Have yall seen this?

Is it just me or was this really offensive. Seriously, there are people out there who can't feed their kids yet here is a segment espousing the excesses of the ridiculously wealthy.... I mean would someone really buy a $60K Lego for someone knowing the money could be donated to pay for heat or coats in shelters. It makes me shudder. There should have been a big slogan on top "Let them eat Cake".
Well ... then again ... if I earned the $60K, can't I spend it any way I want to? That $60K pays for materials and labor -- which pays salaries for the people who produced the materials and the final product. Those people then benefit. Chances are, the riduculously wealthy person who buys that car has donated more to charities than most of us combined (for the tax break, if nothing else). If they decide to use $60K of their vast fortune to buy a toy like this, then I'm just hoping that the "economic stimulus" it causes trickles down to me.

I mean, if you're going to go that route, there are people out there who can't feed their kids, yet there are people on this board who spend money and go to WDW multiple times a year. Couldn't it be argued that some of THAT money should be donated to pay for heat or coats in shelters? A WDW vacation every year certainly isn't a necessity any more than a $60K car is. But it's how we choose to spend our money. It's all in how you look at it.

power to you if you have the money ! I imagine a lot of people who would buy this stuff already spend a great deal of money donated to charities. Why shoulnd't they have something wonderful for themselves??

Do you take every single dime of your extra money and spend it to feed those poor hungry kids? No you don't judging from the amount of trips in your signature. Wealthy people are no different. They are entitled to spend money on whatever thrills them be it expensive trinkets or vacations. Just like you spend your money on things that make you happy. Nothing wrong with that.

I didn't hear how much $$ the 45 collection was. I'd like that one!

I always love seeing what Neiman Marcus is going to do! My favorite was the 18,000+ records!!!

Did you watch enough to notice that the money from the Dallas Cowboy turf was going to be donated to the Salvation Army?

Also, with you argument, none of us should be taking vacations, buying our own family Christmas gifts, etc. because all our extra money should be donated.

I'm sure the money I've spent on two Disney trips could buy a lot of coats for the needy. But, just because we took those trips, doesn't mean we haven't been charitable.

I enjoy looking at the outrageous Christmas items. I remember the year N-M had matching private jets. I don't think it's a good way to spend money - but they're good for the giggle factor.

It's it great that a large percentage of the voting population thinks they have the moral justification to spend other people's money.

Just wait if Obama wins.
