Haunted Mansion Holiday to open 9/26/08

Oh boy, that isn't far away. Great, I get to lok forward to a few months of those oggie woogie things or whatever you kids are calling them!

Don't hate it but I certainly don't love it either.

I love the HMH overlay! Does that mean Christmas is coming early this year?:cool1: Around October I start listening to the NBC soundtrack and watching the NBC movie, its cooler at DL and we are going to DL pretty regularly after the Summer crowds and break from the July block out month and August, September heat oppression.
I personally love the HMH overlay because it reminds me of my very best friend who loved the movie who passed about 2 years ago, so seeing Jack reminds me of him:goodvibes

Disneyland calendar shows HM open on the 7th and closed on the 8th...and then back open on the 26th!

Now if only wdwinfo.com (aka the Dis) would get their 2007 info OFF, so they could stop confusing people!!!!

I know 2 years ago it did open up around the 27th because I was there. I know it opened up a week earlier the following year because I was there. Seems like the last time this came up Hydroguy mentioned it would open up earlier in the month as opposed to later, which is why I think the info is wrong.

I checked the calendar also and I see what you are seeing. Now I wonder when the decorations will up? Will the decorations go up earlier but the HM just not open up until the last week? I dont' really care, but my sister in law wants to see it all decorated up and she is coming in from Kansas. blah

I sure hope that info is wrong!
I changed my Sept trip from 9/12 to 9/19 so we wouldn't miss the overlay.
We were there in 2007 when it opened up around 9/22 1 week earlier than 2006.
and in 2006 when we missed the opening around 9/29.

We're just missing it by a week. But that's ok, I knew that when I booked. My first day of classes are either the 24th of the 25th, so that wouldn't work, would it?

Can somebody tell me what exactly is involved with the HMH overlay? I guess I've never really been clear on it. I know they decorate the outside along the theme of "Nightmare Before Christmas." Does the ride inside change, too? Do they not sing "Grim Grinning Ghosts" or have hitchhiking ghosts trying to jump in your car? I've only seen the original.

Yep, I'm clueless.

The entire inside and out is overlay to the Nightmare theme.

The ghost host saying is different as are many things inside. I personally think the overlay is amazing, but I am a huge NBC fan :) And the grinning ghost song is also changed.

The entire thing as I said takes on a whole new theme for the holidays.
