It peeked my interest when i was on the ride in the room with the ghost bride and the shadow playing the piano.. i forgot about it until i was just on mice chat a few mins ago... does anyone know the story of that bride? i've always been curious and hoped someone would know on here:goodvibes

The shadow playing the piano always freaks me out!

I have the book titled "Disneyland Detective" and on page 88 it says that:

"In 1810, a wealthy sailor, Captain Bartholomew Gore, built this Southern-style house for his young bride, Priscilla. Just before the wedding ceremony, the groom left to sail the sea and asked his bride to move into the mansion and wait for him. His one request was that she never enter the attic.

Many months passed. Fearing that her lover had died, Priscilla decided to learn his secret. She entered the attic and opened some old trunks, There she discovered that he was a bloodthirsty pirate. Just as she closed the trunks, Bartholomew appeared behind her. In a rage, he cute his fiancee's head off with an ax. Realizing that he had killed the women he loved, he hung himself from the rafter's in the attic.

Priscilla's ghost still haunts the mansion, her glowing heart a symbol of her enduring love. Over the years, other ghosts have come to stay at the mansion, some taunting the bride by popping out of unexpected places and screaming 'I do'. Eventually, many other spirits have come to 'live' in the house: '999 happy haunts... but there's room for one more'..."

That was kind of gruesome.. :hmghost:

THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!

Yeah icky! But good to know!

This is regarding the HM in Dl, correct? for I can't say that I recall that particular history, as interesting as it is, do you know when Master Gracey, was suppose to have moved into the mansion? see between official and unofficial back stories, and between that and the other HM's, it can become confusing for me, trying to keep everything straight, while trying to figure out the difference again, between what is official and unofficial for the story lines, I do know, that the story line, for the HM in DL, in Ca. is suppose to be very loosely based, and as a result, there are many different possible story lines to be had, or added to, by ones own imagination. I know that the Master Gracey character does reside there, as it were. Perhaps, one day, everything will be officially stated for all of the mansions.

Yale Gracey was one of the Imagineers that worked on the HM and did a lot of the special effects. Master Gracey ... Yale Gracey ... hmmmm ;)

You could rent "Haunted Mansion" with Eddie Murphy and see one version of the back story.:happytv:

 I remember for years the bride had a beating heart you could see and hear. This time we noticed it the whole bride area in the atttic was different. She was there in a picture with her husband and HIS head would disappear. The Doombuggy got stopped for us at this spot so we also had time to notice that that the bride also had an axe in her hands when she raised her arms. I don't know when it was changed but I don't remember that from 2 years ago. Although, maybe it was and I didn't notice.
