Hi all, I'm stuck in the midwest after being able to go to DL for years any time I wanted...*sigh*

I'm just wondering if anyone has gone through the Haunted Mansion since the rehab, and what you thought...and if anyone knows if there are pictures posted anywhere...

Thanks so much! :)

I've never seen the movie but I can still follow the ride. It's a neat twist on one of my favorite rides!

Roy :-)

Hey Roy,

You said something positive about DL
I knew you had it in ya :D

I just calls em' as I see's em!

Roy :-)

THANK YOU TKL!!! That is exactly what I was looking for...If only I could get someone to do the whole ride in mpg. Thank you so much for sharing...I'm wondering if I can make it to California before Christmas! :D (The Haunted Mansion, and Nightmare Before Christmas, two of my favorite things...)
Thank you again...and Roy, you should rent NBC...its wonderful!

Have a great day! :)

I was just there again on Saturday, and it was just as much fun as ever. I think that because there is so much to see in there that the ride seems to go so much quicker.

It's been no secret that the rehab is to infuse (or infect?) Nightmare Before Christmas into The Haunted Mansion. It's supposed to be open for the Christmas season. I don't have any timeframe info, but I'm sure someone else does. If things go well at Disneyland this year, then we'll see it at WDW in the future. Will anything stay the same? Will the new Disney Tradition be to change everything? RIP Carousel of Progress, which closed at WDW last week!

I vote for a NBC ride all it's own at both parks...but that's just me...:bounce:

:)

We love it!!!!! Lines are long - hope Disney learns that if they spend money they may make money!!! We went within the first week, and they were already sold out of most merchandise for the ride - at least my niece got a sweatshirt (it was her birthday)...wish I was her size!!!

Here is another site to check out (if you haven't already):

The change is temporary, and should be gone after the New Year (same situation as Country Bears Christmas Special and Small World Holiday). Nightmare was quite a successful film, and the temporary changes at Mansion seem to be very well done and very well recieved. While many (myself included) hope we do get NBC HM here at WDW, success at DL is no guarantee. Small World Holiday has been around at DL for years, but we still don't have it here. As for things always changing, that's kind of the idea, always has been.

We went to DLR 10/15 thru 10/19 and went on the "new " HM several times. We all loved it! It is very well done! We never had any long lines for anything the whole time we were there, not even on the HM. I think the reason WDW doesn't have the SW holiday is because at WDW the SW ride is in a plain building, whereas at DL,SW is in a beautiful, fancy "castle". I have always loved the facade of DL's SW and was GREATLY dissapointed in the WDW version.

MBD Haunted Mansion was fantastic. My DD loves NBC and was thrilled. I was caught so off guard. I thought there would be some changes here or there, but it was almost completely revamped. I would love for it to stay that way for awhile. Maybe a year.:)

Oh I'm sooo jealous! Thank you for the sites guys...soooo neat. Boog, I'm sorry you're so disturbed by the temporary rehab. Is change that bad? Safari Steve, has there even been any chatter about it coming to WDW?

Thanks again all...enjoy it while you can! :):)

thanks for all the postive feedback...we are leaving in 19 dyas and IM getting excited!

Any word officially, on when this will disappear? We're going in early January, and would like to see it.

:pinkbounc I think the web site; www.laughingplace.com had some updated photos of the Haunted Mansion. I went and it was great, but you really have to go at night to really appreciate all the effects that Disney has done.

Disneyland's Mansion cast sent us (WDW Mansion cast) a giant Christmas card with Jack Skellington on it! It says "Twas the nightmare before Christmas, and all through the house, not a creature was peaceful, not even a mouse." I think it's a pretty safe bet that we'll be getting a similar treatment here in the East next year.

it was really good!!! :)

I didnt look at any pics so I could be surprised!
