First off if you are a woman and are reading this thread, do the right thing and post and admit you had to peak.

Here is my dilema. My BBQ pit is shot and I need to go get another. The truth be know I really dont need one of the monster BBQ pit or a big one like I have now and I am thinking I will get a small one as we rarely BBQ for a big crowd (normally just the wife and daughter) and when we do everyone kind of brings their own stuff.

So here is the question, is it okay to buy a smaller pit and still be a manly man, or do I need to buy the huge pit to stay in the Manly Man
club?

I.e. Does size matter when it comes to a BBQ pit?

Need direction from all manly men. !

If it helps, the BBQ will be stored by all my power tools and craftsman hand tools.

You're only allowed to decrease the size of your BBQ pit if you proportionately increase the amount of beer you drink during the said BBQ feast! This is clearly stated in the Man Law code! pirate: :thumbsup2

I admit it - I peeked. :rolleyes1

And I must say, it isn't the size of the grill but what the man does with the grill that is important. :goodvibes ;)

I admit it I peaked but only because I love to BBQ!. DH and I take turns because he likes everything cooked well done and I prefer steak in particular still mooing. LOL

We have 2 grills a larger gas grill that we use when we have guests and a weber kettle that we use when it is just us.

Oh I think you can keep your Man card as long as you drink beer while you grill too.

I'm gonna peak too because my DH designs bbq grills. You can now get smaller grills with all the gadgets and gizmos that the big manly bbq grills have. We have two sizes, one that we use for parties and one that we use for just the four of us. No need to heat up the big one when we're just cooking four burgers.

I believe there is a loophole that would allow you to reduce the size of the grill. IIRC, you need to build a special enclosure or similar support structure for the new grill in order to maintain your man card.pirate:

The feminist in me had to peek.

I don't like BBQ, however I do understand the manliness aspect (my boyfriend always has to be in control of the BBQ)

I'll just stick to potato salad :lmao:

Glad you brought this up because I am facing the same dilemma. I grill a lot and the old girl is on her last legs. I fondly remember the day I put her together. Shiny and new with side burners to boot. It is now just myself and DD and she is a vegetarian (Gasp). Thinking about just getting a Webber kettle and going back to charcoal. What to do?

I say get the simplest BBQ that meets your needs. It's the quality of the food coming off the grill that matters not how big the grill is.

Ok, I peeked too but I think I have a suggestion....

If you buy a tailgating grill (small yet mighty) then you kill two birds with one stone. You have a smaller grill but its main purpose is to kill meat while anticipating men killing each other......

Only guys with small "BBQ's" say size doesn't matter!

Go Big or go home!! :wizard:

My wife has forbidden the custom made BBQ pit, so I have compensated and currently own a Weber gas grill, 2 weber Kettles (one standard 21" kettle and on top of the line performer (it takes a real man to use propane to light his charcoal), and for when company comes over I have a Brazos smoker. It seemed like a lot less until I started typing. Yeah, the others are right, go big or go home.
