Have to switch weeks . . .

I am not in a good mood today! It was my first day back to school (teacher, not student), and I found out that I cannot miss school the week we''ve reserved for our cruise. I won't go into why -- it'll just make me more angry. Let's just say it's completely unfair and leave it at that.

Anyway . . . I'm going to have to push our cruise back by a week. Instead of sailing November 2, we'll sail November 9. Not really a big deal in the grand scheme of things, I suppose. One more week to diet. One more week to anticipate.

I didn't call the travel agent today (too angry), so it'll have to wait until Monday. How big a deal is it to change weeks? I don't anticipate any problem getting a cabin since early November is not a popular cruise time. Will I incur any charges for the change? Anything else I should expect?

I WANTED to push our cruise back a week, when I found out that DCL had renewed with Freeport, and we lost our day at sea....

Basicly, what you will be doing is cancelling your original reservation, and re-booking. So, that is great if the rates are about the same (or cheaper!) :D But, for example, if you booked early and had a really great rate.... get ready to pay more. :( (That was our case, would have given up both our great rate, and our Secret Porthole Room)

Hey, don't be to upset, you have a CRUISE to look forward too!!! :Pinkbounc

Shoot, I didn't know it meant cancelling and rebooking. Now I'm even more angry.

Take a deep breath..... Don't be mad - be glad!!!

1.) You are well ahead of your sixty-day mark. So, no problem or fees with cancelling and rebooking! :D

2.) There does not appear to be an increase in price between the two weeks.... :D

3.) On the 9th, the itenerary will have the day at sea... :D

4.) And, you will be sailing during a FULL moon! A full moon at sea... nice!!! ;)

Hope all works out well with changing your plans!

I changed mine back a week with All Seasons Travel and had no problem. Sandie with All Seasons said it would be no problem and did everything for me. I received a new invoice in the mail a few days later.

Thanks, Wish. That helps! I'll bring my good camera for some beautiful moonlight shots. I teach photography, so that'll be a lot of fun for me.

Well, I know you're upset, but at least you still get to go! Right!!

We too had to change our trip one week. We'll also be going in November. But it was cheaper!! So that was good. But we have to go now during Thanksgiving. yuck...Wanted to go the week prior. But things happen for a reason.

So just go and enjoy!! It could be worse..you could have to cancel and not go at all.

If you booked a while ago, there could be a significant price increase. I considered changing my reservation by a week. The prices of each week were the same, but they were much higher than when I had booked. I would have had to pay a fortune for the new reservation, plus lose the rooms I had wanted. This close to sailing, unless you just recently booked and the DCL website price is showing the same fare that you currently have, I'm afraid it might not be a no charge switch.

My3Kids -- You called it! I cancelled our original booking and scheduled the very next week -- a very small change, in my opinion! It cost an extra $60. We had booked the original week far in advance, so I'm sure that's the difference. I was very disapointed, but it would have been worse to have to give up the cruise altogether!

If it only cost you $60.00 more... Then count yourself VERY LUCKY!!!!!

SMILE!!! :teeth:
Your arrangments are all made, and your going on that cruise!!! :Pinkbounc

To change mine would have been something like $800-1000 and it wasn't long after I made the reservation! (Last time the price increased by $1800 prior to sailing and I would have had to pay that to switch weeks. OUCH!) Sounds like all has worked out well for you! Have fun!
