The only thing I don't like about Magic Bands is that I eventually have to use real money to pay for all those times I swiped my band!

Seriously, though, it's so convenient. I haven't *quite* converted to being completely bagless, but I end up carrying much less than I would without the band, and it's nice to not have to dig out a room key.

Love the Magic bands! So disappointed when I get home and holding up my wrist does not result in my door being unlocked, getting onto a fun ride, or being given a tasty snack! :)
Yes. After our WDW trips, the grocery store clerk always gives me a funny look when I hold my wrist up to the credit card machine.

Aside from that, I love that my son can get into the resort room independently without having to keep track of a key. I like that you don't have to worry about losing tickets or paper FPs, and I like that you can choose your own color. As long as the price is included with my resort stay, I'm happy with them.

If by Magic Bands, you also mean FP+, then I'm split.

Cons:
  1. Tiering of FP's
  2. Things are SOOOOOO scheduled now. You are pretty much locked into your park days before you arrive to WDW. Want to change? Good luck getting those precious hard to get FP's at the spur of the moment.
  3. I really don't like wearing a band all day (and kinda feel like a Disney lemming when I'm wearing one, and don't like seeing them in all our photos)
Pros:
  1. LOVE the ability to book FP's for our arrival day and still get to ride our favorites that day.
  2. LOVE the ability to have the FP's booked starting late morning so that 1) we can do standby at rope drop when FP's aren't needed, or 2) We can sleep in.
  3. Easy to get into resort room with hands full

Can't repeat FP's for the same attraction on the same day (right?)
You can repeat FPs, just not within your original 3 FPs. So if Test Track was one of your original 3 FPs, after doing those 3, you can get another FP for Test Track if there is availability.

We all loved the MB's and their convenience (last year was our first trip with them), but I think is sadistic to make us pick which rides we want to be on 60 days in advance...we are on vacation.

Thank you, I went back and edited it.

I was speaking with a few friends that are planning a visit in September and someone mentioned how the Magic Bands have made things worst. I don't know how that can be but figured I would take it to the board and get some accurate feedback.

Honestly, I loved never digging in my pocket for a ticket, a card, cash or a door key.
It's a joy in my opinion.

Love the Magicbands AND love FP+. I was fairly happy with it when we went in 2015 even though we had a few issues getting our fourth FPs with kiosks to get them being down. After going to DL in 2016 and trying to run to Space Mountain first thing to get a FP for the day, I realized I super loved FP+. No dashing around trying to get Fastpasses for rides first thing in the morning.

As for the magicbands in general, I wish they would tie in the feature to have your in-park purchases sent back to your room with a swipe of your band. Perhaps they've done this since I went in 2015? It seemed silly to me that I could pay for my whole purchase with the band and then have to stand there and hand write the packing slip to get it sent to my room.

Agreed!

I don't feel strongly one way or another. I don't charge to my MB, I've seen too many times when the machines go down for that so I always carry a little cash and a cc and ID and my AP card anyway, one more card like a room key or park admittance isn't going to make a difference. I often stay at Swan/Dolphin so I have the room key with me anyway. They don't bother me, we were in the testing phases when they first came out and they did have a few issues then but, other than the whole charging thing, I've not had many problems with mine. If they are referring to the FP portion of it, that doesn't bother me either since we rarely make ours any earlier than the day before.

Or like us, we wanted RSR at night. Good luck figuring out how to time pulling a FP from the machine to get in a ride at night. We got "lucky" that for one of our rides the ride when down so we were given a FP to return anytime during that day so we went back at night. Otherwise, it would have been a long stand by line.

It felt so strange walking around Disneyland earlier this year without one. It was like being back in the Stone Age.

I went to disneyland twice last year, i hated it! the running back and forth was so annoying. i couldn't move anything around and had to plan everything around a set fast pass time.

Did you ask them how MB made things worse? Are they confusing MB with FP+? Or was it something else?

Because while FP+ and MB came about together one can be used without the other. You can use FP+ and never have a MB and you can use a MB and never use FP+

Magic Bands are no better that the KTTW cards that proceeded them. There may be technology coming that makes them better, but as of right now they offer nothing more. If I had young kids, I would ask for cards for them because my boys would have lost their bands many times over and cards are easier to manage.

They do. They can automatically capture ride photos. KTTW cards could not do that. And at 7DMT it's the only way to get a ride photo.
