You don't have to be in the park for the 7am VQ.Yep, you do have to be in the park to join the virtual queue, so make sure you're already scanned in. I’ve done it a couple of times—what works best is being ready on the app a minute or two before the queue opens (7 AM and 1 PM). Just start refreshing like crazy right when it hits the hour, and you’ll usually get in. I’ve had luck getting a spot this way, especially if you’re quick with the button. And if you’re with a group, have one person grab for everyone to make it easier.

Isn’t it at 7am and 12 noon at Disneyland? I believe WDW is 7am and 1pm. Why they are different, I’m not sure because it just makes it more confusing!Yep, you do have to be in the park to join the virtual queue, so make sure you're already scanned in. Yes the HMH VQ is 7am and noon. Tiana's will be 7am, noon, and 4pm.Isn’t it at 7am and 12 noon at Disneyland? I believe WDW is 7am and 1pm. Why they are different, I’m not sure because it just makes it more confusing!
You don't even need to be in the park (meaning Disneyland) at noon. You could be in DCA at noon with a park hopper ticket and get a VQ for Tiana's or HMH at Disneyland. This is incorrect. You only need a DL park reservation to join to the VQ at 7am. You only have to be in the park for the noon

Indeed, I joined the HMH queue from my comfy bed at the Grand Californian the other day. I hadn't even gotten up yet, much less entered one of the parks. You don't have to be in the park for the 7am VQ.
I'm so upset. I had something unexpected come up (no danger or anything) and missed my window. I didn't even try but they maybe would have let me on if I returned past the window. You don't even need to be in the park (meaning Disneyland) at noon. From the Disneyland website:
There are 3 daily opportunities to request to join the virtual queue for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure:
There are 2 daily opportunities to request to join the virtual queue for Haunted Mansion Holiday:

- 12:00 PM (Noon) - Guests inside Disney California Adventure Park with a Park Hopper ticket or inside Disneyland Park can request to join the virtual queue
- 4:00 PM - Guests inside Disney California Adventure Park with a Park Hopper ticket or inside Disneyland Park can request to join the virtual queue

@DLandgirlie today is the last MK preview day. It sounds like everyone and their brother is trying to get on the ride today. We were in the 30s on Saturday and got called back around 11 am. Hopefully it won't be much later for you.
@JerrodDragon89 I believe tomorrow night is a media event. I think they want the area looking as nice as possible for the previews. I wonder if the PTN floats were brought over because of the media event.

Gosh, yes, it would have been worth a try. Hope you can try again tomorrow.I'm so upset. I had something unexpected come up (no danger or anything) and missed my window. I didn't even try but they maybe would have let me on if I returned past the window.
I'll be there Friday, so that will be exciting, and a good chance to ride it completely without being escorted off, hopefully.Gosh, yes, it would have been worth a try. Hope you can try again tomorrow.
Seems like the train is now stopping there. They have installed a new disabled ramp for access to the station which is good news. I an keeping my fingers crossed the whole HM queue will be finished within the next couple of weeks and we won't have to deal with VQ. I have no desire to do Tiana's as I don't want to get saturated but I don't want the hassle of VQ just another thing to think about.Looks like the walls around NOS are down! Happy to have that part of the park open again. Hopefully the train will start making stops at NOS.
FWIW, the HM virtual queue worked very smoothly for me. If it goes away, won't HM be on Lightning Lane? In which case you'd probably want to book a reservation with LLMP, which seems like as much (or as little) hassle as doing a VQ.Seems like the train is now stopping there. Yes it would be on LLMP but to me that is far easier to work around as I would actually be able to choose an exact hours window at the start of the day and know when to be back in that area. With VQ you have no way of knowing what group you are going to get until you apply and then you have no idea when that group will be called making planning your day very difficult. With LLMP's you can keep trying to modify if the time doesn't work for you and you can stack them if you want to do the ride later in the day. With VQ you may miss your window if you want to return to the hotel for a rest. To me there are too many unkown variables with VQ but with LLMP I know approximately what time to apply for one to get the time I want and I can plan my day around it accordingly. Just my thoughts anyway.FWIW, the HM virtual queue worked very smoothly for me. If it goes away, won't HM be on Lightning Lane? But you can track what group they are on so you have an idea of when you need to start heading back to that end of the park. If you are group 30 and they are boarding group 10, you have time to do other things. If, on the other hand, they are boarding group 28, you might want to head back towards that end of the park. Even if you don't, you have an hour after your boarding time to officially board the ride. Realistically, very few people have been turned away, even if they are hours after their boarding time. With LLMP you do not get to choose your return time, you just know ahead of time when you book what it would be. With VQ you have no clue what it will be until they "call" your boarding group.
