Hi all,

Anyone else an HM fanatic? I try to go at least once a day while at the parks.

Loved the original but the Nightmare Before Christmas was a nice change up.

Met a lady who had a button that said she had visited the Mansion 999 times. She was a stewardess with an annual pass (I think) that every time she was in town she went.

We also love the HM, but what and when was this Nightmare Before Christmas change up?

It's my favorite ride anywhere, but even so I don't know if I'd call myself a fanatic. I've never been to DL to see the NBC overlay--I have a feeling I wouldn't like it.

It's not at WDW and never has been.

During the Holloween time they overlaid the standard ride with a Nightmare theme. Unfortunately few if any of my pics came out. I will check tonight.

Not sure if it continues during the Christmas season.

Nope.

You are confusing Disneyland with Disney World. This forum is mainly about Disney World.

The Haunted Mansion was an absolute favourite of mine as a kid - I must have gone on it 6-7 times in a row. I haven't been to Disney since but am really looking forward to going back this April and experiencing it again as an adult. The HM was one of the main reasons for my love of Halloween to this very day.

Only at Disneyland. WDW does not do the holiday overlay at all.

Just so readers don't think this occurs at WDW, as most posts on this forum are about WDW.

I have always loved the Haunted Mansion...the special effects are amazing! I always go each time I am in the Magic Kingdom, which is a lot...because the Magic Kingdom is my favorite park. Next trip...March 2012.

Sorry.

It was started as just a general question on HM. Overlay was a side thing.

Go ahead and delete.

no worries, there are Mansions at both parks...and in France and Japan too, the one in France is quite different!

I wondered why I had never seen what the OP was talking about as we have been to WDW in Sept for the last 2 yrs.

I guess this gives us yet another reason to visit DL. We have been patiently waiting for the Cars Land to open before we go.

I am a certified junky as well. Got in a record 5 rides this last visit! Have always loved it and am very happy with the recent changes they have made.

Hope to get back to DL for the NBC overlay someday. It sounds great!

I really enjoy HM, but over the years it has become a running "joke" with my three DS. Why?

Many years ago, we went on HM at WDW and the ride stopped during the part when the doombuggies turn backward. We were stuck there for 5 minutes and my kids NEVER forgot that...

So, every time we are at WDW (or even DLR), I promise them that it won't happen, and nearly every time the ride stops! One time I even heard my DS 22 groan "OMG, not again!"

We know the ride probably stops to load/unload a guest with disabilities, but after the 5 minute stop in front of the graveyard, this ride will continue to "haunt" :rotfl: my boys!

It's one of our favorites. :goodvibes

We have not been to DL yet but are planning it eventually, though I don't know if we will make it in the fall to see the holiday change over. Now that the kids are older, I won't pull them out of school so it has to be a summer trip.

Love love love HM! I remember seeing a special about it on Wonderful World of Disney when I was a kid in the 80's and wanting to ride it so bad. :rotfl2: Can't wait to check out the new queue area next week.

HM has always been a family favourite, and one that we go on multiple times each visit. Love, love, LOVE the new interactive queue. Have been fortunate to see the Nightmare before Christmas overlay at DL a couple of times, and it gives a neat twist on the usual park decorations.:thumbsup2 And the one in DLP is definitely a lot different than the 2 American ones. Just one of the reasons I love visiting all the different Disney Parks. Holding out for a trip that will include Tokyo Disney maybe later this year!!

I've only been to WDW so can only imagine what the other ones are like. BUT, I will say this is one of our favorite "classic" rides and whenever it is suggested we head towards HM, everyone agrees!!! That doesn't happen often with ANY rides, but we can't get enough HM!!!
