Well I got Crt for the first night we are there..yay. Very excited about that..what a way to start a vacation..

we have 4 day myw base tickets and are going to mk, ak, and hollywood..so the day we go to hollywood..I booked Mama Melrose's.

We will be going back to MK on our last day..and am trying to get Crystal Palace or something inside mk for our last day.

We are going to Seaworld one day and are planning on going to T Rex and paying oop since seaworld is only open until 5 I believe..

So I need a suggestion on where to go for the day we go to Animal Kingdom..It closes at 5pm..so would like to book something after that..I am not into food with an asian flair which Kona kind of looks like it is?..I just don't happen to like it.. I have tried Ohana ..but cannot get in at all.. I have to stick with the resorts unless I try Tusker ..but didn't read great things about it.

I haven't heard wonderful things about the food..but the experience is probably worth it yes? Is it ok for dinner? I will look into it!! Then maybe I could try the liberty place in mk instead of Cp.

To keep with the theme of your day, why not try one of the restaurants at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Boma's always has an excellent buffet. Jiko is great for a nice, quiet meal with wonderful service. The new Animal Kingdom Villas has Saana with views of the savannah and it's animals from your table (also table service).

You can take a bus from the park to the resort. Enjoy.

Boma! Right there close to AK and you get to check out AKL. It's an attraction in and of itself.

I third the vote for Boma! That's what we did in May and have planned again for December. In addition to all the unique foods on Boma's buffet are plenty of familiar foods to suit all tastes - even our "picky eater" 7 year-old DGD.

I haven't been to Boma but the advice sounds good. I have had both breakfast and dinner at Chef Mickey and my family perfers breakfast. The dinner food is medium to good. It's buffet style so there's something for everyone. They have a line just for kids which is nice. Love the characters though and my kids get busy with visits and autographs. Have also eaten at MK Liberty Tree Tavern- which we really like. Family style meals that are like homecooked turkey dinners. It's good with large portions and the characters are a dressed in Colonial outfits. Have fun with where ever you chose.

I'd go for Boma, too. Some of the flavors are exotic but it is a very large buffet with something for everyone.

We are in the minority it seems, but we did not like Boma at all when we went, and we're not even picky eaters! We just didn't think it was all that great. We're going next week, and on our AK day, we're giving Yak-n-Yeti table service a try. I booked an ADR right before park closing. I know you said you've heard bad things about Tusker House, but I've heard a lot of great things about it, so I guess as always it depends on who you ask :confused3 We haven't tried Tusker and didn't book it this trip, but mainly because we aren't doing buffets at all this year.

Good luck deciding what you want to do - I recommend looking at menus and reviews on www.allears.net. Just see what sounds good to you.

Ak closes at 5pm..so would the last reservation they take happen before 5? I know some place take reservations up until 10 minutes before the park closes?

Honestly, I am afraid of Boma and Sanaa..lol My husband would love it ..but I am not an adventurous eater....I know I do no like Asian Cuisine.....But heck..why not try something new! So there is definitely some familiar items on the menu..I have check the menu for Boma..and I saw they have chicken..which makes me happy!

Boma is wonderful, and AKL is beautiful, we have eaten at Boma alot, and love it every time, and well a wonderful part is that they have a hummus bar!!! also they take ressies up to 10 min. before the park closes to park restaurants, and so you could eat at Yak and Yeti, and that is really good! We ate at both on our last trip and loved every second of it

After our AK day we did Chef Mickey's. The food is good, not great, but the experience is really fun. We ate a little bit late and then hopped on the monorail for a ride and we got to see the electric water pageant while on the monorail. Really fun!

I asked this question for our June trip and most people recommended Kona. We chose Kona and it was the best meal of our trip. I am not fond of polynesian food and had the ribeye. It had nothing to do with Polynesian or asian food. It was wonderful. :goodvibes

Our Yak-n-Yeti ADR is for 4:40pm on our AK day. That was the latest I could get, but that doesn't mean some people didn't get some just a bit later.

We're also doing Kona this trip and really looking forward to that one too!

thanks guys..some great advice..I looked at some of the menus..my husband would love these places...Jiko had a steak on it that sounded great...My kids would love Chef Mickey's ...but I haven't been able to touch that res yet...

Kona is something I could get...so I think it is between kona, boma and jiko..
Thanks guys really..I wouldn't have tried these if I didn't post and you mentioned it. I had read that they were good..but thought it wasn't something I would like.. Now i am excited!
