My guess is this is Disney testing the waters for a subscription box service, like Loot Crate and the many others like it. It wouldn't surprise me to see them expand the offer and then offer either limited subscriptions for new themes or a more long-term subscription for general Disney merchandise.
I think they have started a subscription for Tsum Tsums too. I think these sorts of things, especially for collectibles, will be very popular. I am just glad that they don't have a limited edition t-shirt subscription. I would definitely go bankrupt with that buying 3 of them: one for each of us, me, DH, and DS
I am looking forward to seeing what it is.
Tsum Tsums kinda weird me out. They're kinda fascinating, but definitely odd.
I must be getting old, because I don't understand why people want things that look like their favorite character turned into a loaf of bread.

I got my shopping notice yesterday. No estimated delivery date, but I'm excited. Anyone else get theirs?
Mine is in Compton, CA, since about 8 pm on 3/31. I live in nj..I have a feeling this will take awhile.:\
They're having a party with mine.I just checked mine and our boxes are hanging out in Compton together.![]()

Mine just..."got outa Compton" at 11 pm. Why is waiting so hard?
I do not have any delivery estimates yet.
I also tangled with their support for the app. I messaged them right after I ordered, to confirm it would be downloadable on a iPad Air 2, and they said yes but the experience would not be optimal, because it would not fit in a certain part of the experience...and well, guess what...they were wrong. You need to have cell data on your iPad to make this work. So you need to have a data connected iPad.
The app requires a GPS chip which is not exactly how the iPad Air gets it's GPS info...but here is another question...why does the app need to know exactly where I am? There are rumors that the game is only playable inside of Disneyland...considering I live in NJ...this is not part of my typical commute.
I am hoping maybe it is a bonus features work in the haunted mansion...but even that would make me a bit sad, because I paid $200 for a full experience.
My hubby's iPhone could be used, but it is his phone, and he can barely fit it on his phone...it's huge!
Trying not to be negative and failing badly.
Here's an unboxing video I found on Reddit. As I suspected, a lot of paper stuff with a couple of tchotchkes.
If it's only useable at Disneyland then I'm extra glad I didn't buy in. For $200 I would expect it to work at WDW too.
I guess I feel like this set is more worth $100 than $200.
I hope it's not the case that you need to be in the park to really enjoy this. It would be misleading marketing, to put it mildly. I'll be in WDW in a few weeks, so if there is a park feature, I can test it out. But to me, this was really billed as a "can't go to the park? Have a bit of the park at home!" sort of thing.
