link because I mostly taped the dessert party!

Have a nice Saturday night!

there's some cordials and cheesecake out for you late nighters!
Someone remember to turn the coffee maker and lights off !:p

BT: Great pics... can't wait to see the rest. Especially of the dessert party!!! :sunny:

Well, I am sort of back to normal after having my wisdom teeth pulled. Of course, nothing comes easy when it has to do with me... the roots of the tooth were fused to the bone... it took over 1 1/2 hours to pull one! :( . Needless to say, I have been in a bit of pain and my face is swollen... I guess I won't be entering any beauty contests for a while! ;)

Anyway, thanks for all the good wishes... all in all, everything went well. DH is pampering me... so at least some good has come of it!

Have a magical day everyone!

The pictures are beautiful, BT. I can't wait to see the rest, especially the dessert party. I am thinking of doing one at Epcot. Carri's (myDIL) parents have never been and they will be with us in Oct.. Carri asked me to plan something really great so they can see one of the reasons we go back every year!:bounce: We are doing the tea, and I have ordered a chocolate slipper for Faye. it will be her birthday the day we go.
I will wait for Jackie to get back from her cruise to pick her knowledgeable brain for some other great ideas. I know they are going to have things in the room for them.
If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

annamonte How are you doing. When my oldest daughter had her's out I remember my youngest telling her she looked like Dale, and if she painted her nose black she could look like Chip!!!!:hyper:
I am enjoying my chocolate croissant and tea right now as I lay in bed!!!!!!!

BT....The pictures are GREAT! And the Princess Suite looks absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!::yes:: Really looking forward to the rest of you vacation photos.

Annamonte...Hope you're feeling better. Sorry to hear about the problem they had pulling that one tooth. Ouch! At least now you won't have to worry about those bugging wisdom teeth anymore.

KerryCM and floridafam....wishing you both a speedy recovery.

Excellent!!!

BT-do you have a way of sharing the BWI Concierge Floor plans?

I can't find any online anywhere!

Good morning everyone!

Sorry it's been so long but crazy getting ready for a r&r vacation to my Dad's in Reno.

P&pd to those of you who need it. Sounds like you are all on the road to recovery. I hope you feel better quickly.

BT so glad to have you back. Loved the poly pix. As Tess said, we had 3509 and did have a tree to the right but the best view we've had yet. You're stay sounds incredible. Can't wait for all the details and photos.

I spent hours uploading to ofoto.com when we got back but it seems I have to invite individuals to my albums. Once I saw yours on webshots, I decided to try it. I just did BWI pix and want to see if the links work. Oh, if anyone can help me get them rotated that would be great--so we don't have a bunch of sore necks out there. I wish the pictures didn't seem darker online. my prints came out great.

I think I expressed our troubles at checkin. You would've thought I was the first person to try to upgrade my view keeping ap rate at checkin. We spent 2 hours with front desk and 7 hours later, with help of manager (and I'm sure the fact that my boys were getting very antsy in lobby) we finally got into our room. My only issues were this and the nasty mold and caulking in the bathroom. After exploring, I know I should've kept the garden view. Much prettier and quiet. I didn't find bw view to be worth the price--now, lagoon view at poly, that's worth it's weight in gold! Oh, we got fruit basket with "welcome to the boardwalk" so I can only assume that was for our check in troubles.

The other thing I forgot to post was that while in the lobby (which took plenty of time that first day) we were approached to do a survey. It would require us to keep tabs of all our spending while on site--eating, merchandise, everything. Every day of our stay, we could drop this into a box and receive a disney character shaped pen (I believe these are about $4 each). At the end, we would fill out a final survey and we could have a gift valued at $25 sent to us. Well, of course, we're always willing to help. The boys love the pens but we haven't received other gift so we'll keep you posted.

Yesterday, we received a postcard to do a survey about our stay at the BWI. It was about 40 questions about our stay. It will be interesting to see if anything comes of it.

I have already sent a letter to guest communications singing the praises of the poly concierge, akl concierge, and especially our new favorite cm from the family magic tour, Shannon. Tess, I wish I were as eloquent as you, but I knew I would get busy with the next vacation so I really just wanted to make sure I got it done.

Well, hopefully this link will work. If it does, I will continue to upload my pix(again!)

While we are waiting for BT to give us a full report, I will let you all know that there are fantastic chocolate croissants at the Swan/Dolphin CL lounges! They are fantastic, and are great for a midnight treat if you can save one for that long!

Have a great day, LLs!
Debbie
Mmmmm....I can smell them from here, where are they?!? The very first time we ever savored the chocolate croissants of WDW, was completely by accident. We stopped by the "FountainView" for a mocha blended frosty treat! There, on a baker's rack behind the counter were these monstrous croissants, with a sliver of something dark peeking out from under an edge of golden pastry. Intrigued, I inquired, and was informed they were "chocolate" (and had a LARGE SLICE of the semi-sweet variety baked inside the delicate layers. I bought one...and the rest, is history!
We immediately LOVED the delectible confection, searching high/low for park/resort availability. The beautiful balance between the croissant and chocolate is amazing. One morning, while visiting the CL lounge @ the WDW Dolphin...we DISCOVERED them piled carefully upon the silver tray! One bite, and we were in heaven. Mmmm....unbelieveably good. Add some espresso...and I'm in "euphoria" (sounds like a city in Illinois!..LOL).

floridafam~Glad to hear from you, and see you are resting & recouperating. :goodvibes You are in my thoughts and prayers.

amonte~I had mine pulled @ 17, and DD just had hers done this past spring @ 16. We also had a full extraction (all four at once). Mine were easy, (fully erupted), but DD had one impacted. It took about 30 minutes to remove the one tooth. She had no swelling, and this was attributed to something the Anesthesiologist put in the "sleep" cocktail. She also drank lots of pineapple juice prior to the extraction, which is proven to reduce swelling. I hope you are feeling better soon, and the swelling and pain is ALL GONE!! Thank goodness...you have your DH to "pamper" during recovery. ;) Take care!

BT~Have fun posting all the pics!! Thanks for sharing, so happy you had a MAGICAL time.

Happy & Glorious SUNDAY to all!

TTFN...DF99 :wave2:

dreamflight...I just LOVE your stories!!!!!:goodvibes
methinks that you are a famous writer in "real life"!;)

annamonte.. for you! I didn't have mine pulled until my mid-thirties, and developed a dry socket in one!:(
I know your pain! Just do what the dentist told you to do!
And keep taking those meds.....::yes::
And DH's pampering will make it all go away!

lindeyspol...great pics! you need to go back to your webshots desktop to "edit" your sideways photos!
Simply click on the 90º button to swing them up!:wave2:

I awoke this morning thinking of the BWI Concierge !
think I'll just grab a chocolate croissant and a cup of coffee and do some more WDW planning!:earsgirl:

Hi, guys! Our entire family has already decided we are going back with MIL and SIL in tow next year. On day 2 my DH was saying CL was the way to go. What can I say? We had an absolute blast. So many cool things happened, but I'll just try to catch the major stuff.

WL is a really nice resort, but the CL was disappointing. They just didn't keep the offerings stocked....DH was addicted to their sugar cookies! Not even water was kept out? The rooms were quite a bit smaller than AKL's rooms, but we were comfortable. We did LOVE the theme, the restaurants, transportation and location, but we just didn't like the "lounge." I know this is Fred's home away from home and we were all looking forward to staying....I just don't know what is going on. We experienced the lounge hogs there, too. Now the resort can't help that, but I believe it's a direct result of them running out of food and drinks. I guess the guests figured they need to get it quick before it's gone. It irritated DH when he would go for a drink and snack and there were just empty bottles and baskets. We just don't like to "hound" anyone for such a thing like a drink. There were several times we just went downstairs for a snack/drink when there wasn't anything in the lounge. It wasn't enough of an irritation for us to move back to AKL. Like I said we loved the theme of the resort, transportation, restaurants and location. I just assume go get my own a few times rather than get huffy with a CM over a Coke and cookie! I didn't take it up with management and shouldn't posting so much negativity without me discussing the problem with them first. It's nice resort and I would love to go back but they need raise the bar on service.

Someone did nab the Yosemite Suite before I got there...I should've grabbed while I still could. You snooze, you lose.

AKL, our absolute favorite! Juanita was a doll and she took extremely good care of us while we were there. I met Sue and Don as well. I can't wait to plan our return trip to our new "home" with them. DH wants WL to send those sugar cookies to AKL so his next visit will be complete - LOL! We had an awesome view....I think BT may have had something to do with that, too ;). We were next to the suite on the 5th floor. We will be requesting this room again our next go around. No lounge hogs were encountered here at all. The people were more chatty here, too, including CMs. OOOOHHHHHH, the SMELL.....when we stepped out of the limo we smelled the aroma immediately. We had eaten before we arriving, but the aroma made us hungry all over again.

Wanyama Safari - What a treat! I have a couple really good photos of this and will be doing the picture thing a little later. We can't wait to do Sunrise Safari next time we go. Our guide was great and we enjoyed his company. This takes place right at the lodge while sunrise is done at AK. Debbie, I got a pretty good picture of your Ankole family. I knew you would want to know how baby is doing. Dinner at Jiko's was delicious. Debbie, I alo hear you on trying to get the drinks served at AKL there right at home. The wines they served at Jiko's were superb. I'll be bringing home a bottle or two the next go around.

We were disappointed about Grand1 (DH and DS had no clue it was even booked), but I was fair game for any kind of alternative they would offer. We did have a dessert party with front row seats for the parade and Wishes. What really gave us the jaw dropping effect was that we hadn't even laid eyes on Magic Kingdom until that night. My entire family was awestruck. The entire middle area of the train station was roped off with white linen tables set up. We were right in front of the castle with onlookers trying to figure out what was going on. No exaggeration, we had 4 servers and Mark would make the 5th for the 9 of us. The desserts were delicious and I wish I hadn't eaten dinner just to be able to eat them all - LOL! My heart fluttered when I saw Tinkerbell. I had heard you would see her, but it was so cool to see her in person! Mark had presented all the fathers with a nice certificate at the close of the evening. DH said this is actually the high point of the entire trip.

We had fun with BT and her family. I didn't get a chance to see the 2 bedroom suite at AKL before leaving since it took us so long to get back from DS's surf lessons. I can't wait to see the pics of that, too. I did get a personal tour of the princess suite which was very lovely.

I believe we've made up our mind already. We'll be doing a AKL/GF split next time. I hate to be a post hog so I better go. Hopefully I'll get the trip photos together and get them posted.

Welcome to all of our new lizards. I believe we are certifiable lizards now!

Prayers and PD going out to Annamonte, Alice and KerryCM. I know there is a great need for you guys! Alice, take comfort there is an all powerful God that can heal the most wounded of hearts.

WELCOME BACK HOME to the LOUNGE, VAGAL !!!:wave2:

hehehe! I knew the moment I laid my eyes on your dear family that ya'll were hooked on concierge!;) :p

The dessert party was fabulous and I am still waiting for dad to email me his pics...remember, we had our camera recording the parade and wishes.

Sorry to hear about WL CL...wished ya would have called me!
After we took mom and dad to the airport, we had one EMPTY bedroom in our suite!:earseek:
Next time, we'll plan better...OK?::yes::

And, get that GRAND ONE BOOKED AGAIN!:teeth:

It was wonderful meeting you and your nice family.....goodlooking~all three of ya'll!:sunny:

I just got the AKL suite pics loaded and here's a link to the 2 bedroom suite and AKL CL.

Now...onto the Wanyama Safari pics.....

First, P and PD to those that need it, I've been alone in the house all weekend and please know that everyone is in my heart and prayers. I wish the best for everyone.

I am loving all of these stories! So great to have everyone back, bubbling over with their events of the past week! I do have to say that before I read these, I was already having second thoughts about the Poly GVC. Will it live up to AKL? Reading VAgal's post about AKL just bought the memories streaming back! I also keep on bringing up GF pictures as dd and ds really want to stay there. I do know that if we go with that route, CL is out. AKL it should be, but I'd go CL anyways as I love it so up there! Glad to hear my baby is doing well! I will be stopping by to see him, regardless of where we are staying, in three weeks!

*going to look at the new pictures!* Thank you everyone for posting their pics! I am picture impaired it seems!

Have a wonderful Sunday!
Debbie

BT - I actually like the AKL suite better than Poly's!

I know I should've talked to someone before leaving, but we were just so focused on having a good time we just simply didn't want to take the time to express our disappointment with the lack of offerings. We just tried to work around it. Especially, after knowing how much time you spent with them on the Poly/Grand1 glitches. I know I'll get in touch with them this week. I'm sure they want their guest to be happy and content with their stay. Read my post....WL has great potential. I believe it must be under the weather with a virus at the moment. I'll probably keep track and see what happens. I'd love to return to this resort if they tweek their service. I really liked the CM that checked us in. I believe her name was Michelle. She made us feel at home right off the bat. I did see her working the lounge while she was there. Regretfully, I didn't see her at all after our first day there.

There quite a few new hires where ever we went - Dining, parks and resorts. We'd bump into at least 2 or 3 that said they had just started working there. I kept this in mind when we hit a few small snags along the way.

I have some ideas on what we will do next time we go. I thought about an Illuminations cruise since Grand1 fell through. How many does the Breathless hold? I don't know if it'll fit all 5 of us? We will almost definitely being taking MIL and SIL on the next trip. We intentionally did not go see Illuminations to give us something to share with them. I love the element of surprise!

Debbie - Maybe the Poly will get the glitches worked out before you go. BT would have more insight on this issue since she may paved the way for you.

Alright, alright! I have to go grocery shopping and do something call cooking tonight. I didn't even have to drive while I was at Disney. I'm so spoiled! It's going to take a while to get back into my routine. This day seems to be flying by since I have to return to the gym at 6:00 am tomorrow (have to work off those desserts) followed by a full day at work. I don't know how I'm going to do it!
