Went to Disney yesterday and rode HM and the hidden mickey plates were gone. I rode it twice (of course I had to, to make sure my observations was correct, not that is my favorite ride) and it is MIA. I was there in August, does anyone know when the ghost rearranged the table?

You mean in the ballroom scene? They were there last Saturday, October 1.

yep very sure. We look for them every time and we were with a friends who had never rode it before so we wanted to point it out. We rode it twice to check. I am hoping it is back to normal when we are there on the 28th

I went on a Keys to the Kingdom tour ages ago. During the tour we were told that the plates in the dining room of HM are not an "official" hidden mickey - they were not designed as part of the ride to be a hidden mickey. Apparently, whenever a "honcho-type" comes through, that person puts the plates back properly. At some point, a cast member will go back to the scene and rearrange the plates to the hidden micky layout.

I don't know how accurate the story is, but I've seen the table arranged both ways...

If true, those honchos sound like real fun at parties.

I've read about this on several sites and was just coming in to mention it. :thumbsup2

I, too, have seen the plates arranged both ways, though usually in the Mickey arrangement. It was arranged as a hidden Mickey as of last weekend.

On our way home from being at WDW since 10/1. It's true...visited MK 5 different days last week and rode HM each time. Plates were in the classic Mickey arrangement until we rode on Saturday night.

We were there on 10/7 and the plates were not set up. I made a comment to my husband about it. The ghosts are playing around again! :rotfl:

We were just there on 10-8 and they were there on the end of the table, left hand side. But maybe the Happy Haunts have been playing games with everyone!:goodvibes

We were told the same thing on our tour and I trust our guide. He was not just a CM, but a huge Disney history buff and spent much of his free time researching Walt and the parks. Ours was actually one of his last tours as he was getting promoted.

Yes they were. It's the last setting on the left (right next to Julius Caeser) on the side of the table closest to the doom buggies. There's a dinner plate with two salad plates forming the ears.

:sad2:
WOW
Are you sure?
I don't doubt you but
WOW

Safe travels

I second that the plate is missing in action. We rode the HM ride five (5) times in a row on October 7, (better than standing in the rain) and we noticed that the plate that forms mickeys right ear was missing. Must have been a slow day for Master Gracie.:scared1:

I have seen them missing before. In fact, they were missing one of the days over Labor Day Weekend. I don't remember which day though. I do know they were there Sept 29th-Oct 1st...

This is true...when I was a CM I was lucky enough to do the HM backstage tour that is a cast member exclusive and we got to go in the ballroom and the Haunted Mansion CM's doing the tour showed us the plates and told us that when they do their morning walk through if they see it arranged differently they will put it back in the mickey shape

This is correct.

The plate arrangement comes and goes.
