Have they brought back the DVC presentations?

Was wondering if they are offering the group DVC presentations again. The ones where you have a chance to win a drawing for onboard credit and get free drinks.

Nope and we asked the DVC rep about and they said not for the foreseeable future.

Not this week on the Dream, but the rep said they were trying them out on the Fantasy? (Not sure I believe that...)

We were on the Fantasy in June. They just had the DVC members gathering with the free drinks, but no chance to win anything (and no events for non members.)

Interesting. We didn’t have them on the Magic earlier this month and I thought maybe it was just for that sailing. Didn’t realize it was across the board. Why is that?

Our first cruise in 2016 was where I learned about DVC and am so glad we did. Has completely changed the way we vacation.

I got a phone call from a dvc rep who will be on my sailing. She made it sound like they do things? It’s the fantasy.

On the Fantasy, for DVC members they have a member gathering on 2 days (same exact event) with free drinks (1 alcoholic, 1 juice, and bottled water) and a character meet and greet at the end. As a DVC member, stop by the DVC desk (across from guest services) daily and pick up gifts. They scan your key card for most of the daily check-ins to know if you got your gift already.

Pic of what we got for the 4 of us during the week:

I’m not a member. I’m a recruit. 🤣

Just my opinion, but those sessions are not worth your time, not even with the trinkets. And honestly, we are pretty full-up on Disney string backpacks.

Buy your points resale. Yes, you may lose some Member perks by not buying straight from Disney, but the money you save more than makes up for the lost perks. By a country mile.

That's odd then...we got the call ahead of time since we're members. But...maybe they're bringing back the sales presentations? The DVC member gatherings had just restarted when we were on in June, with a new video/game show setup. They were probably still working on a new sales presentation.

The video they showed at the DVC presentation on our fantasy sailing in June was so awful and cringy. It was like a 12 step confession of DVC members. They also played a family feud type game of answers polled from DVC members at the Epcot lounge. There was no onboard credit giveaway and there’s no extra benefit to buying onboard. Spend your time in satellite falls instead. They did give our free mai tais and water.

I agree on the resale pts, just don't buy Riviera resale as there are more restrictions on it--can only stay at Riviera or pay the $95 to exchange with interval international. We are lucky to have all 'grandfathered' resale points--so we're 'blue card' members and get the discounts, etc. I believe if you buy any of the older DVC via resale, you can stay at any of the older ones, just not Riviera and any newer ones. If you plan to mostly use at Disney World, buy one AT Disney World, so you can book up to 11 mths out at your home resort, and then can switch to another at 7 mths.

Agreed. We are grandfathered Blue Cards as well. I don't really care for all of the shenanigans DVD/DVC played with Riviera, and honestly, while the resort is beautiful, it's just not calling out to me.

Fortunately, we love Wilderness Lodge, and are quite happy to have that as our home resort.
