Have Brita, now what?

Well, we have our Brita Sports Bottles, but now what?

I had thought that I'd just get ice at the restaurants and fill up at drinking fountains, but I read a disturbing DIS thread. In it, multiple people reported seeing people throw up in drinking fountains, wash hair in them, and even wash babies bumms in them!!! Now I'm totally turned off on filling up my bottle from them.

How do you use your Brita bottles?

Oh, by the way, I'm doing the single digit dance!!!! I thought this day would NEVER come!!!!

I fill it up at the resort beverage station before I head out to the park.

In the park I fill it up at the water fountains or I ask the counter service to fill it up for me.

In all my trips I've never seen anyone throw up at the drinking fountains. For that matter, I rarely see anyone drinking out of the water fountains.

Just wanted to let you know in all our visits to Disney World I've never seen anyone do anything except drink in the drinking fountain.

What we did was to fill the bottles from the ice machine at the hotel in the morning. We just came back, and as it was 90 degrees the ice melts pretty fast. To replenish the bottle, I'd ask for cup of ice water at any beverage station. Also, at sit-down lunches I'd fill up from the restaurants. I had no problems and will never go without th Brita bottles again!

We use the ice machines and fill up the bottle before we leave the hotel room. When at the parks, I also ask for water at counter service/restaurant. No-one has ever said no. Annmarie

I just wanted to thank everyone for their replies.

You've made me feel a lot better about the drinking fountains, but I think I'll stick to using ice and letting it melt. Thanks a bunch.

Now I just read a post about a strap for the bottles. I'd really like to find them.

They are really nice at counter service places about giving cups of ice water. Also the soda straps they sell work Great! I leave my strap on year round and it has been wonderful.Plus they are neat souveniers as each parks strap is different. Have fun!!
