Great pics BT...hopefully, I can join in on the next meet! ;) Seems like you guys had a blast! ::yes::

Have a GREAT day LLs!!! :grouphug:

I got next year's schedule at work...

I'm off May 18-23rd without taking vacation time...those are my regular days off. I will probably be trying to add on the day shifts after that, which would have me off from the 18th of May to the 30th....

Does that fit? If I can find room in the budget, talk my mother into making our girls trip with my daughters to Disney, and then sneak out, can I make the meet??

Lots of ifs! I'd really like to bring Mom to Disney, she's never been, but she's kind of nervous about it; she has MS and tires easily (though she's not in a chair). She also has a hearing disorder, it's not really hearing loss, it's a neurological thing post-surgical problem, that makes her confused when there's a lot of noise coming from a lot of different directions, it all jumbles into chaos so she can't decipher it well....so she's not sure she can handle it at Disney.

I'd like to take her at a quieter time, but there's no way I'd have any money before May, and if we wait till afterwards, we're putting the trip off to September, and she usually goes to the East Coast in September to visit my uncle and his family...

Disney in May...mid-May, evidently. How crowded, how scary? And given that it'll be more of a budget trip, someone's going to have to smuggle me into the lounge for a meet or say hi at a park...I'm thinking Coronado Springs or POR would be the place to bring Mom for peace. I'd like to try Coronado Springs...

Thoughts? Forgive my CL betrayal, here, but if the black sheep are wandering freely through the board anyway, I may as well admit I'll need to join the parade for the next trip!

Kris

P.S. Quick question: is the oatmeal at the lounge in the morning packaged? I just had a horrified thought that Meredith's main breakfast might not be dairy-free, even though they're going to have rice milk for her!!

Good morning all! It is a good thing that the office is pretty empty right now...I have been laughing out loud here this morning.

BT...LOVE the black sheep!!:hyper:

Samandbilly....too funny about missing people...most people just do get it!

Debbie....aren't you going for a short trip? You can fit everything in a backpack...that way you are ready to switch over to AKL at a moments notice...of course more power to you if you can pack lightly for ANY trip to WDW!

Salida...a few pages back, you expressed some concerns about the Poly. We were there in August of this year. We had no problems at all. We are very flexible people, so none of the housekeeping/turn down service issues mentioned on the other threads were a problem for us. IPO was OUTSTANDING! (Thanks Melissa and Tara!) As for the front desk CM's...we didn't have any major problems. There was one in particular that we avoided because of his less than stellar attitude, but it was never a real big issue. At that time, there were some new CMs at the front desk as they mentioned there was a shortage, but even those were nice/helpful (even if they were not at all knowledgeable). Also, keep in mind that the people that have posted the negative reports recently have traveled at times where all of WDW was having some issues...remember a lot of these people have been dealing with major storm problems. I say go to the Poly. Enjoy the absolute wonderful physical atmosphere of the hotel. It is soooooooo relaxing and peaceful. The food in the lounge is wonderful. Take time and enjoy! But, if it is truely bothering you, choose another hotel...you want to relax and enjoy your WDW experience, not be worried about the service you may be getting. I hope this helps a little..pm me if you have any specific questions.

storybookmum - the oatmeal in the lounge was prepared at the animal kingdom and you put your own toppings on like brown sugar, raisins, milk, etc. I'd call the resort and ask the lounge how it is prepared. I'm sure they will find that out or at least try accommodate your special needs diet. I've heard many stories that people's request are met without a hitch.

cajunfan....thanks for the Poly Cl report! I know it'll ease Shalida's mind!!!!:wave2:

Yep! The "black sheepie thingie" is contagious!
DH is now wanting to stay at the Swan for the marathon....non concierge!!!!:scared1: :earseek:

Still waiting for the Poly's CL manager to call me and tell me that he has OKed our transfer to either the BWI or AKL suites for the marathon instead!
PLEASE send pixie dust!!!!:worship:

Oh, storybookmum!!!You would be there for the meet!
We can make it happen!!!!::yes::

Sending positive thoughts and prayers for KerryCM today!

Hmmmmmm, Vagal...I LOVE that AKL oatmeal with all those yummy toppings!
I can close my eyes and smell the aromas of the AKL........hmmmmm!!!
Gosh! I LOVE that place! (and that expresso machine!)

And they will accomodate any dietary requests!

Lots of AKL oatmeal, toppings, bagels, muffins, spreads, cereals, danishes, juices, mango smoothies, milk, and the machine is ON and making the most wonderful lattes on property! :teeth:

KerryCM - Ohhh, I wish we were there at the same time, DD gets a couple days off Oct. 28-29, that's why we are going then! Seeing you would have been sooo great! I know you guys are gonna have a great trip, though, tell Jackie & gang "hey" for me!!

GoofyJoofy - You made me LOL!! And, I got my counter, see?!

VAgal - We all know you're too cute to forget, we've got the pictures to prove it! My boy is in college classes now, and making it as best he can. Thanks for asking.

BT - I won't take that bet, the odds aren't very good!! The thought of her heading for dinner with her bags is too funny! And, your sheep thingie is a hoot!

samnbilly - Your news report really made me laugh! I got a mental picture of Les Nessman!

...if the black sheep are wandering freely through the board anyway, I may as well admit I'll need to join the parade for the next trip.

storybookmum - This made me laugh, too! We'll have to type up a confession, send it through the Lounge for all closet sheep to sign!! LOL!

Thank you, BT, for the wonderful AKL oatmeal spread. Just what I needed this a.m. And, though we are planning a budget trip for this month, we still retain our LL taste for the finer things at WDW!!princess: princess:

Hi everyone:wave2: I just got home and am doing OK. I can't lift my left arm very high and am a little groggy still, but otherwise OK. Won't get the full pathology report until Tuesday, but there seems to be good news coming. radiation will be for only 6 weeks, but everyday going into Boston will not be fun!!

sftbank I usually send down some local New England things to the Innkeepers cast memebers. Last trip, in March I brought down Boston t-shirts. I usually send a box down and have sent many different things. Disney dollars are also great to give. I did this for our planner last year. They enjoy eating at different places in epcot or the resorts, so those came in handy. I just sent a box this morning to Alana with truffles, a Yankee Candle and my son included a pepsi jacket. Jimmy also sent a huge box down in June of Pepsi t-shirts visors and pens for all the cast. he is a manager for Pepsi and they always made sure he had Pepsi products in his room!!

Well, off to be. The pills are kicking in. Talk to you all tomorrow
Kerry

Thanks Lynn, on that same thread someone sent me the phone number and email address for IPO so I plan on giving them a jingle today. I have been thinking in the back of my mind that service possibly has slipped a bit because of all the hurricanes and CMs are probably having a hard time due to not only work pressure but personal pressure depending on how they faired during the hurricanes.

KerryCM- Glad to hear you are at home and doing "okay." Get some rest and we'll talk to you soon. :sunny:

BambiTamby... Not sure if you saw my post from late last night. Can you (or anyone else in the know ) GIVE ME THE LOW DOWN ON THE 50TH CELEBRATION?? Do you think it's a bad idea to travel that first week of May (crowd-wise) even though we'd be departing on the 5th (the day it al begins)?? Would we be better off risking the spring break crowd and going the last week of April? AND...by the way Bambi, are you feeling better? Hope so!!!

VAgal... I would LOVE to partake in a Lizard meet. Are you all going alone (without kids and spouses) in May? We're only going for a short trip in May (without the new baby) so that our tots can get a taste of WDW before our big family trip in Dec. 2005. We'll have the new baby with us then. She'll be almost a year old by then!! :D Anyone up for a Dec. 2005 meet? VAgal...thanks for the continued prayers for our new little one!

johnsonet... PM me if you'd be interested in sharing your DD's birth story at 26 weeks. I'd love to hear all about it.

KerryCM... So glad you're back home. Warmest wishes and many hugs to you!

Debbie... I am part of the growing consensus who thinks you'll end up sleeping at AKL again this time!!!! :teeth:

k&a&c'smom... HI AGAIN!!!! LOVE that counter!!!!!!!

Woodysroundup - I'm hoping to be able to go to the May meet. I probably won't know if I can definitely go until next year around March. I know it's a long wait. I may reserve a room and cancel if I absolutely must. I think if I go in May, DH will be definitely be tagging along. He can't let me go to the world all alone...mainly because he wants a mini-trip just ourselves. We'll have to see what the budget allows. I'm definitely going the end of June if anyone will be there and cares to have a mini-meet if it isn't the official summer LL meet.

KerryCM--Thanks for the info! I am glad you are home and hope you get to feeling better. I am home today with what I think is bronchitis (haven't been to the doctor--ooops!). I had a temp this morning and since my boss' wife also works in the office and is past her due date by three days, I decided she did not need to be sick in the delivery room! Again, have a great trip and post all the goodies!

We'll be there then (22-29) but I'm sure it will be a whirlwind trip for you and how could I ever explain a meet to my DH when I told him I don't post on those boards just generic questions.....He doesn't understand why anyone would ever use a counter to let the whole world know when you're going to be on vacation! How great that you & DD can enjoy some magic again!

I think a few non CL stays would make you more of a lizard....you know make you really appreciate it more. Of course I'm not ready to test my theory out with 3 small kids.

Kerry-glad to hear your home. Look at that counter. BTW DH still doesn't know I met someone off the net.:teeth:

I am hoping to meet Donna (where is she-just busy I hope). But I'm hoping we can "arrange" to just sort of "bump" into each other-if she's in the lounge my DS will be talking it up with her.

Well work has been crazy-budget time-so I've got to get back to it and get home and get back here at the crack of dawn. Only 3 more weeks and then it will be pretty much all set and I can relax at the happiest place on earth.

Shalida I'm another Poly fan here. I've got to admit that the Epcot/AKL resorts to do sound great but I really LOVE-LOVE-LOVE the Poly! IPO has always gotten me the PS's I wanted-even CRT/PSB on a short notice trip. And I enjoy the lounge offerings. Chef Dick is awesome. And I just LOVE the resort. Lots of folks don't like that it seperate buildings but I like that. I love the beach and tiki torches and music. It really feels like you're in another world and yet you can see the castle and space mountain. And the transportation options are great-monorail or boat to MK and walk to TTC for direct monorail to Epcot. I read lots of negatives review before my first trip and got nervous but stuck to it and LOVED it.

I think I better start packing!

KerryCM, praying for all the best in your results. Please take it easy!

Thanks for the oatmeal info, ladies, sounds yummy!

I'd sure like to make it there in May, we'll have to wait a while to see...

I tell you, that counter can't wind down soon enough for me; I need my vacation!! Today was supposed to be a day off for me, but I had a case up in court, and got stuck there all day -- for an acquittal. My victim wouldn't testify that her husband had assaulted her...so frustrating. The lies that man told on the stand were outrageous, he ought to have burst into flames on the spot.

All that for nothing, and a whole day missed with my girls. The only good thing was the overtime $, which will go straight to Disney, I guess...

Sigh, tired.

Kris

P.S. Rejoined Weight Watchers yesterday; I want to have pictures I don't mind looking at in my scrapbook when the trip's all done...

How frustrating! I'm glad I just work with budgets-just numbers....I work for a non profit so I can feel about that but not get too worried....

I joined WW just after my Jan trip. I've lost 57.5 pounds. Will look a whole lot better than those pictures but according to WW I still have 35 pounds to go. I may just have to wait to age 45 to make the WW goal. I'd have to say the stay at Poly should be a better for my roommates as I don't snore anymore!

lovesdumbo - I didn't make that post very clear, we are going to be there Oct. 28-Nov.1. Short, but not as short as a couple of our 3-night stays!! OK - here's what we'll do. You'll wear a wig and dark glasses, I'll wear a hat and a mustache - oh, wait, you don't have to be the one wearing the disguise!:teeth:

storybookmum - So sorry for your bad day!:(

WoodysRU - Hey, again, to you too!! How's that belly?!:p

k&a&c'smom-nice counter. I'll be down there at that time too. Maybe you'll see me. I'll be the gorgeous 6ft svelte blonde-oh, wait a minute-that's not me. I'm only 5'5 with brown hair(has some fake blonde in it) and I'm not svelte-just average size.
Debbie-you're getting close.Tell me how AKL is-oh, I mean whatever resort you decide-
Woody-Keep going girl-You're more than half way:cheer2: :cheer2:
KerryCM-pixie dust to you for a speedy recovery and excellent results:wizard: :wizard:
sfbank-Pixie dust to you too. Hope you're feeling better:wizard: :wizard:
Bambi-Hope you're feeling better too.
I have had the busiest day ever. It was my b-day today and I have not been home for 10 min. Gymnastics, back to school night,blah.blah.blah
Bah Bah black sheep, have you any herd, yes sir......
Oh, I mean have a great night all.
I got an e-mail today from the GF IPO and it said "I'm just sending you your itinerary per your request and you are checking in the first night non-concierge and then the following nights concierge-correct." Well duh, I've only been telling you this for weeks and trying to change my first night to concierge. AARRGGHH. I hope I can change this-its a thorn in my side.
Hopefully you can change your ressie Bambi. Lots of luck and PD your way!

:rockband: :bday: :cheer2: :flower3: HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!!!! And did I mention....Happy BIRTHDAY to you!!!!!! :p Hope you're getting a chance for a celebratory glass of wine at least.....I'll leave a nice cabernet out for you. (I'll just take a good sniff first. ;) )

k&a&c'smom.... My belly is doing fine!!! I'm much more uncomfortable much sooner with this baby compared to my other two pregnancies....maybe it has something to do with three babies in three and a half years??? Duh!!

Leaving out bowtie pasta with chicken in a gorgonzola cream sauce....not my normal fare when I'm not pregnant, but what the heck....delish!!! Where is Elisabeth ? Her choc. chip cookies would be good right about now!!!! :teeth:

Nighty nite Lizards!!!!!
