Haunted Mansion Fastpass for Party

I just received my Disney Visa Rewards Fall Magazine and it said to pick up a fastpass ticket for the Haunted Mansion Holiday, this is the only time of year they're available.

When can you get them at the start of the party?
Do they have a machine or does the CM give you a paper ticket?
Is this available all day or just during the party?

Do other rides have this during the party?

Now, it's possible that Fastpasses may be issued for HMH, but don't bank on it. For several years, they have not been available during Halloween Time or any other season.

The title of this thread is misleading -- people will think that Fastpasses are available for the actual party, and that's not what the Disney Visa booklet says (I have it).

What the text in the Visa booklet is trying to get across is that Fastpasses are available during the Halloween Time season -- not during Mickey's Halloween Party -- and there is a difference.

Rides in DL do not have Fastpasses during the MHP. The lines for rides are expected to be shorter because it is a hard ticket event and fewer people are in the park.

That said, I'm not even sure there will be FPs during the non-party hours, or at any point during the season. As perlster said, they're usually not available. Maybe this year they will be, but not during the party.

I didn't even mention the Fastpass thing in the Halloween Superthread when I talked about what was in the magazine the other day -- because I figured that tidbit was incorrect, or at least not applicable to the entire season.

I'm pretty sure they would not have mentioned Fastpasses in the newsletter if they weren't going to be available. I have a funny feeling the people at Chase work with Disney to put those newsletters together. They just might have a little bit more knowledge of what's to come than the "experts" who post on sites like DIS.

Ask Sherri how "accurate" those "official" publications have been.

completely OT, but two Disney myths I (who have never claimed to be an "expert") can conclusively debunk:
1) CMs must never point with just one finger
2) CMs always refer to an "attraction", not a "ride"

Thank you for that vote of confidence.

I am not just spouting off on topics about which I know nothing. They would, indeed, mention something that wasn't correct or accurate. Last year, the Backstage Pass newsletter (the publication for Annual Pass holders, which is an official Disney publication) published the start date of Mickey's Halloween Party as being Monday, September 30th...when it was actually Friday, September 27th.

They occasionally make mistakes and give out the wrong info (or info that is misleading), as well as leave pertinent details out (such as leaving out the Winter Castle Enchantment Lighting from the calendar last year, when it was taking place every night during the holidays). They have also let a couple of embarrassing typos (such as "Tinkle Bell") go public on their website and/or in brochures.

Whatever the case, the title of this thread indicates that it is the party that is referenced in the Visa booklet as it pertains to the supposed Fastpasses, and it is the season that is being referenced -- there is a difference.

There might very well be Fastpasses available this year, but Disney would -- and has -- let incorrect/inaccurate/incomplete info go out to the public.

I've never been to MHP, but if it's anything like MNNSHP, then there will be NO fastpasses for anything during the party.

The Visa booklet did not reference the party in relation to the Fastpasses. That's what I have been saying in this thread. The OP chose a thread title that will make people think FPs are available at the party, and that is not what the booklet said.

The text in the booklet is referring (contextually) to the Halloween Time season offerings in general, but I can see how that may not be clear to people who are new to Halloween Time and/or have not done the MHP, and are still confused about the difference between Halloween Time and Mickey's Halloween Party.

That's why the "experts" are here on this board -- to help clear up some of the confusion that Disney causes with its words and information, or lack thereof, and to help people know what to realistically expect, sort it all out, etc.

You're correct -- barring any kind of sudden change, the party will not have FPs (and that question and answer is in the MHP FAQ on page 1 of the Halloween Superthread). Haunted Mansion Holiday may or may not have FPs during the non-party hours this year. We'll find out next month!

I should have put a question mark at the end.

I have been to DW party many times but this will be my first party at DL.
When I read the article I didn't know if it meant just during the party or everyday during the overlay.

After reading the article I assumed this was past practice and people who have gone in the past would know.

I called DL guest services and Kristen told me there will be a fastpass machine and it will be available all during Haunted Mansion Holiday INCLUDING THE PARTY.

If she is right we won't know till the first party.

...Could be, but don't be surprised if/when there is no Fastpass machine open during the party. The rest of the Halloween Time season, who knows? Maybe during non-party hours there will be FPs for HMH, but don't be shocked if there is no FP for HMH during the actual MHP.

Another thing we try to tell people on this board is that the CMs on the phone are usually the last ones to know anything -- and that is no exaggeration. They will often say things that are not up-to-date, simply because they have not been informed otherwise and they are making assumptions. Some of them are more 'plugged in' than others. (One of our DIS'ers once called DL and got a CM on the phone who gave her the schedule of the Holiday Time tour from 2 years prior!)

Last year I had to tell CMs on the phone at DLR what the dates of Halloween Time and the holiday season were -- because they had not been given that information, and I already had it. I know that no one wants to think that Disney ever gives out inaccurate/incomplete info, but they do on occasion -- and those of us who have witnessed and experienced those sorts of things are here to help people sort it out so they know what to expect.

Things could always change from year to year, of course.

Was it last year or the year before when CMs said that the FP machines would be turned on closer to Christmas and instead the area ended up being used for the Jack and Sally meet and greet and HMH FP never materialized. I think it was 2012. I know there were no FP last year. I think the machines have been removed.

SMD --

I think it was 2012 when that happened as well, though I could be wrong. Time is flying so fast that one year just seems to blend into another year!
