Have we been upgraded?

I apologize if this is stupid but my heart is pounding and I have a million things going through my mind. We will be checking into the Beach Club this Sunday. We reserved and paid in full for a standard view room. It says standard view on my original confirmation. Well, I just got an email from Disney with my reservation info with today's date on it and says "Garden View Club Level." The price per night listed is considerably higher than what we paid for. Does this mean they assigned rooms today and we've been upgraded? Surely we don't have to pay the price difference since we didn't request an upgrade. I want to get excited but it seems to good to be true!

I would call CRO to find out!! I hope its an upgrade and that your were sprinkled with some Pixie Dust:)

you did get upgraded. I am hoping to get upgraded in Sept, we are going last week in sept to the POLY as a birthday gift for my mom just me and her.

*UPDATE*
Phew. After a little scare it turns out things are ok. I called CRO, gave my conf.# and just asked her to make sure that it showed the balance was paid in full. (Took care of that last month). She said "You have a balance of $500+ dollars. Would you like to use your credit card?" Uh....so I explained the situation and she said she'd see if she could switch me back to standard view. None available, just garden view club level at $316 + tax. "But I just requested a standard view, I have written confirmation of the price already paid for a standard view. She put me on hold 20 minutes. A supervisor answered and I guess the original CM didn't understand since she got on the line and said, " Yes, Mrs. ........ we show a balance of $500 + (don't remember exact amount) is there a problem? So go over the story with her, she understands and says she'll call the BC and talk to them. Well, it took another 20 minutes but that's ok since she said that they had indeed upgraded us, no more is due, but that is how it stands now, they wouldn't guarantee club level. I am totally fine with that. If the upgrade happens I'll be very happy but if not I won't be upset. I didn't ask for it in the first place. I'm just glad I called and hopefully straightened this out before checking in. I'd rather spend money on long distance than lose park time for sure. Thank you all for your well wishes.

Well I hope you get the upgrade, especially after the aggravating phone call you had to make :goodvibes .

I don't understand. According to my last call to CRO, I have stayed on-site 35 times in the past 20 years, almost always at a deluxe and several times in a concierge room. We have never, ever, been offered an upgrade. Why doesn't Disney reward all of us frequent visitors by offering upgrades when the rooms are available?

We have been upgraded a few times. It really is luck of the draw I think. However, I have not been notified previous to checking in of the upgrade. Maybe because it was a club level you were notified? :confused3

It almost sounds like the OP wasn't upgraded, but instead the reservation got screwed up, especially since the website showed a different rate. I agree, I think it was a good idea to get it worked out now rather than later. Definitely post back after your trip and let us all know how it worked out! Good luck and here's some pixie dust for getting CL!pixiedust:

Pay only for what you booked. Any other is an upgrade free. Have a great vacation.

Good for you... I sure hope you get the upgrade...:cutie: let us know how it goes..

Be sure to take the original confirmation for the standard room showing you paid in full, along with the one that got messed up.

You will get at least what you paid for, and can prove what you booked initially. If they don't have that room they need to put you somewhere.
You may be upgraded, you may not.

Let us know what they do with you.

this happened to us this past November.....I booked garden view at Poly and when they sent the confirmation the week before I arrived it said "King Kahuhla..something level", but there was no additional amount due on reservation. I was just tickled pink over it since it was our first stay at Poly. I sure hope that they do upgrade you to concierge since they did change your ressie for you (definately bring your original booking confirmation)

have a great trip...we were just at beach club in May and really enjoyed it!

It makes more business sense for Disney to upgrade new or less frequent visitors. They are trying to turn these folks into Frequent guests.......

For the repeat guests, well, they all ready "have you"......

Just my opinion.

I called and talked to the BC directly and what happened to you is just what they explained to me. We have stayed onsite MANY times, most times deluxe and this has never happened. From what I have been told this pixie dust comes more from overbooking than it does how often you visit. I'll give you a full report when we get back.

I agree with you about the overbooking part....also on our last trip in May we were only staying 1 night at Poly (rest of trip was a BCV) and when we checked in to what I thought was going to be a garden view room (that is what I paid for...with a great discount code mind you) we were told we were upgraded to an MK view. Great room....I am sure it is easier for Disney to upgrade an already paid customer and get someone else to book the cheapest room instead of keep more expensive rooms just sitting there. sure glad it benefited me 2 times!!! YEAH
