I never had been around the BC's lobby during the Christmas season, except just stopping by to see the carousel. This year they sold gingerbread shingles in the Marketplace, and in November for awhile, they sold snowflakes. To my taste, these were a cut above ordinary gingerbread, they had a coating of chocolate on one side and candy icing on the other side.

I also noticed in the BC lobby when we were there over NewYears week, there was a CM in a workshop display type area, who helped children decorate some gingerbread, or maybe it was a cookie. I think that was very nice. It would be good if they extended such a thing to the BW! After all, there's a nice display there, too!

I had one of the kids decorated cookie samples (my kids only want to decorate it, not eat it) -- it was very good, with chocolate on the back. I kept thinking all week about buying some in the Marketplace, but never did.

I did get some free cookies and lemonade at the Boardwalk though, that was Christmas week.

I'm glad the BWV had something to give out too. I just realized that we never made it to the GF this year for some chestnuts. We went there in November, we saw the Gingerbread house there, but it was too early for roasting chestnuts I guess.

Shhhhhhh - you can get the same gingerbread in the form of a gingerbread mouseketeer man at Goofy's Candy Kitchen all year round.........

He's not backed with all chocolate, but his Mickey Ears are dipped in it.

I LOVE the Disney gingerbread. It's delicious.

In December, I couldn't make it over to the BW, but I did go shopping at DTD and looked for some at Goofy's Candy store, and didn't see any. I'll ask next time. Not all Disney Gingerbread is the same. In December they were selling some at the American Pavillion in Epcot, and I bought some, it was good, but not like the BC stuff.

Last year (2007) I bought 9 of the BC gingerbread cookies with white chocolate on them. They were delicious! I bought a Gingerbread House at BC that I decorate with. I keep it in the original box. It was still so pretty this year. Not one thing came off over the year.

We just returned on Jan. 4 and brought home a gingerbreadmickey from Goofy's candy company. We filled out the form and got one dipped in dark chocolate coated with butterfingers and reeses peanut butter cup. It tasted just delicious as the day we bought it. :thumbsup2

This is great to know! I would love to bring one home.

The gingerbread shingles were OK.

The gingerbread cookies, however, were delicious!

Bobbi - thank you! I've been saying for years that the gingerbread sold at the American Pavillion and the GF are different. Friends kept telling me it's the same.

Okay, Bobbi. This is a dirty trick posting AFTER I am home. The wait until next December is l-o-n-g!

Don't tell me that you're not going back for nearly a year:scared1: I'm relying on the posts that tell us about the gingerbread in Goofy's Candy Store.

Hope to go in March, depending on what doctor says about DH's knee surgery. If I get lucky and we go in March, I'll check out Goofy's. Traveling is tough to schedule right now. I was within an eyelash of having to leave early last trip. Weather this week in MN will be miserable. I can't even think about not being able to make the March trip.

:grouphug: Hoping for the best for you and your DH.

I'll be there 21 to 29, 3 moves, (AKV, BWV, AKV concierge) different mixes of people, all of which I am excited about!

We have had cold weather, snow, but you have it much worse. This is a real "winter" and not just a cold spell!

One note - I have gotten the last gingerbread mouseketeer man out of the bakery case at Goofy's more than once. I don't think they make that many per day. I bet you could call ahead though and request that they make or save some for you.
