Haunted Mansion for kids

Just a little tip for parents of little ones that get scared in the Haunted Mansion.....inform your child that there is a donald duck some where in the ride and they'll look for it and it will take there mind off of being scared....the donald duck it's self is the white lace outline on a red chair in the hallway where it appears a candle stick is "floating" down the hall...little less then half way threw....there are also said to be more donald ducks in there but thats the only one i've seen....any one else know where one is?

For some reason neither of my kids in all the trips we've taken have been scared of this. (They are 3 and 6.) But, try to put my 6 year old on POTC and she FLIPS OUT. Go figure. I've always told them it is the funny Halloween ride like at trick or treating time.

My 8 y/o who will ride space, splash, R&R, and anything else, is scared to death of HM. He rode it for several years without a problem, but last year he had a fit. I have no idea what caused the change, but we have a rule in our house that if you don't want to ride something because you are afraid, then you are not forced to ride. That is one of the things that really upsets me when in WDW is to see parents dragging their kids on rides crying and screaming.

Tell me about it. I don't force my kids on anything either, but I see lots of people that do. I have sat out with my daughter the last two trips while everyone else in our party rode POTC. I really wish she would ride it again so I can, too!
