Have questions on a couple details before making DxDP decision

Normally I never even consider the Dining Plan, because I get my CM discount at the restaurants, so there isn't enough of a value to it. But this year I'm going from Dec. 29-Jan. 2 and the CM discounts at the restaurants are blocked out, so I'm at least considering it, but I had a couple questions I'm having trouble finding answers to.

- How does the DxDP work with Cinderella's Royal Table, in terms of payment? I know it's two TS credits, but when you make the CRT reservation, you have to prepay. So do you say you have the dining plan when you get there, and then they refund your card? Or do you call in advance to get the refund issued and pay with DxDP when you get there?

- Can you use any dining credits on your departure day? Specifically, I'm checking out on Jan. 2 and have a breakfast reservation that morning. Would I be able to use the plan for that breakfast reservation, or do I have to use up all my credits by the end of the day on the 1st (my last night at the resort).

1) If you have the dining plan on your reservation at the time you make the ADR for CRT, you will not need a credit card to prepay. If you already prepaid, you can use credits at the restaurant and get the credit card refunded.

2) Credits are valid until midnight following your check-out morning.

One more question I realized I have, but I think I already know the answer to. I have a reservation for HBD with the Fantasmic Dining Package. My understanding is you can't use dining plan credits for that, correct?

As far as I know, you can absolutely use dining plan credits for the Fantasmic! packages. At HBD, it would be 2 credits, just like any other meal there.

Yes you can - and it makes it a good value for 2 TS credits.

And like someone else said, you dining credits are valid until midnight on checkout day. We did a split stay - so we used our credits for dinner on checkout day and didn't use the last of our snack credits until about 11:30 pm (yes, we were cutting it close haha!)
