Haunted Mansion

The first time I rode, I had no idea what it really was. I was expecting things to jump out and scream or whatever, traditional haunted house at Halloween type thing, and it wasn't like that at all.

My boys are really scared of the stretching room at the beginning, specifically because the lights go out and there is a scream.

I have loved the Haunted Mansion since I first rode it in 1972 at 6. It has always been one of my favorite rides at Disney.

It depends on your son...if he thinks he can do it then let him try it :)

I think I was 3 the first time I went on lol....the part I remember the most was when you see the ghost sitting with you in the buggy...or maybe I was 9. I may have went on it the second time we went to Disney.

the bride scene is my favorite!!! I love it!

This ride caught us by suprise! We didn't think our DS then 5 would be scared on this ride, but he was terrified. The start in that small, dark, and crowded room I think did him in, and I didn't realize it until we were already committed! This was the only ride he rode that he was terrified the whole time! We will be at DW on Aug 27th--yahoo -- and this is an absolute no for him!

HM really depends on the child. My niece was seven and I thought she would be fine, but she seriously was terrified in the stretching room. So much so that we didn't even go on the ride, we went out the chicken exit. I felt really bad, I thought she would really like it, but that pitch black room with the spooky voice and lightning in the beginning did her in too. :guilty:

Now my nephew was five when I took him and he LOVED Haunted Mansion. We rode it five times. The stretching room didn't bother him, however he did not like Madame Leota's floating head. He said he just closed his eyes for that part and was fine. :confused3

I love the ride and don't think it's all that scary, but I'm not six. You just don't know how they will see things.

My son said the only scary part he really did not like was the stretching room they had lightning and thunder in there and that scared him not to mention I did not like being shoved in the room with tons of sweaty people LOL had to keep a hold of my sons hand. He said the rest of the ride was awesome and when we got home my parents actually asked him what his ghost friends name was and he started laughing telling them all about how there was a ghost in the buggy with him. My parents said the ghost must of followed my son home. Last yr we did not get to go because of the rehab but this time around your not gonna keep us off of it. Please tell your son my child is scared of loud noises and stuff that pops out too but this is the one ride he truly loves. Have fun no matter what you ride on.
