We are leaving for wdw at the end of december(dec 29th actually). And i have a few questions. We are staying at FW in our pop-up, what kind of cloths should we pack?(being from canada how cold will we find florida if it is in the 50's to 60's) Will we have a hard time at the border(my husband is worried that the will make us put up our pop-up)crossing at the detroit/windsor bridge. We are planning on leaving our house at 4am, so will be at the bridge by 430am. We all have our passports(Me,DH and DD)

Thanks for all your Help

We have been to Disney at Christmas in 1985 and 2001 and found that it was cold. The first time, we had to buy wool hats at Disney. In 2001, we wore our spring jackets and long pants most of the time. It always seemed to warm up the day we were leaving.

Check the weather sites for the 5-7 day forecast to see what it will be like before you go.

This will be our fourth Christmas at Disney and the weather is always unpredictable. We have had very cold weather,( winter coats and hats) and warm weather(shorts and tees). I would recommend thinking of dressing in layers. Bring shorts, pants, tees, and sweaters. Layering can provide alot of warmth. Bring a jacket and maybe a vest. Layering a teeshirt, sweater, jacket and vest should keep you warm on even the coolest evening in Orlando. We also camp at Fort Wilderness with our TT. They have good laundry facilities so you can always wash your clothes if you find you have underpacked any particular item. We have never had any issues at the border. Have a wonderful trip and may I suggest the Camping Forum if you need any info on Fort Wilderness.:santa:

Our past trips have been in Dec/Jan/Feb. We usually start the day with sweatshirts on over t-shirts, and take them off sometime in the morning. We usually wear shorts, except when we're going to be out late evening, then pants or capri pants. Layers always work for us!

On all but one trip we've had at least one "cold" day where we have worn our "spring" jackets over our sweatshirts, little "thin" mitts and opted for pants all day. Those are the days you could pick out Canadians and "northern" US people... we all had "fall" attire on while the southern folk had on winter parkas! :rotfl:

We went last year from Dec. 27- Jan. 2 and it was HOT (well...after -50 weather for a week I guess anything over 0 is hot!...but really it was in the 80's F.). The mornings were a little cool, a light long sleeve t-shirt was fine over a t-shirt, but by about 11am it was hot. It rained a little on the last day, but nothing that required coats or anything.

Weather is so unpredictable though, so I'd pack some pants and warmer clothes. Plus if you're driving, just keep all your winter stuff with you in the back. That should be fine.

They will not make you put up your pop up trailer. We have traveled a lot with our tent trailer and now travel trailer.

Just tell them where you are going and they will just let you go.

Clothes wise just have a sweater handy for night time. We were there in Jan. where it went down to 42 but that is a rare I here. It will seem warm down there because we have it cold here. It is like when spring comes here and we think anything above 0 is nice but right now we find it cold....:lmao:

well i went dec 05 and had 10 in morning 18-20 afternoon and back to single digits by night

then went again in dec 06 and was 15 morning 25-28 afternoon and low teens at night

both from 10-19. so like every post here its very umpredictable.
