Haunted Mansion Holiday

Hello all,

I'm just wondering if any of you former AP's may know this. I don't get out to DL as much as I should, but I will be there 8/30-9/2 the day before the Mansion is supposed to be open again after the overlay. My question is, has it in the past ever opened early like even just a day? I would hate to miss it by one day.

I can't speak to HM in particular, but I have been on rides the day before they were going to reopen several times.

Haunted Mansion Holiday doesn’t usually open early since it’s tied to Halloweentime starting.

No idea on the HM, but I can say they definitely open rides up ahead of the listed schedule sometimes. We were there 3 weeks ago and the Jungle Cruise was scheduled to reopen on Friday the 16th after an extensive refurb. We heard the boats going around on Tuesday the 13th which we assumed was probably practice/training runs, but we could see some of the boats full of passengers. Didn't think it was open since the app showed it still closed and the physical sign showed closed. But the next day, Wednesday the 14th, we were walking by and again could see boats full of people going by even though the app and physical sign still didn't say open. We walked over to the entrance and once slightly inside could see a number of people lined up. We joined in even though I thought maybe it was some special invite only deal and we might get kicked out. Thankfully it was fine and after maybe 10 minutes in line we did the ride just like normal 2 days before the scheduled reopening, they just hadn't announced it was open yet. So obviously that doesn't mean it will happen on HM, but there is some hope at least!

They may have a soft open. I think it all kind of depends on the speed of the switch and the traffic they are getting from guests. Then again, it may be different this year with how protocols have changed.

Probably not..... a couple years ago it didn't open until later in the day on the first day of Halloweentime. They do not have soft openings with Halloweentime.

I would definitely not plan on it. They’ve got that overlay down to a science and know exactly how long it will take. They don’t accidentally finish early

Considering that Disneyland hasn't even called back all of their cast members yet and still need to hire new ones I would say don't expect it to be open early.
