So I am thinking about bringing the kids to IOA & US for a few weekdays ( maybe tuesday, wed, thur) DURING our spring break.
I am not sure if all of Florida has the same break dates (4/8 - 4-17 for us). Is this stupid? Is that place going to be SLAM packed?

We have AP's for Disney but the black outs are MANY :confused3 , and I am thinking that all the other AP holders will be planning to go to IOA & US because we cant get into Disney that week.

Also, does anyone know if Jaws is still not in operation ??

Jaws is open. It will be busy. No, not everyone has the same Spring Break. Orlando had theirs last week.

I always post the Florida school calendar, but people could still fly in from other areas. Florida schools are seperated into many counties, and they take their spring break at different times. Yes, Orlando and Tampa already had their spring breaks, so the locals won't be there. South Florida is coming up.

Dade County (Miami) 04/10/06 - 04/14/06
Broward County (Ft. Lauderdale) 04/10/06 - 04/17/06
Palm Beach (already passed) 03/20/06 - 03/24/06

You're basically looking at people driving up from South Florida, which is 225 miles away. I think you'll be ok. Arrive early each morning, that's what I tell everyone. The parking garage opens at 8am, be there when it does, walk to the gate, and get in line. Most of the time, the parks open early if they expect a huge crowd. This early morning head start is huge. You can go on the major rides before the crowds show up. At 11am, forget it, everyone is there and the rides are packed. That's when you eat lunch (ahead of the crowd), and do the movie attractions at USF.

Well, I dont think I will be able to do this trip, I use priceline ALWAYS for our rooms and I cant even get a room right now ( for what I am willing to pay )

If FLorida's spring breaks are all broken up like that , does anyone know why Disney picked April 9-21 to use for black out dates?? It is my luck that that is OUR sring break week.

Possibly because of Easter which occurs on April 16 this year.

Definitely because of Easter! Florida's spring breaks can add to the crowds and at a slow time can really make a difference, but the northeast brings HUGE numbers to the parks, especially during Easter...or their spring break, which in the case of Boston coincides this year with Easter, making it even worse! By April, the people in the cold regions are more than ready for a break from it and some warmth! :sunny:

I know when I lived in MA, I often came down for our April vacation and it was always packed, but more so when Easter fell closer to it!

I've noticed a definite increase in the crowds over the past couple of weeks and I would expect it would be fairly crowded...but nothing like it will be in a couple of weeks, I'm sure! I would say to just do your best to get to the parks at opening as you can ALWAYS get more done at that time, even during busy times...usually for the first couple of hours you can make good progress!

But, take heart, if the hours are increasing around the 8th, it means they are expecting big crowds then! :)

J/K it's just this time of year, it's not just about local schools being out...it's about colleges all being out and then the Northeast (as well as other areas) as well...and then Easter...so...business is definitely picking up! Last weekend at Mardi was WAY more crowded than the weekend before....and I expect it will be a little more crowded this weekend...and even more so the weekend after! I like to think of it as "festive" I like to go for Mardi Gras and while I'd LIKE to be able to get into Finnegan's, it's not a crisis if I can't...so the more the merrier! :teeth: Kevin (MIB9's) just can't get on MIB so much and that stinks cuz he really isn't much into the concerts at all...so I think getting him there the next few weeks will be tough! :rolleyes1 I just really enjoy the whole atmosphere....but then, I'm pretty easily amused! :thumbsup2 :woohoo: That and I don't get out much! :sad2:
