I collect villain pins and I wanted to add Lotso to my collection - that mean old teddy bear. So I bid for one on Ebay (I know, I know) and I won. It wasn't expensive and I don't plan to trade it so it doesn't really matter but...I checked it out on Pinpics and this pin isn't even being released until August 17th. It is Pin 78591 and the seller is buyfromdrake. I can't imagine they make scrappers from pins that haven't even been released yet but how could this seller get them in advance? Are there pin clubs where members get early dibs? Should I be suspicious? Just curious.

Look at the fine print in the listing. Maybe it is a presale, which, as long as the close date is within 30 days of availability is legal under eBay's rules.

I don't know but that doesn't sound good. They DO scrap and sell pins before they are released....I hope that's not the case with you.

Sadly they do counterfeit pins before they are released - it has become a more common occurrence of late - however - look @ the eBAY listing - is ia a pre-release or do you have the pin in hand / shipped to you already? There are no special pre-release pin clubs and nobody (CM's run the risk of getting fired) gets them prior to release date.

Make sure the one on pinpics is the same as the one you are bidding on. There are some pins that look very similar, but are different. The one auction that I saw for the new Lotso pin does state that it is an advance sell. It also states that if the seller is unable to obtain the pin, money will be promptly refunded. So be very sure!
