Have I missed anything since August?

Leading up to our 2-week trip in August, I must have checked this board every day for the previous year. By the time that trip was over, I just had to walk away from all things Disney for a while.

Now that we are gearing up for our February trip, I am back. Did I miss any new changes at the parks, or changes with DVC?

One big change....the 2011 points charts! :sad2:

I just glazed over that thread and saw that there were a zillion posts. Can the changes be summed up in a sentence or two? If I recall, we were all upset this time last year because they were changed and weekdays cost more points.

They are posted on the members website. Basically, most all of the weekday points went up in every season and every accomodation except for value/standard views. The weekends came down in some of the seasons and in some of the accomodations. Plan on it costing you more points to vacation regardless of when you go or what type of unit you stay in.

The other big thing is that valet parking is no longer free for DVC members. That ended at the beginning of October.

Isn't there a set number of points? In other words, it is my understanding that they can move points around a bit (take from weekends and give to weekdays, etc.) but the total points at the end of the year have to be the same. Thus, if they go up in one place, they go down for another. No?

Absolutely right
