Have started booking my stay at AKV

I just arranged to transfer some points from someone and as their points are from AKV it meant I could start booking next years trip, have managed to book 4 nights so far. Only problem is that the first night was not available Don't know whether to try and get it on the wait list or sort something else out for that night? I suppose I could try and move out flydrive dates with Virgin till a day later. Decisions decisions!!

I have no experience using points but seems a long way out to have unavailable nights, is that common so far away?
How much would altering flights cost? have you asked?

I haven't asked yet, I thought I would wait till the end of the month when I know whether I have been able to book the rest of my nights. If I get them ok but I can't get the 1st night I don't know whether it would be easier to just stay somewhere else the first night, ASM is available which is close by. I don't know whether waitlist nights usually come up or not. I don't know much really!
