I really wish they would start decorating HM in the World Nightmare Before Christmas style like they do at Disneyland for Halloween.
I also dissent.

I withdraw the thoughtGuess it's a good excuse for me to travel to Disneyland one day.

I love Nightmare and the overlay at DL is great, but they shouldn't do it at WDW. DL is a locals' park, with a visitor base that goes many times a year. WDW is a destination, once in a lifetime for some, and it would be dissappointing to go only to have the classic HM turned into a movie that isn't even relevant in ones home country. WDW has to be "evergreen" fdor that reason. DL can rock the overlays all they want as they are a lot of fun. It's also a great reason to get to both parks.
HM will be closed for refurb at MK between December 1 and December 19.
I hate it when the dark rides constantly stop. Under the Sea-Journey of the Little Mermaid and the Haunted Mansion are notorious for this. In fact I don't think I've ever been on the Little Mermaid without it stopping at least 2 or 3 times and I've ridden it probably a dozen times. I never imagined it was to let on and off handicapped people!
Or worse, closed altogether for weeks just to decorate it.
That too! DlLs Haunted Mansion is closed for almost a month before, and a month after the Holiday overlay's run. Necessary refurbs are one thing, but those are large windows to be without HM (though at least they're predictable).
DL is such a different place. The locals will just drive by, park for a hour, ride one thing, and go about their day. It's actually kind-of amazing. Ahh, the laid-back ways of SoCal!
Logistically how does that work? If they got on, they have to get off when they are at the exit. I don't know exactly, but I think it is 3 handicapped riders are allowed on at the same time so there are enough staff to be able to get said riders off the ride in a serious emergency, so yes depending on how things are timed, you could potentially stop 6 times on any given omnimover ride. But outside of Splash where "Brer Fox and Brer Bear are causin trouble down river" we have never stopped that many times on a single ride.
Oh, please Noooooooo!I have to disagree. Now, to be fair, I am not a big Nightmare Before Christmas fan. When we went to Disneyland, I was disappointed in Haunted Mansion and didn't like the overlay at all. I told my husband that the next time we go, I want to make sure it is when Haunted Mansion is in its original form. If they do that at WDW, as well, I'd have no desire to visit haunted mansion at either park from September through early January.

I personally love that ride so much that I ENJOY when it stops! I just sit there in my happy place smiling and singing along. lol Only time I didn't like it was near the end and I had to keep hearing miss creepy saying "hurry baaaaaaaaack" lol
Yeah, sorry OP but the omnimover stopping a few times during the ride (normal) to load handicapped guests isn't a reason to shut it down and "refurb". The reason it's going down in Dec is for photo op installation. Please stop being over dramatic.
I agree most stops in HM would be pretty enjoyable. On our last trip though we got stopped for a long looong (at least ten minutes) right in the bend before the ballroom - there was NOTHING to see but a dark wall. Could not lean forward to see anything fun in either direction. Had our car been just one space forward or backward it would have been a different story. I was bummed!
We got stopped for about 5 or 10 minutes with the doom buggy going down the hill to the cemetery. The buggy was leaning back pretty far, it was dark and cool and I was so tired that I was struggling to stay awake. That would have been an awesome place for a nap! I might have even dozed off for a minute or two, I don't really remember for sure.
